I received services at this surgery center and I most say I had no issues. Very clean and organized facility. They fo charge by the minute so if your allotted surgery time goes over the estimate that your doctor gives you will be charged even more. I had surgery here on 04/25/2023 and when paying my cp-pay with my credit card I had to hand it over to the receptionist and wasn't able to swipe it myself. I had not used this card in a year and less than two weeks later I get a call from my bank stating a fraud alert on my card someone trying to open an account with it. They have all my personal information I'm very upset. They stopped the incident from happening the card is canceled but I'm pissed why don't they have a card reader I can swipe my own card with. I will from now on swipe my card or they can bill me later. It's best to use a cash card if at all possible. People come to them sick needing care and to top it off this happens. I'm going to report this action to fraud. read more

The doctor was great, he was very professional and personable. The front end staff, however, didn't give me copies of the paperwork I needed in order to make the payments for this procedure. I received call from their billing department in November, 3 months after the procedure, to collect what I owed. I told them that I hadn't received a bill, the lady advised they had sent several bills and told me the address they were sent to. The address was incorrect. They sent me a bill demanding the entire amount be paid right then and there. I had entered into a payment agreement but they were refusing to accept it due to non payment on my part. After 2 months, they stopped sending me a bill. I kept paying but have not heard anything from these folks about the exact amount I owe. (I want to make sure my payments are being applied correctly) This is horrible service as far as the billing goes. read more

Doctors are great, nurses are great. BE very very careful with the financial department and their billing! Fraudulent times given to get more money out of cosmetic patients!!! They apparently have their own time clocks and it might not be the correct time but that's what they can bill for! read more

I was at OP Surgery Center on 01/26/2015. The nurse took me back and there were about a 50 beds one next to the other all divided by curtains. I was nervous anyway and the lack of privacy didn't help very much. The next thing I know a nurse supervisor, Waja, starts yelling at this other nurse to go to a different room. I felt like leaving right then. Now they take me to the procedure room and the anesthesiologist is no where in sight. The LCRN or whatever is trying to put the Anastasia in my IV and he doesn't have it in right because it is squirting on my arm. He does this twice before I tell him it isn't working. Next the doctor come in and doesn't even wear a gown to perform the procedure. Everything obviously turned out alright since I am writing this review but it seemed pretty unprofessional. read more

I was involved in a terrible car wreck that left me with a broken femur. I was taken to OVerland Park Regional hospital and Dr. Molly Black did an amazing job repairing my femur. Everyone on staff did amazing. I often go to the surgery center for follow ups and I am impressed every time. I definitely would recommend this location. read more

I was really impressed with this facility and the ease of my experience here. I came in for a minor surgery and was nervous since it was my first surgery. The pre-op nurse was kind as could be, made me laugh, and put me at ease. The surgery went well and finished ahead of schedule. The post-op nurse could have been a little more compassionate (she snapped at me when I asked the same question when I was coming out of anesthesia), but overall I was pleased with my experience here. read more

I had a great experience for my parathyroidectomy performed by Dr Robert Thompson. Everyone I spoke to before my surgery was very informative and helpful. My Pre-Op Nurse Lee was wonderful, Natalie was great while I was coming out of anesthesia and made sure I had my glasses. In the evening Theresa then Amy & Tenille where super sweet and took great care of me. Amy went above and beyond due to my oxygen levels were low and blood sugars were high. Wow... I had a great experience at the Overland Park Surgery Center. I met with Dr. Gupta upon my first visit and then I had surgery with him a few weeks later. I've been in my share of Dr's offices so I know what to look for. The desk staff was always very nice and rarely was I in the waiting room for more than 5 minutes. Not kidding. They are on top of their game here. When I was prepping for surgery, I tend to ask questions of the nurse and dr just to get a feel for who will be caring for me in my hours of need. The pre-op was also very clean and organized. Everyone asked the questions that they needed to of me (birthday, name, allergies) upon the first meeting. The IV was the only thing I questioned.. it was in my wrist, which I've never had that before and it hurt when I bent my wrist. But, she got it on the first try. Once out of surgery I tend to have some issues but they took care of me very well. They also gave me time, which some places just seem to push you out the door with one eye open. I really appreciated the extra time. Thanks to all of you at the OP Surgery Center. Hopefully I never have to see you again but I will send anyone I know that might need your help, without question! read more

I had the most unpleasant experience speaking with Sarah at the Overland Park Surgery Center. She is rude and unpleasant, she is condescending and has no business working with anyone dealing medicine. When you are talking with someone concerning a life event you must be considerate and courteous. I would not take my stuffed animal to an establishment where the employee such people. read more

Dr. James Mavec is the rudest doctor I have ever met. I was nervous about a procedure that included a biopsy. When I asked a question, he cut me off and said, "We don't have to do this today if you're afraid. I'm not here to babysit you." I have been operated on six times and I hate the big hospitals with a battalion of medical people, the endless paper work as well as the assembly line operating room. The Overland Park Surgery Center started off great since it was one block away from home. The waiting room was small and cozy but I was summoned before I was able to sit. I registered then waited for ten minutes and was taken to the back where there were maybe six private curtain rooms. Instead of taking hours to happen I waited twenty minutes to get to the operating room. Everything was professional and I had the feeling that this place has picked the best from the hospitals. There are beds for overnight stay if needed. This should be picked before any hospital. It is also in the nice side of town so you don't have to worry if you're going to be safe. read more

Came for a surgery for my son's hand. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. When we were taken back for pre op intake nurse was friendly but did take several attempts to get my son's IV going. When she finished she gave him the call button and closed the curtain never to be seen again. The surgeon showed up 5 minutes before the scheduled surgery time was a bit rushed but took time for questions. The Anesthesiologist spoke so fast I had to listen hard to understand her! I understand this is routine for them but this is my son and I prefer "medical professionals" at least pretend they give a damn about whom they are treating. She did slow down when talking to the patient in the next bed. When it came time to take him back into surgery an hour and 20 minutes after he was scheduled the nurses speaking on the other side of the curtain were saying things like "I'm so discombobulated today" and questioning what the anesthesiologist was going to do " I wonder why she's doing it this way?" Did not give a sense of competence. When I complained about the late start I was told "yeah that happens" post op went well nice helpful nurse there read more
