The atmosphere here is great, down to earth, and always busy. They don't take reservations either. You just have to show up and make sure you get there early because once the bbq is gone that's it. Honestly I'm not a fan of their style of sauce but many others are. However I did try the deviled egg sandwich today and it was outstanding, I really need to order 2 next time! The waitress recommended adding bacon and I also added onions because I'm a fan of them. The combination made for a hearty sandwich that hit the spot. The bridge and the area around it is part of a passive park owned by Greenville County. It was built in 1909 by Charles Irwin Willis (1878-1966) and is a four-span Howe truss, featuring diagonal timbers and vertical iron rods. It is named for Alexander Lafayette Campbell (1836-1920) who owned and operated a grist mill here. The foundations of the mill and home site are still here to be explored. Ample parking and several picnic tables in the shade make this into a great stop for lunch. When the water isn't running to quickly, there's nothing wrong with dipping your feet into the creek to cool off. There are several signs about so that you can learn about the area. The bridge has a curved clear span over the river that curves away from the falls offering a picturesque for. The bridge is a suspension bridge with a total length of 345 feet and a clear span of 200 feet. The twin towers and suspension cable are visible from vantage points around the city. It was completed in 2004 and there are plenty of other things to do, eat and drink in the immediate area including a nice walk through Falls Reedy Park. The greenery covering the area is quite robust and a lot of effort clearly went into designing and maintaining it. At one end, a spot for people to hang collars up to memorialize their dogs demonstrates that apparently visitors here like tiny yippy dogs a lot more than I do, but it is still a nice touch. When I visited, they were working on building a visitor center and parking was limited (one end is a separate business whose parking lot is devoted solely to that business as designated by numerous angry signs). However, a water fountain and portapotties were still available. This isn't a place where you'd spend an enormous amount of time, but it is well done and certainly worth a look, and there is no charge to cross.

Spending time along the Reedy River in Greenville is such a special experience. There are several…read morebeautiful spots to sit and relax, especially near the Grand Bohemian Lodge Greenville, and the bridge is a wonderful place to stroll while enjoying the soothing sound of the river and waterfall. What makes it even more meaningful is the history behind it. Beginning in the late 1700s, water-powered industries clustered along the Reedy River, including trading posts, grist and corn mills, a sawmill, an ironworks, the Gower, Cox and Markley Coach Factory, a paper-making factory, and an armory. A century later, textile and apparel mills were established along its banks. Unfortunately, the mills discharged waste and excess dyes into the river, and the Reedy began to suffer from the spoils of progress. By the mid-20th century, downtown Greenville's stretch of the river was so severely polluted by upstream textile mills that the once pristine and popular falls became desolate and unsafe. Seeing how beautiful and vibrant the area is today makes you truly appreciate the restoration and revitalization efforts. It's peaceful, scenic, and rich with history -- definitely a must-visit when you're in Greenville. Cheers!

It is said that this bridge is hunted and it is not safe to be around the area after hours. It is said you can hear the worker that was buried inside the bridge because they couldn't get him out. Spooky I know although I don't know how true that really is, one thing I do know is I would not want to be in that area after hours. The sounds of water streaming under the bride is very relaxing. I love the arch that is built inside the bridge.

Park across the street, a sturdy staircase gets you down to the bridge. WOW.... Such history !!! It's a 200+ yr old bridge with a Gothic design. Take the walking trail on either side off the bridge, follow the stream.. .. stunning. So glad we took the time to stop.
