I previously worked at a gym where we had scheduled daily cleaning assignments, sanitation station checks every 20-30 minutes, and stocked cleaning carts to prevent exactly these issues--so I know consistent systems make a difference. I was also disappointed with the owner's response to my previous review, as I was told to address staff directly rather than seeing clear operational improvements. I hope management takes more proactive steps, as I'd prefer to stay rather than cancel my membership.

But I have to tell you right now this is one of the least expensive courses you'll ever play--you'll easily pay less than $20 for 18 holes on this course. For that you get one of the most enjoyable courses in the state which includes a severe "go through the woods if you dare" dogleg, and rolling downhill Par 4's, vast Par 5's, a serene setting, an overall shaping that rewards well hit shots, and very friendly staff. The SRSC gets the job done. My undergrad gym was brand new and state-of-the-art (I mean Kobe played…read morebasketball there during offseason + free towels during your workout + climbing wall, etc.) so I had high standards going in. The SRSC doesn't even come close, but eh it works. It's like a 24 hour fitness - good enough. It features: *Multiple strength & cardio areas - I typically go to the strength area all the way at the end of the hall, past the basketball/volleyballs. That's where they have 6 or 7 racks + weight. Warning: clean off the bars before you use them - they're filthy. They have an amazing amount of treadmills (even curved treadmills!), rowers and stair steppers. *Group exercise/yoga & Pilates studio - I've taken a Zumba class here and tried to take a yoga class (addt'l $8 punch card needed!) They're just okay, but hey it's cheap. *Seven racquetball/wallyball courts, two squash courts, table tennis, & badminton *Five basketball/volleyball courts - Haven't played basketball or volleyball, but I've played intramural kickball on these courts. They'll just partition off a section of intramural sports. *The Counsilman/Billingsley Aquatic Center (CBAC) Olympic-sized pool/diving well - Swam here once. Not much to say except ask the lifeguards which lanes you can swim in. They'll often have swim meets at this pool, so parking can get a little crowded. *Indoor walking/jogging/running track - this runs right over the basketball/volleyball courts. *Futsal Court TON OF undergrads though so I typically go right when it opens in the AM (6am on weekdays/8 am on weekends).

Coach Maskell has the rarely seen gift that only the great coaches/teachers posses…read more He's able to tailor his method of coaching his concepts (which by the way, work!) to anyone regardless of their particular learning method. At a recent clinic taught by Coach Maskell he was explaining 'the lead' to myself and another student. The other student was an engineer by trade so when Coach told us a particular presentation required about 4ft of lead, the engineer understood exactly what he meant, adjusted accordingly & saw immediate improvement. Unfortunately, I'm a lawyer and telling me a particular target needs 4ft of lead is like trying to explain quantum physics to an infant - it doesn't work. But Coach Maskell knew this about me & without missing a beat, explained it to me in a more visual way that made sense to me & sure enough, I started hitting that target (and haven't stopped since)! Every time I've worked with Coach Maskell I have been happy at my improvement at the end of the day. He's always positive & helps me fix any mistakes I make instead of simply pointing them out & not offering solutions (as many coaches I've taken classes from in the past have done). His credentials speak for themselves, but unless you ask, he's not one to brag. Nor will he ever make you feel like you should be thankful he's allowing you to learn from him. Couldn't be happier with my time with Coach Maskell & I'll be back for sure!
