As you can imagine, the atmosphere is 100% kid-friendly - from the giant fish tank, you see when you walk in, to the video games and play equipment in the waiting room. The staff were enthusiastic, fun, and answered all my questions. It was exciting for him to go back to the dentist area all by himself and come back with information and a goodie bag! It's little things like that that really make a place warm and fun!

When my daughter came back out she refused to talk but broke down in the car screaming about how the doctor was yelling at her and even pushed her shoulders down. When I called and talked to the dentist he said she was unruly and and was yelling at him so he had to raise his voice back to her. She is 9. I don't care if she was being loud and screaming she was clearly in pain and his response was to yell at her. He then continued on by saying I should ask her how the rest of the appointment went and that he would bet she would say it went well because they asked her and she said she was fine. She was to scared not to hold still. The dentist told me that it shouldn't matter how the start of the appointment went it should be the whole visit. I think he forgot he worked for a place called First Impressions specifically for children. He should take a long look at his choice dentistry if he can't handle a 9 year old getting upset.

If the doctor wasn't "really" a specialist in a procedure that would have been helpful to know. I was refused premedication, and deliberately SHAMED by the hygienist who TOLD ME the office was talking about me- clearly behind my back!!!! Interpersonal violence is harmful once but from multiple people in one visit is reprehensible. Crying in the chair from physical discomfort is to be expected at a dental appointment but not from overt shaming by multiple personnel.

He was a little nervous at first, but hygienists Susie and Mandy were so kind and personable that he warmed up pretty quickly. Doing these first appointments in a regular "meeting room" was much less intimidating than the "scary dental chair", which would have probably made our first visit a little different in a 2 year old's mind. Dr. Maggie is phenomenal! You can tell she and the hygienists have spent years in these roles with how educated they are in the child's world of dentistry. They made the teeth cleaning fun, talked to the many hurdles with diets for kids and keeping their teeth healthy, and gave me a good plan moving forward. Ever since our visit, my son likes to "play Dentist" at daycare and help the other kids brush their teeth and tells everyone about the slide. *Adorable* I HIGHLY RECOMMEND First Impressions in Weston for all families!
