While I have experienced Brazilian jiu jitsu instruction at Rising Phoenix, it is obvious that he has a similar very scientific, enthusiastic, and patient approach with his other martial arts. Mr. Westfall is vastly knowledgeable and masterful across several martial art disciplines. He has experience training under/alongside some of the greatest and most influential martial artists in recent history. He provides concise instruction with a very respectful attitude that gives the gym a leg up on others in the region. I'd guess someone would have to travel hundreds of miles in any direction to get the same level of training. The facility is complete with grappling mats, bags, trapping dummy, boxing ring, and plenty of open space for kali or Jun Fan. It is always clean and well organized. The prices for classes are very reasonable as well. If you're looking for a martial arts gym for fitness, competition, or self defense, this is your place. If you are looking to get started or find a new place to train, this is it. The first class is free, so what do you have to lose? I suppose I should also note that there is no machismo-factor at this gym, everyone is very respectful and very easy to get along with, which makes it an excellent place to excel at your art.

Their billing office refused to cancel my membership unless I paid $150, which is well over half the price of the 12 month contract. Absolutely ridiculous. You'd think you would make that pretty clear to avoid these situations, especially in the middle of a pandemic. I was ready to part ways on a good note until this, I will never support this business again and I'll make sure to tell my friends and family to do the same. **there is also zero social distancing in place and not a mask in sight aside from employees.

Their representative also implied that this could have been done earlier if we had only asked. (I have asked, my daughter has asked, my bank has asked, her boyfriend has asked.) Setting Standards in Evansville!!!…read more I was in the Evansville area for business and I had an early morning flight the next day out of Evansville Aiport. I was looking for a Box in the Evansville area to get in a WOD before heading out for the night. I was staying in the Hampton Inn by the airport and saw that this Box was 5 minutes away. I dropped off my bags and headed over to work out. I was greeted by Coach Sara who welcomed me like I was a member of her location. I changed and warmed up and did the WOD with a solid group of CrossFitters. The folks who I worked out with are true champions and put me to the test, but I did get to an 80% max on Deadlifts so I was pretty happy with that. I had a great time and a great workout with this and hope to be back one day. If you're looking for a place to work out and maybe not challenged by the hotel gym, head on over they will take good care of you. Be prepared to sweat!!
