I have used this location periodically over the last 9 years to wash my heavy duty Carhartt work clothes. They have a excellent heavy duty large washing machine that accommodates a extra large load and dryer too! Everything works great and they do not cheat on your dryer time! The machine I used cost $11 for one load. The dryer is 50 cents for 5 minutes. All my items were completely dry in 40 minutes. The owner's name is Dee and she is from West Africa. She is one of the nicest ladies and so helpful to all her customers! I had an outstanding experience her today and would highly recommend this location. read more

I would give ZERO stars - HORRIBLE! Do NOT come here! The guy working had the doors closed at 7:20pm when they close at 8, on top of which he would not let me dry my 2 loads. You have to wash your loads in order to use their dryers. RIDICULOUS! read more

Just about as good as it gets for a laundromat lately and one of the cleanest I've been in. They have a good selection of washers indifferent sizes, and the owners are great at figuring out what you need for the type and amount of laundry you have. When it's busy, they could use more dryers, and they have space for them, but I'm guessing it's not financially viable. That's also the reason they don't have card machines. The return they would need doesn't make it worth it. There is an ATM at a liquor store in the strip, if you need cash. I come quite far out of my way to go here because som many laundromats are filthy. This one is super clean, though worn down. They are always picking up and tidying while I'm there, and they have someone who cleans out the machines daily. It makes a huge difference. The owners pay close attention to the customers and know many of the regulars. They're also always on the watch for people who might misuse the equipment causing problems for maintenance and their clients. read more

Went there to do a quick load of laundry. They guy tried to tell me I needed a larger machine just by looking at my basked. I know how much laundry I had and know what machine it would fit it. I feel like he was just trying to get me to use the more expensive one. Half the machines where broken and they had no AC also. Treat your costumer with respect. read more

I use the laundromat to wash comforters & quilts. I must say that this laundromat is one of the nicest ones that I've been to in the area. Their faculty and machines are very clean and newer looking. The attendant was very helpful with tips while using the machines. She also maintained clean work surfaces between customers using the folding tables. I'd normally let this go, but this is the second issue. Farmington residents, do not frequent OWL Laundromat in Grand River. The manager limits use of machines and scolds/criticizes you on laundry habits. My son is high functioning autistic. His first and last time in the attendant was rude and disrespectful, eyeballing his every move. Today my bf was told he had to wait to wash, despite plenty of available machines. My dryer went out in the middle of a couple loads of laundry so I needed somewhere to finish off the wet clothes. Luckily (or so I thought) I live in the neighborhood right behind the shopping center where this Coin Laundromat is located. When I walk in, the attendant asks how much I have and how many pets I have at home. I let him know I only needed the dryer and he said "No you can't do that, you have to wash first we only have so many dryers." I look to the bank of eight dryers of which only two are occupied and look back to him and he points to a sign he was standing in front of that says "No dryer only, must wash first" so I wished him a Happy Holidays and left. Dropped off 2 king size blankets and they were very communicative on pick up time and getting me in same day. This was my first time doing drop off because I didn't have time to wait with other errands. It was a little pricey to me ($50 for 2 kind size blankets). Very clean ! My clothes always smell great ! My washer broke and am unable to get someone to fix it under warranty for a month. It's nice to be able to get my kids clothes done all at once in 4 loads as their washers are big. The owners are very helpful !! read more

I love this laundromat. I walked in at 7PM and Dan, the owner, said they are closing but let me do my laundry anyway. While I was drying my clothes, Dan started disinfecting the washing machines with a cleaner and wash towel. I have never seen anyone do that. I waited for 20 minutes at 8am, when they were supposed to open and no one came to open up. When I did make it back later that day to wash a comforter, the attendant quickly asked if I had pets. Yes, the reason I came in was because the cat peed on the bed. She said I could not wash it there because "the pet hair clogs the machines and it's too much trouble". I told her that it was 3 months old and they pets aren't allowed in the bedroom. My cat accidentally got trapped one day. So she reluctantly let me start washing my comforter but saw 2 small fuzzes then said, no and I would have to leave. There was no offer as to what to do next.. No where is it posted about pets. My advice is to lie about not owning pets or find another location. read more

Okay, so laundromats aren't the usual things to review but this one was just a good experience. The place is in an ethnic diverse strip mall, not much to look at from the outside. The owner is totally delightful and friendly, very helpful and knows his equipment well. He made suggestions based on what I was washing, what would be a waste of money, and even suggestions where to have a quick lunch while I waited. It was a very pleasant surprise and experience. Laundry is laundry but this place was at least very clean, we'll kept, with tables, chairs, a TV, and a friendly upbeat atmosphere to boot. read more

Just returned from Owl Laundromats. I haven't been to a laundromat in years but needed to wash a comforter. Dee, the owner, was very kind and helpful when I had a question. We had a nice conversation while I waited making the time go by quickly. The washers/dryers looked newer and worked well. I really liked going to this place. It wasn't crowded and the lady there was very friendly and helpful and offered to help in any way she could. She had all sizes machines and had a man to work on the machines or whatever he needed to do, on site. I had left my detergent at home and I found out she had regular sized detergent instead of samples, and it wasn't over priced. This is the only place I will go to wash my clothes. read more

Dee and her husband Dan are the owners and they take real pride in making sure that the laundromat is well maintained for every customer. Do NOT I repeat DO NOT come to this laundromat. Upon entering the store I was looked at and approached rudely. There was an old man standing and an old lady sitting down, she went on to ask can I help you? I stated no I'm here to use the facility. They ask, well where are your clothes.. at this point I feel interrogated and uncomfortable that I am being asked all these questions. I said I am checking the dryers to see if can use before I bring them in. Ok, so entering a laundromat I have never been asked can I help you unless you are using there services (meaning needing them to clean your clothes, etc.) I just needed to dry and she refused me to use the dryer and stated I must wash here. She said I can't just dry GOODBYE. Are you kidding me?? I have never heard of such a thing. For one she was a rude Jamaican lady at first encounter and two, how dare you say I can't dry when your online presence does not state such a thing.
