That is exactly what it felt like. The cushions were absolute garbage. Glad I purchased with a credit card. Visa said tell them to pick it up and we will give you all your money back. I did. Then there's a seating area when you can eat, served by a friendly attentive staff and an adjacent boutique area where you can purchase housewares, clothing and other cool stuff. I'm not in Maplewood all that often, generally when I'm shopping at the equally awesome City Workshop but when I do, I always make sure to hit up Perch. You should too. 1/2 star deduction because they don't offer fake sugar, just that Stevia crap which is gross.

The pickup area is just a computer and the staff that pointed me out here was pleasant, and then we waited for a bit as they were all busy staffing the registers. Eventually another staffer came over and handled our pickup order but she seemed rather dour compared with the greeter at the door who was much more positive. Items in stock - check. Pickup - relatively smooth. Store did smell a little bit strange, but maybe it's all the random materials and items there (was looking at some brick wind chimes, wicker baskets and other decor). Definitely some challenges with quality control - some items were already chipped and cracked while on display, others looked great. I've been to another location and they were much better organized. Lots of furniture, though, so perhaps I'll have to dig more into that (though, yes, they are more expensive than Ikea, but less than Macy's). A nice thing around the holidays - various treats from around the world show up in stock that you can get to surprise as a little holiday gift for folks. I'll come back to see what else they have.

I've been to other locations before, but this was my first time at the Livingston store. Overall, I had a good shopping experience and would come back again. I found good BOGO sale deals and price markdowns - a kitchen wrap organizer for $2.99 (marked down from $9.99) and a large, tall cabinet shelf that worked perfectly in the kitchen for $12.99. The store is well organized and visually merchandised; it's cool to walk around and look at their inventory. Plus, the staff were nice. The woman who rang me up at the register was friendly and I even signed up for the customer rewards program... So I'd recommend the store if you are in the area or local and need something specific, or are looking for some home organization inspo.
