Huge space with so much to explore! I absolutely loved perusing through the food section - they have many beverages, snacks and candy from other countries. They have a home section with unique and cozy items (lot's of pillow choices). They also sell clothing and novelty gift items. Located in the same plaza area as DSW and Nordstrom Rack, this World Market has a random set of items for home decor. A staffer greeted us as we walked in. The pickup area is just a computer and the staff that pointed me out here was pleasant, and then we waited for a bit as they were all busy staffing the registers. Eventually another staffer came over and handled our pickup order but she seemed rather dour compared with the greeter at the door who was much more positive. Items in stock - check. Pickup - relatively smooth. Store did smell a little bit strange, but maybe it's all the random materials and items there (was looking at some brick wind chimes, wicker baskets and other decor). Definitely some challenges with quality control - some items were already chipped and cracked while on display, others looked great. I've been to another location and they were much better organized. Lots of furniture, though, so perhaps I'll have to dig more into that (though, yes, they are more expensive than Ikea, but less than Macy's). A nice thing around the holidays - various treats from around the world show up in stock that you can get to surprise as a little holiday gift for folks. My Latest Quest found Me reaching towards an attempt at making some "Real Authentic" Spanish Paella. Other than all the endless seafood ingredients I also needed a few things on My Shopping List that are imperative to this dish. One being Spanish Style Rice directly from Spain and the other being Saffron Strands which, I gotta say were extremely difficult to find. Although long story short-term I did finally find Everything I Needed and ALOT More [a Ton more to be exact] over at the World Market Store in Livingston.   Here they really dedicate this place to being a one-of-a-kind shop dealing in all things which are derived Globally throughout the World. It seems amazing but it's true, One can literally find items sold here that are traded in all four corners of the World be it: food, furniture, or furnishings. World Market customer service has declined tremendously. Used to be my favorite store! I have so many pieces of furniture from them. Recently, it's been all headaches! Purchased 3 sets of outdoor chairs from them. Chose pick up in store because they offer a 15% discount if the customer picks it up and to save on their hefty shipping fees. Spend time and gas to get there, as it's kinda far from me. When I get there, instead of my 6 chairs, there's only 3. Despite the website and order confirmation saying "set of 2", the manager (who I must add is really nice) said it was only 1 chair per order. At first she says it's only a set of 2 if you get it shipped to your house. After I told her that made no sense, she says I actually caught a glitch on the website but says she'll honor the price. After waiting 45 min (most of which was her on hold on the phone), she says that World Market won't honor the price and that I'd have to shell double what I paid plus $120 in shipping fees. So not only they made me lose time and money, they made a pregnant woman have to stand in the store for 45 min for nothing. Such a shame that they gone downhill. The manager is nice but the company running this brand is shitty! Ever since WM was acquired, they lost all credibility and are losing loyal customers like me every day. One of the most unique stores that you can go to. If you are looking for an item that isn't found in most stores, they probably have it. My wife and I love coming here, especially during Christmas time. They have all the Christmas goods that we want from all over the world. The store is always clean, and staff is always friendly. Their prices are a little steep, but I don't mind paying a little extra because they import from all over the world. I love going right after Halloween right after they mark down all their Halloween stuff, and half their store is dedicated to Christmas. I don't know if you can tell, but I love Christmas!! I am a second generation German-American, and there are so many German items that are super hard to find in the US. Luckily we have World Market! They have almost every item that I look for. If you are looking for that item that you baked with in Germany, if you are lookin for that candy that you had in China, if you are looking for that spice you had in Egypt, if you are looking for that seasoning you had in Mexico, this is the store for you! I just want to say that the people at this store are so nice and helpful. We bought a large dining table for pick up and a staffer was very helpful getting it loaded into our truck. When we got home and unpacked and assembled the table we were upset to see it was damaged. We called the store and the management quickly arranged for a 3rd party company to deliver a new table and take the old damaged one. This place is amazing they got so many unique and cute pieces for décor and a lovely selection on international food items. For instance I have been looking for this Jamaican jerk sauce and I couldn't find it nowhere I checked many supermarkets in the area and I had no luck. I walked into this store and there it was paste bottle and marinate as well. Also, I got a few Swedish ginger cookies, a artichoke Italian spread, some Spanish tomatoes soup, some Japanese candies and a tote and a couple of Guatemalan worry dolls. this place is great and I am definitely coming back. i LOVE this place! they've got a little bit of everything from furniture to food and to stationary. their entrance is more furniturey but towards the back's where all the food is! they don't have produce but they've got other packaged goods. it's a little pricey but i always love the stuff i get from there. they've got food from all over the world and other knickknacks. read more

Have been a few times including opening day a few months back. They have a wide variety of imported foods, candies etc. although some items I have seen in other stores slightly cheaper. Their staff is awesome always there or offering to help with any questions. They always have a sample station with the fixings of coffee and tea out on the floor! Favorite to buy: Australian made TimTams dark Chocolate cookies. You do the TimTam slam with these-bite off a tiny bit from both ends and then dip in a hot beverage like hot cocoa or coffee and slowly sip. BAM! It's the slam of creamy melted chocolate that awakes your taste buds. Try it! Also the carry alcohol beverages and have nice looking furniture items. read more

Uneven is the way to describe this place overall. At different locations the selections are random. Prices are ridiculously high on cheaply made furniture (go to ikea instead). I like the clothes but they seem to be not stocking much. Foodstuffs from around the world are great but some things are crazily priced. Kitchen items are great when on sale. Wines are reasonable. If you asked me to describe heaven, it would include this place!! And I wouldn't mind being locked in this place over night (like a kid in a candy store type of place) Are ya picturing that? I knew of "World Market" because there is a specialty food section in some of the larger Bed Bath and Beyonds (such as the Paramus, NJ location) But WHO WOULDA THUNK IT, that they would have everything you could need from kitchen and house hold items, bath products and furnishings, and furniture and decor for the ENTIRE home!!! When you first walk in you feel welcomed right away and are immediately greeted by someone at the register.. like that's their signature thing to do. LOVE IT! They also have jewelry and accessories, clothing, specialty bath and body products..the list goes on and on! They have goods that you might have seen on travels that range from Hawaii to Japan ALL IN ONE PLACE!!!! What I also love is that have items from the PAST! Ever think that you were meant to be in a different time period..like say..... the 1960's?! They have toys, soda pops of all kinds of flavors, and candy from past decades. Pricing is reasonable if you realize that some of the things they carry have to be imported and their staff is knowledgeable. The unholy love child of Bed Bath and Beyond and Pier 1 Imports, with foodstuffs thrown in for good measure, Cost Plus World Market is the perfect place to pick up great gifts or last-minute touches for your dinner party. Cost Plus is snuggled into a shopping center set back from Rt. 10, so you won't see it readily as you drive by. Once you get inside, its an amazing treasure trove of housewares you never thought you needed. They have an extensive selection of flatware, kitchen gadgets, and drink ware. Venture further back in the store to find an an excellent selection of imported teas and coffees, sodas, candies, and snacks. There's also a nice paper goods area with unique cards and gift wrap. This is not the place to pick up some basic housewares, but you can certainly find those pieces that will give your home some flare. It's also a really great place to get host/hostess gifts or that person who has everything. I was particularly impressed by the soda selection, and it was only my continuing fear of adult onset diabetes that prevented me from trying more varieties. read more

Beautiful home decor items, great kitchen gadgets, nice selection of teas, coffees and specialty foods and candy too. Well priced too. I called the store yesterday and needed a table I saw online held for pickup- Joe was so informative and friendly. He gives great customer service! Tonight I went in to get the table and had the pleasure of working with a manger named YvAnne, at store #6375. She is excellent! She was efficient and kind and we never felt rushed even though our transaction made us go past closing time. She even took the time to ensure I received my membership points towards my purchases. Fairly decent selection of coffee, tea, snack items, condiments, beverages, kitchen accessories and small goods. Prices are reasonable but the majority of the non-perishable items are made in China or India so they better be low-cost. Main issue is the aisles are so damn small and piled with crap you can barely navigate through them. read more

This place is so much fun to walk through. A friend of mine spoke highly about the one in her area so I decided to check it out before heading into Ulta next door. Lots and lots of cute bathroom and kitchenware in entry... I'd say this store is almost as mesmerizing as Target. I caught the crazy in me start to make a list of people who recently moved just to find an excuse to buy something small from here. Don't fall into the trap! They have quite a selection of teas in the back corner and a small market section of food from various cultures. I never would've expected to find green tea Kit-Kats outside of K-Town in NYC or Mitsuwa in Edgewater... But they do sell them here along with other Asian goodies like chocolate Pocky sticks and shrimp chips! They also carry a big supply of Tates cookies, another go-to snack that's hard to resist. Their furniture section is another reason I like wandering in here. Once I move somewhere more permanent, I'll be sure to come here to spruce up my future home. My first purchase being one or their animal lamp posts. Overall, I'm a fan and will be returning sooner than later! read more

I hate to let out any good secrets in Jersey because some of y'all just don't act right. Like the dude who buys all the sneakers from the Nike outlet and re-sells them for twice the price. Oh well, this is for the folks who actually deserve to know about this gem of a store... I love this store! I used to visit it in Cali and regularly drool over their Web site. I love this place. I wish it was closer to me. I could spend so much time in here! It's like a home goods only 100x better with different items from different cultures! Their coffee and tea section is incredible for all you coffee/tea lovers out there. Their marketplace is so much fun to be in because you never what you'll find! I will say you absolutely have to try a stroopwafel! Their decor items are very eclectic with a rustic feel, too. A lot of wooden pieces or items with brushed nickel. They also have a small candle/incense section. Incense can be hard to come by sometimes. You can also find some interesting pieces in their wall art. Earlier today there was a canvas of different sections of tree bark but it was put together really simply. Everyone working was super friendly and greeted me as they passed by. Though they didn't all bombard me and ask if I needed any help which can get a little annoying when every staff member asks you. A simple hello or how are you to me is already great customer service. Though I knew if I needed help, any one of them would be happy to assist me. There appears to be a reigning orthodoxy in the retail world and the restaurant business, we want the customers deaf !The music in this store, a mixture of Frank Sinatra and Italian pop, is played at ear splitting volume.I had to put ear plugs in.That is insane and believe it or not I'm not ! What is it that so many businesses have against their customers being able to think and talk .I've been in branches of this store in San Francisco,Santa Fe and Boulder ,Co and never experienced anything like this. Love World Market but the store manager at your Livingston NJ location was super rude on Saturday. She reminded me numerous times that the store was closing in 10 minutes, then 5 minutes and then 2 minutes and was more focused on getting us out of the store at 7pm rather than being helpful and kind. If I treated my customers like this (especially the ones spending money) then I would have no customers. Need to give your store manager a lesson on general courtesy and customer service. I was so annoyed at her attitude that I'm debating returning my entire order. read more

Update: I couldn't stay away--I needed another table lamp that looked like a fox. My second visit could not have been more different from the first. There were incredibly helpful people working the floor, and our check-out experience wasn't too bad either. There was much more staff overall which was a huge improvement. Very cool place. This is something of a mix of an upscale version of Homegoods crossed with a Bed Bath and Beyond. They have all sorts of home decor items like tables, chairs, bars, rugs, outdoor furniture and the like, in somewhat of a limited selection. I really found their stuff to be modern and sleek, and pretty reasonably priced for what felt like pretty good quality items. They also have a little bit of kitchen stuff (plates, glasses, pots and pans), as well as a food section in the back with a lot of cool and unique stuff. Staff here was super friendly as well. I was really excited to go to this place after seeing the World Market food section at the Bed Bath & Beyond in Woodbridge. Although there was a plethora of home merchandise similar to Pier 1, I was only a bit underwhelmed because for some reason I was expecting more. Also, the Woodbridge BB&B had more food for some reason. Regardless, I really liked this store and luckily it is just over a half hour away and has some nice stores within the complex like TJ Maxx, DSW, and Nordstrom Rack. With all of these stores and the uniqueness of this store, it's definitely worth the trip if you've been wanting to go to World Market, considering this is the only location in the Northeast, with the closest being in the DC area. I would describe the store as Pier 1 style items, HomeGoods prices, along with unique foods similar to Trader Joe's. The food area would have to be my favorite part. So many unique candies and snacks from around the world (mostly Europe) as well as pasta sauces and other cooking needs. From this area, I ended up getting some candies, Guinness flavored potato chips, two Italian sodas, a Prince Polo candy bar from Poland, and some McVitie's Digestives cookies (which I first tried in London)! Other than this area, I only picked up a few other things. The main reason I wanted to come here were their really inexpensive and affordable tea tins. Teavana charges you anywhere from $6-$12 for a tin, where at World Market they have really nice ones in cool designs for just $2.99. I was a bit disappointed in their tea selection, because I am a bit of a tea snob and prefer loose teas over the mostly bagged variety WM offers. However, they had a very large selection of Numi and The Republic of Tea bags if that's your thing. I will stick to Adagio Teas for my loose tea needs. Next time when I actually need things for my apartment at college and/or my home, I will be coming back here. It's a really awesome place. Lastly. it's in a really odd location/ complex must be derived into to find all the stores. The backs of the stores are only visible from Route 10. Really nice and helpful staff too! read more

I absolutely love, love, love this place! I accidentally found it via pinterest only to discover that there was a new store in NJ which opened up in June. I went their a couple of weeks ago to purchase 1 item and ended up furnishing my entire guest room. I'm Indian and a lot of the items are from India so naturally I was in love. I can finally purchase a taste of home, locally :-). Their service is equally exceptional. I had an issue with a dresser I had purchased and needed to exchange it. I spoke with the store manager and the process was seamless. They provide the same quality of service as I expect from high end stores. I haven't told anyone about this place as I wanted to keep it all to myself but it's only fair to share it with the world. I can see this being my new obession. If you want beautiful items for an affordable price this place is it!!!! BTW, I would've rated this store 10 stars if it was allowable on Yelp. read more

As someone who is obsessed with home decor and aesthetics, I LOVE that this place is so close to me! They have a pretty great international foods selection, a varied "kitchen and dining" selection and great ideas for gifts. Especially with the holidays coming up, I will definitely visit this place again soon. I must say I was surprised by how small their lighting and home furnishings area was - i just assumed it would be more encompassing. But with that said I still thought it was awesome - they had adorable items for the bathroom, very interesting rugs and the pieces of furniture they did have all looked well made. There is a website component as well, so maybe there are more products available online? In either event. I love the vibes from this place. My prayers have been answered! I first visited a Cost Plus World Market in LA during one of my many family visits out west. I prayed and prayed to the gods that one would open in the east coast and it seems, sometimes, prayers get answered. The space is beautiful, clean, and the staff was very helpful. There is an amazing section in the back full of yummy food and snacks. My friend and I ended up back there buying a ton of snacks instead of looking for a coffee table, which was our actual reason for the visit. The space is packed tight so you really have to take a good look around. The souk area was a little small but I did score a cute pair of dangling earrings and two necklaces. I'm so glad there's a World Market nearby! I am definitely coming back! read more

Love this store for a lot of reasons, including the wide selection of food items, the inexpensive kitchen section, and the variety of offerings during the holiday season. The furniture department is solid too. The food area is really interesting. You certainly couldn't do a food shopping here, or even make a meal from what they offer, but man you could throw a heck of a good cocktail party. They have all sorts of delicious snacks and soft drinks that I haven't seen elsewhere. They would get five stars, but I've actually gotten some poor customer service here on more than one occasion. On the flip side, I've also gotten very good customer service, so it likely just depends on the shift. read more

I stopped by for some holiday gifts and Joe was a huge help searching for what I needed. I really wanted an advent calendar box and they were all filled with stuff (I had my little one with me so emptying it would have been a chore). He made sure to empty it and check to make sure I got the best box with no flaws! Stav helped me at check out and made sure I got my free wrapping paper with the text sign up! Seriously , if you want good customer service go to this world market location. It's the holiday season and most stores workers are cranky and not in the spirit but I'll tell you this place must be doing something right because not one staff member wasn't smiling or ready to help! I'll be back more often for gifts, I wish I hadn't finished all my shopping or I'd have bought more gifts there!!
