UPDATE 06/18/2025: went two weekends ago and got 2 more tattoos, fantastic job! Went really smoothly and got exactly what I wanted executed perfectly! Haven't been here in about a year, but I have had nothing but positive experiences the 4 times I've been! I'm not sure why there's a lot of negative reviews, my tattoos are still bold and holding strong, and the shop / artists were very professional. I plan on coming back soon (who doesn't want more tattoos), and will update this review, but this is by far the best tattoo shop in Oxford, and the area as far as I'm concerned! The vibe inside is very calm, and the artists make sure you're comfortable while getting your tattoo done. Highly recommend! read more

Cody did an amazing job on my first tattoo! He took an image I had of my dad, and made it into something I will cherish forever. Cody is a very talented artist, and I would definitely use them again for other tattoos. Everyone at the shop is great too! They're nice, friendly, and very professional. This was most definitely the worst experience... and I wasn't even the one getting the tattoo!!! I came in with my friend, it was her first time getting a tattoo. Immediately, we felt unwelcome by the dark headed guy with a beard at the front desk. My friend wanted a tiny word on the side of her finger, the guy did not work with her on sizing, fonts, and rushed her decision. When she finally got called to go back to get the tattoo, the guy was in a complete rush. Sloppily did the job. The word was uneven. There's spots missing with no ink. It's already fading (got it a month ago). He seemed annoyed with us? For asking questions? Having never gotten a tattoo before? - even never have gotten a tattoo before, I KNEW it was going to be horrible when he started working. The tattoo took a total of TWO minutes. I know this for a fact because I videoed the whole thing and that's how long the video is. Not to mention, the minimum tattoo price is $100, regardless of size. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO FEEL LIKE A BURDEN OR PUT IN A RUSH. read more

Its always a nice time to hang with Cody while he gives me the perfect art piece. He always double checks to make sure everything is exactly how I want it and is open to any changes or inputs in design. 10 out of ten recommend this shop! read more

I have received a tattoo from Oxford Tattoo previously and that workmanship was good. There were a few issues - tattoo was bigger than I wanted and they didn't want to reduce the size and there are spots missing ink that need touched up - but nothing that I couldn't deal with. However, this latest incident has me wondering how and why this place is still in business. I spoke with the owner, Doug, and made arrangements for a tattoo to be drawn and done by this shop. He couldn't do the tattoo immediately, for some unknown reason as there wasn't anyone in the shop at that time, but wanted to make an appointment. We discussed a price - $150-$200 approximately - and agree to do the tattoo on appointment. I couldn't make the appointment at that time because I was headed out of town for a week but came back, and made the appointment for Friday, July 19th at 6 p.m. At 2:30 that afternoon, I received a call from an employee stating that they couldn't do the tattoo. I asked why and they said, and I quote, "It was too much work" and Doug "didn't want to do it." I asked if it was the money aspect and was told no but "If I wanted to pay $350, they'll reschedule me to get it done." I told them thanks but no thanks. Strange thing was that the owner couldn't be bothered to pick up the phone and call me himself but was apparently standing next to the guy who he directed to call me. Definitely won't be giving this business any more of my money. Maybe it was better before the current ownership. read more

PLEASE don't believe your deposit will be valid anymore if you have to reschedule your appointment!!! The deposit is nonrefundable- which fine, whatever. But the sketch wasn't what I was looking for and with COVID and other things that came up I had to postpone my appointment- and now $75 is gone and they didn't inform me of ANY of this prior to my changing my appointment. read more

I went here to get my first tattoo (small script on my back) and they were so welcoming and chill. The atmosphere was very laid back, yet professional. I was obviously nervous but they made me feel very comfortable. The owner, Doug, did my tattoo and he was very great about explaining what he was doing and how I should take care of it afterwards. The place is very clean, the girl at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The Artists, both them do very good work. My daughter and I came in with ideas and within minutes he had it drawn and better than what we brought in. Reasonable prices for high quality work. Unless you're covered in tats, don't expect decent treatment from Doug. He doesn't want to do tattoos that are small. He was so rude and so completely unprofessional that we thought the other guy was the owner. Owners shouldn't act that way. He was making rude comments about us wanting small tattoos. Just make a freaking sign that says you don't do small tattoos. If he would've said he doesn't do them and this is why then it would have been fine. The fact that he was a grade a d bag made us want to spread the word. Go somewhere else if you want to be treated with respect. He doesn't respect anyone without full sleeves. read more
