Shayla was very responsive each time I reached out and was able to schedule each cleaning within a couple of days of me reaching out. She was diligent in checking in during and after each cleaning, even sending me photos of the job during my first cleaning when I was not local yet. A few days after I moved in, I needed someone to clean out debris from my two fireplaces due to a chimney-removal job. Shayla was able to send Martina right over -- though we had a small snafu with the type of vacuum that Martina had on hand -- the dust from the brick was so fine that the standard vacuum didn't have the proper filter to keep the dust from flying all over the first floor. But Martina was great and adjusted her methods with the second fireplace in our second floor. A few days after that, I had to call them AGAIN because I had spilled paint on my carpet. Needless to say, I will definitely be keeping Truly Fresh on speed dial for all my future special cleanings!

They sent a text at 8:19am asking to reschedule to Sunday at noon. On Sunday, I waited 2 hours, hearing various excuses such as bad traffic, engine issues and the cleaners not realizing how far the job was, even though the address was provided prior to scheduling any cleaning. Finally, I was told they could not make it on Sunday, but could be there at 8am on Monday. Because the closing was scheduled for 10am, I emphasized they MUST be on time. Of course, no one showed up and no one contacted me - same as Sunday when I had to contact them to ask where they were. Horrible communication and service. Choose anyone but them unless you want suspicious excuses and wasted time.

Stanley Steemer has hundreds of company-owned locations and locally owned franchises across the country. This particular location operates in the Pittsburgh area. Its services include cleaning carpet, air ducts, dryer vents, upholstery, tile and grout, hardwood, area rugs, etcetera. Unlike some competing businesses, for cleaning carpets, Stanley Steemer does not use steam but rather hot-water extraction. Their vacuum pumps hot water into carpets to release dirt from the fibers, and then powerful suction extracts the water and dirt. 2024 review: Through the business's website, I scheduled an appointment for cleaning carpet in my guest bedroom, upstairs hallway, and basement stairs in the morning. Many convenient times for available in the week, so I did not have to wait long for an appointment. Two employees, Dominick and Ray, called me when they were on their way, and they arrived at my house on time. They spoke very courteously to me, and they did an excellent job of cleaning my carpets. They connected their vacuum to the spigot in my garage, and they spent over one hour cleaning my carpets. My carpets had old stains from the previous homeowner and from my dog and cats, and the employees were able to remove most of the stains. 2026 review: I made an online appointment for an arrival window of noon to 4 PM. The first email confirmation said my correct city, but their second/reminder email said an incorrect city. On the day of the appointment, Stanley Steemer called and texted me that they were on their way and would arrive at 10:30 AM! I hurriedly got ready for their arrival. Two employees, Johnny and Wilbur, arrived. The one who was in charge walked through my house to look at the carpets, added up the total price with a coupon, and he pressured me to add on a deodorizer, which I declined. They spent 1 hour 45 minutes cleaning my carpet in 6 rooms, 1 walk-in closet, 1 hallway, and 1 stairwell. (They did NOT have to move any furniture.) The employee in charge said that they removed a lot of cat hair from my carpet, and he pressured me to adding on ScotchGuard for stain protection, which I declined. He commented on the cost to replace the carpet. He asked me if I have any children, etcetera. I walked through the rooms, and I saw that some pet stains were removed, and others were not but probably could have been removed if they had tried. He asked me to sign three agreements on his tablet without showing me the on-screen text. The total price for the carpet cleaning, tax, and tip minus a 15% online coupon was $495. (A competing company would have cost more according to their online estimate.) I used my credit card to pay, and they thanked me.

Jason and his team renovated the whole basement by installing drywall, replacing the drop ceiling with a conventional ceiling and new lighting, and covering the entire floor with functional but attractive laminate. They went above and beyond to make sure we were involved in the design and satisfied with the results. In addition, they replaced our kitchen floor, which had some water damage, with beautiful ceramic tile to complement the existing quartz counters. This is the second major project Jason has done for us. He previously remodeled a bathroom for us, replacing all the fixtures and flooring, as well as installing a pocket door. We are very happy with all the work that was done and would highly recommend Building Buddies.
