They are easier to keep clean, staff are sometimes more helpful, and you don't have to arrive as early. One thing to note is to NOT take the taxi from the airport. Despite airport staff recommending it, it's a scam. It was $25 per person. It's WAY easier and cheaper to get an Uber or Lyft.

I arrived at KEUF just before sunset on a business trip. As I was securing my airplane, Grace, the airport manager, appeared with her dog and cat in tow and provided some great recommendations for lodging and dinner. Eufaula is a small city with no taxi cabs or Uber, but Grace has a small courtesy car available for overnight guests. Courtesy cars used to be commonplace at general aviation airports, but in the past several years, they have all but disappeared. The combination of expense, liability, and the regrettable abuse of these vehicles by inconsiderate guests has made the courtesy car a rarity these days. But not in Eufaula! The following week, I had the opportunity to spend another night in Eufaula on my way BACK from my trip and once again, had the good luck to enjoy the use of the courtesy car, the economical comfort of the Econo Lodge, and Grace's flawless hospitality. A final note about the airport itself - the runway, ramp, and self serve fueling area are all in excellent condition, but the tie down ropes on the ramp tie down spaces are either absent or substantially dry rotted from age, so bring your own tie down ropes / chains / ratcheting straps.

STUPID to have to pay $45 to get through security with a regulary ID that hasn't been upgraded to a real ID. They don't do any additional screenings to ensure you're a REAL non-threatening person... u just pay $45 and then they look at your regular ID to check your name against your reservation... lol. BUT the airport itself is great! SMALL airport, security is a BREEZE and the TWO little gates are perfect. Allegiant flight was delayed and they put out waters and soft drinks for us so that was a nice gesture from Allegiant. The airport is just so convenient, I will gladly use this one ANY time I can over Columbus, just from the pure convenience aspect of parking and getting to the gate quickly. I will have to drive father and past Columbus to get to this one, and parking is $4/day more expensive, but I will do it every time!!!

So first it must be said, there are no "hundred dollar hamburgers" to be found at this little regional airport. There is always the Magnolia Grill just down the road in Havana (watch out for one of Havana's finest just after you cross the tracks on the way back to Quincy however).
