What a quaint little airport. You just walk off the airplane, across the tarmac and into a single terminal airport that size of a large home. It has one little restaurant and a small gift and snack shop. In seventy five yards you deplaned and are standing in front of the airport waiting for your Uber. This airport basically services Ft. Rucker, the home of army aviation. I found it clean, simple and fun. It would take hundreds of these to make Denver International Airport. A++++++ for this pocket sized airport. Good airport overall, but the PAPIs on runway 14 really need an overhaul. Would fly a CRJ in here again though.

Very simple airport in and out of. It's never busy well compared to other airports. TSA is extremely friendly there great experience.

I think this is the smallest airport I've been through. I don't know if they have any food or drink. All I saw were vending machines. You literally walk off the plane onto the tarmac, then into the one sitting room and out the door. On the way back in to leave DHN there is only one line for security and it took all of 3 minutes. There are technically 3 gates but you all sit in one area with one podium. Our flight was delayed, but that's because I think only Delta services this airport and only out of and into Atlanta. read more

Vending machines don't work, no options for food besides the vending machines past security. "Gift shop" is never open. Restaurant outside security is rarely open. read more

it's clean I guess. when J research the airport online it says 24/7. it isn't it opens at 4am. So if you have a flight early and run into issues, to bad. All amendities are outside Checkin so once you get through TSA don't expect to get anything to eat or drink. Some good friends of mine tried to catch a flight and showed up within the baggage check in window, but were denied checked baggage, despite a family right next to them being allowed to check their bags. They ended up having to drive 3.5 hours to Atlanta, only to find out that the check-in agent denied their bags because she felt my friend had a "bad attitude". The check in agents should really abide by the actual rules and not what they feel like doing that day. Shame on them for being unprofessional. read more

Most racist airport I have been through; my bag was checked even though I had noting to be checked. A person who had 3 laptops and other electronics was allowed to go through just fine since he looked innocent meaning he was Caucasian. Later on I had to go through the checkpoint again due to the restroom being before out of the checkpoint and I was randomly selected for having my electronics checked. I was the only person who fit a certain colors description and was targeted by TSA. Others who used the restroom were allowed to keep their belongings on the checkpoint side and walk away from their belongings even though TSA has a strict policy to take your belongings. I asked if I could leave my belongings but was told to take them. Then another person who did not look like the others had to go through the full body scanner. About an hour later he had to go through the checkpoint again due to using the restroom and had to go through the full body scanner again. This airport has some of the least bright individuals working there. Please have this airport retrain their TSA agents on profiling since these same individuals get profiled by law enforcement when they leave work. read more

This is definitely a rinky-dink local airport, but I don't really think it deserves all the poor reviews. Maybe they've just been slow to adopt more of the major airport practices, but I had no issues today with checking a bag for free as a service-member or with pre-check. I mean, the only thing pre-check does for you at DHN is allow you to keep your shoes on when going through security, but let's be serious: there aren't enough people flying out of here to make the security process that trying of an ordeal. And sure, there are no restrooms beyond security, but either wait until closer to your boarding time to go through security or until you get on the plane. Problem solved. Given the size of the airport, there really isn't much to complain about, unless 2 of the 3 kiosks at ticketing are inop, as they were when I checked in. The gentleman in front of me in line advised a heavier-set female behind the counter that the kiosks seemed to be out of paper, and I may have misheard her, but it sounded like she said "Obviously". Whatever it actually was, she was visibly and audibly annoyed by his pointing this out. Other than that, it would be nice if airlines other than Delta flew out of here and it wasn't so expensive (I would consider driving a few hours to Atlanta first), but it's clean, calm, and relatively painless, and parking is inexpensive. Additionally, the staff, with the one afore-mentioned exception, is extremely pleasant, AND my flight left early. read more

I have yet to have a flight out of Dothan that wasn't delayed. I have missed so many connections in Atlanta because the planes either have a maintenance issue or they just don't take off on schedule. Last night I was denied boarding because they added too much fuel and then my flight the next morning was delayed and made me miss my connection. I am seriously considering just driving to Atlanta and flying from there from now on. read more

First, TSA precheck is a thing, in case you didn't know. This airport doesn't know. If you can't participate in this day and age, just shut the doors and people can drive to a real airport. Secondly, you seriously don't have public restrooms or water fountains inside of the secure area? I can understand not having vendors, even though even that seems silly, but to not have a water fountain or restrooms? That's absolutely absurd. And to top it all off, Delta is the only airline that offers service here, and it costs an arm and a leg. Fix yourselves, Dothan Airport and TSA. Tsa precheck means nothing here. I am 1 of 10 people getting on this plane. Basically a 1 gate airport. Staff made a big deal about everything. Went through both of my daughters bags. Took all her stuff out. She sat there on the floor to re pack both her bags. As I am typing they are going through half of these peoples bags. Ridiculous. Never flying in or out of here. Just trying to be convenient for family visit. read more

Nice little ( I do mean little ) airport. The people are very nice BUT the airport opens at 9AM...I had an early flight so I had to wait until 9am for the restaurant, the airline counters, TSA, and rental cars to open. Other than that, its A-OK. read more

Its a really simple airport. A few check ins, one security point and one gate. Its really simple to just go and do everything that showing up a hour before your flight is still enough time. They seem a bit slow at doing things but outside of that its a simple airport. There are negative comments about the workers but thats not a reflection of the airport. I would say though... TSA could be a bit more chill... because seriously its just a regional airport. read more

It's very easy to check-in and go through security at DHN. Staff has always been pleasant. I've been randomly selected for various screenings, and employees have been polite and professional each time. Overall, it's worth it to me to spend a little bit extra $ so I don't have to drive 4 hours on either side of my flight in and out of Atlanta. read more

This airport is strange because it only has one carrier and pretty much only open for the Delta flights. There also not much to do or see here so don't come here early. Other than that it is clean and small. I suppose if you live in Dothan, you don't got much a choice unless you willing to drive a couple of hours. read more

WORSE airport! I fly all over and I have been to a ton of airports...customer service is never pleasant and they closed the gates 10mins before actual time the plane pushes back. It was Christmas Day and I had 3mins to still make the plane,yet they refused to open it up and allow me in. The plane sat there for an extra 5mins! They are lazy and don't care about the customers. The airport is fine and I have used it in the past on several occasions, however, the cost of such a local convenience is astronomical - especially now that there is another airport opened that is more convenient than Birmingham. If you pick Dothan instead of driving to Panama City - you will pay about double the cost for your flight. Not really worth it. I generally drive to Birmingham, Atlanta, or Panama City despite the proximity of the Dothan Regional Airport. It is simply too expensive to fly with them and the airline options are completely limited. (Delta only airport) read more

The staff is friendly but every flight is always delayed. Because it's a small airport, once you go through security there's no bathrooms, no food or drink options (other than the broken vending machines). Delays are normally long enough that any layover planned will mostly be a rush to get to or you will have to reschedule. There's no on call mechanic so problems cause major issues read more

This poor little airport is lacking. The restaurant is only open on certain days and hours like tiny small towns. So you're out of luck if you are there and have a wait and want to relax and grab a bite or just sit with a cup of coffee. Same thing with the gift shop. This underscores that you are definitely in a SMALL town. Avoid if you can and just use the Panama City Beach airport. Tickets are less expensive and there's full amenities. read more

Small town friendly airport! No long lines thru TSA, only 1 plane leaves a gate at a time. Sadly, the small plane ( 14 rows) and short trip to ATL, Deltas hub means NO services on the plane. That being said, it would sure be GREAT if DHN/DELTA would put vending machines with water/drinks/snacks on the secure side waiting area. Some of us do not have time to stop and get something at ATL, and we end up on another 30-45 min flight without services. read more

Such bad reviews for an airport I fly round trip approximately 5 times a month.....they do a great job, its easy to get thru security. For the people that want convenience for yourself then drive or get your own personal plane....Its not all about convience anymore...better take a look around and see what is going on in the world today. I appreciate the security and inconvienve it may cause some of you....yes its a small airport, where did you think you traveling from ATL...the only reason I did not give it a 5 star is only 2 out of all the tomes I have flown out of there does the drink machine work. The reviews of this airport appear to come from over-privileged individuals; seriously, take a Xanax or something...and get over yourself. I love flying into/out-of this airport. It's easy and it's worth the money (I maybe spend $150 more..) and time....I don't relish another 4 hour drive after I've arrived in Atlanta. You can literally arrive 45 minutes before your flight...and not even go through security until they begin boarding....wow! I'm a GENIUS! I solved ALL of your problems...get a water/snack, go to the bathroom, and THEN go through security! And it's FASTER than any airport's TSA pre-check! WOW! And if you don't want a tight connection in ATL...here's another genius idea...don't buy a ticket that has a tight connection (Mind = Blown). Also, the town of Dothan doesn't warrant another airline coming in...there's not enough people who fly out of it. I fly ALL the time and never have issues...I also ensure I'm aware of what I need to do in order to ensure a swift/painless TSA process...and I even have a pacemaker! So if you don't like flying out of here...don't...or else change what you do when you fly out because I'm pretty sure the problem is YOU (those who gave poor reviews) and not the airport.
