It's just about the right size -big but not too big, know what I mean? Plenty of food and artisan booths to choose from. Vendor choices include plenty of fruit and vegetable farmers, plus baked goods, grocery items, dog treats, ceramic tiles, flowers, seafood, honey, soaps, granola, coffee, spices and more. We picked up six apple cider donuts from Worcester's Crust Bake Shop and a bottle of fiery Black Sambal Indonesian Hot Sauce from Worcester's Bali Marle. I had a teeny tiny sample on a teeny tiny spoon and coughed for 30 seconds !!!!!! Can't wait to add some to my next stir fry. If you are ever in the area when the Sturbridge Farmers Market is open, you really need to work it into your schedule. It's that good !

I politely said hi as she picked up the phone, no response even after she hung up from her phone call. I inquired about if they were organic bc there is a sign that says hormone free etc, she just blandly said no bc they give their cows grain, and that was the end of that. They have good products but it's hard to support local farms when the people working there seem to not give a shit about the people walking in the door. Number one rule of sales: sell the company, sell yourself, sell the product. She didn't do any of these things. The eggnog is pretty good, really thick, I like it. But they could work on their enthusiasm for their customers, and customer service hell even a smile would have been nice.

And fresh cut flowers. And meat from the animals that they raise on their farm. And they sell it at competitive prices. Not with exorbitant mark ups. The jam being sold was made in some ones kitchen - not at some mini factory. Same with the baked goods. It's held up on Academy Hill in Westminster. A big grassy field that you can easily sit down in. Live music on the band stand. Quite a few trees that provide shade for those hot days.

I now take my boys here every year. And I plan on continuing the tradition with them. Fond memories of penny candy, and apple dumplings with vanilla ice cream. And the merry -go-round and swings and those super fast and hot slides rofl. The beauty of the orchard and of course the tasty apples! They have their own cheese and fresh baked goods including different sized trays of their always good apple pie dumplings that you can buy to go or you can go to the building outside for refreshments and sit at the picnic tables. But be warned, the yellow jackets are everywhere. They don't tend to sting unless they have been irritated but it's hard to sit still when they are crawling on your foot or drink. Though I don't mind sharing, this isn't what I had in mind. But that's nature. You can always escape to your car to finish your refreshment s and head back out to check out their gift shop or antiques area! It's also a beautiful walk on the road at the orchard as well with gorgeous views of sunset and apple trees just before closing. They of course have many events for the public like book fairs, and festivals of all kinds so it's wise to follow their Facebook page! Brookfield orchard has been a family owned and operated business since 1918! I hope they continue to get the support they need to stay open. It truly is a nice place to go to spend a couple of hours and support a small business. Be sure to leave with some tasty apples, apple cider and those amazing apple dumplings! I really felt that was a very good value Because it's directly from the farmer. They had a lot of good deals today. They are fresh local meats and cheeses pies from humble pie company and waffle. At first I was a little frazzled when I realized you need to order on the website and then come down and pick it up. This was no problem. I called back from the parking lot, placed my order, and they brought it out and put it in my car. I'm sure if it was a busy time this may have taken longer. Bottom line: they are doing this the right way. I had no physical contact with anyone so all i needed to do was wash the groceries when I got home, which I do anyway! Great service. Decent selection for a country store. Friendly and helpful staff. Much safer than going to the grocery store for us and for them. I highly recommend this business.
