I've never meet a more rude and unorganized group of individuals. I have been a part of plenty of focus groups, but this one has the most incompetent and condescending staff I've ever come across. I've been doing these survey's for years!! The only gripe I have is actually "qualifying" for them on the phone interview. I normally go thru the questions with them on the phone and then after about 5-10 minutes the girl goes "well sorry you won't be qualifying for this survey but we'll keep your name handy". I go "wait, what did I answer wrong?" and they can never tell you what they were looking for! The pay is good, the location is convenient and it's pretty damn easy money! So CALL ME Peryam & Kroll! I've been a "tester" here for many years. My kids are even "testers." My problem with them is that they don't pay much compared to other similar companies. Also, when I called well in advance to cancel an appt my son had, they gave me a very hard time. My son had an unexpected foot injury and was on crutches. We had to follow up with his doctor the same day, so I had to cancel. First time we ever canceled anything there. The woman was very rude, demanded to know if my son was "incapacitated". She demanded to know why he couldn't call himself to cancel and demanded that I hang up and HE called back himself. Excuse me. He is 11 years old! Then she tried to find another study for him, even though I told her that he was injured and wasn't interested in anything else right now. Then she put me on hold yet another time to try to find a study for ME that same day, even though I told her I had to bring my son to the doctor. It took me almost 15 minutes on the phone with this woman, trying to simply cancel!! Ridiculous! There are also times where they will call you, you answer, and they ask YOU what YOU want, even though they are the ones that called you. Or they will call you to let you know that they will call you when they have something available. Half of the time the people that call you are eating something or giggling with their friends about something. read more

Hi I have been a responded client for about 1 year and I love making extra money and especially when p&k call me I get excited because it's fun and I can make extra money at the same time. Well I had a bad experience yesterday when an unfriendly unprofessional employee who was making trouble while working on there clock cameras were rolling proof is in there face how the unfriendly staff has tried to approach me and harm me with words. Very unprofessional on her behalf. She shouts out across the room with many more clients whom were waiting on surveys also in her angry voice. I was able to participate in one study and it was a pretty pleasant experience. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable, explaining the whole process and how to participate in that particular taste testing. My only issue with this company (and the reason I gave only 3 stars) is that since the one time I participated in a study, I have gotten at least 8 emails to screen for a study and every time I select the bubble stating that I participated in a study within the past 3 months, I cannot go further. The system says that based on my answers, basically I don't qualify. It's a little irritating, so last week when I got a call from one of their reps to see if I was interested in participating in a study, I told him I had been taking the surveys and how I've been getting the message that i don't qualify after selecting the 3 month bubble. Then I asked him if there was a rule or something that you can't participate in more than one study in a 3 month period or something. He told me that there isn't, bla bla bla. And I was going to ask another question after that, but guess what? HE HUNG UP ON ME. Very unprofessional. read more

If you like to get paid for having an opinion... This is where you want to be! I found a study through my friends Facebook page and thought "Hey, why not?" It was so easy. I gave them a call, they took some of my information, and I qualified just like that! The experience starting from my first phone call, to going into the office, then attending the study went smooth. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The cherry on top of it all was I got paid for it! I would definitely recommend them to my family and friends. I will of course be keeping an eye out for myself as well!! read more

I've been attending studies here since is was a kid and I'm surprised at the low scores. Get a call.... Show up 15 min before .... get money I see that people complain about the constant calling, staffing and the decor of the building, that's just funny to me. I've never really had confrontation there but I'm a generally friendly person when I go in staff has handled themselves excellently and it seems more organized with all the fancy computers. As for its 80's theme I've noticed less personally and the rooms we were so called "herded" in to are what they should be white, white and.... white. On occasion for a test I took they dressed the room as a social place and we got to talk and test. To finish I think if you read all these review you can gather one thing If you need a little cash to help you buy a few drinks on the weekend this is your place your in out and on with your day. read more

I just called this Anna they asked me to call from their quality assurance and low and behold ...NO anna works there. They said they would look into my complaint and I request they unban me. Yes I have been banned for speaking up for being wronged by this company. Well the person I spoke to sounded like she was sincere and would look into getting me unbanned even though she denied I was banned (another lie and red flag). I tested here for many years. The best part about this company is the front desk receptionist she is absolutely excellent she couldn't be any nicer.. but the problem lies with the The people that monitor the tests , they don't want to be there, they don't want to be working and give attitude -so rude and disrespectful ...they'll talk down to you . On two separate occasions over the past 10 years I had an issue with Shanika ( she monitors the testers) ...and that , was her name. Threw attitude; telling people if they wanted her to respond they needed to call her Miss Shanika , shouting at ( even while the test was going) people to "just shut up, and sit down", "was i talking to you?", " excuse me?" As she waived her finger in the air , with that head/ neck jerk as she got in ur face. She liked like to get all the rest of the testers involved talking smack about what happened .. she was not professional , she was swearing, condescending, belittling fellow testers as well as myself...her last remark was " im gonna get ur ass kicked out otta here" and stormed out the door towards (quality control = kinda like HR ) now, this is on the middle of the study... I had enough and got up and was right behind her heading to quality control office (his office is right around corner from the front desk) and let me tell you , I am not sure where they found him.. but I've worked in corporate America for 20 years and never seen such unprofessionalism in my entire life , he couldn't even speak complete sentences ( english is his first language ,if you know where I'm going with that ) he was a total joke didn't know what he was doing. In the middle of the waiting room ( over 50 people there waiting for their other tests to go into witnessing it all) she was yelling, swearing pointing her finger shaking her head again. Telling her side of what happened , but leaving out very important details of what she said/did ( like a 6 yr old). I finally said can we step into another room for all of us to speak privately. And the quality control guy said we don't need to , "never had a problem with her before ", she's always had my back and you need to apologize to her and ask her to forgive you and see if she'll allow you back in the test.....I have to say my mouth dropped in disbelief . I said "are you kidding me , do you want to know what happened? I'm guessing there was something going on between them or one was covering the other ...something it was crazy ( like I was being punked and it was a set up joke) the other employees that were there witnessing it as well as the other people in the waiting room were in disbelief and shocked. I just finally said you know what I don't need money this bad I'm not gonna be treated like this and this is ridiculous. Two of the other employees that seen me there over the years that knew me pretty well , pulled me aside and asked if I was ok and if I needed anything ( thank you to both of them- sweet hearts) they agreed it was handled completely wrong. This is the type of shady stuff that goes in there more often than not and I have witness others being paraded , belittled , disrespected and I thought it was something they did clearly there's an issue with the staffing. I refuse to return, it's a shame after almost 10 years doing studies for them on consistent basis. read more

Well after speaking with an extremely unprofessional and annoying person and asked a boatload of questions, same answer. I have been going to P&K Research for several years but the last few years it has been very uncomfortable to go there for surveys, almost all the staff are female and the most GROSS and DISGUSTING and VERY CREEPY females work there, so their is no way to avoid these Creepy things. but it is such easy and quick money sometimes you just have to tolerate it as best you can. This is the most dysfunctional company I have participated in taking research studies. Starting with the recruiters all the way to the top. Of course you can never get to the top with this company because they shield themselves from the lower end of the company and put it into the hands of employees that are not decision makers. It is probably to much of a headache. The pay for these studies is very low. Very hard to understand what some of the recruiters are saying (communication skills are low)? The owners probably do not want to hire employees with skills. You frequently get disconnected ( on the company end) and have to start the survey process from the start. They constantly send you annoying emails...If you are desperate for money? This is the place to go. read more

My mom signed me up for Peryam and Kroll taste test surveys when I was 10. Back then they seemed a little more respectful and called less frequently. When I went off to college I gave them my cell phone number because I figured that I could use the extra money every once and awhile. I am now a young professional with a mon-fri 9-5 schedule and they are literally calling me twice a day asking me if I can do a survey with only an hours notice in the middle of the day for the measly amount of $ 30. Sometimes I go through with the questionaire if I can make the time but rarely do I qualify. Its seems like they call for demographics that I obviously dont qualify for. Dont they have record of my age/allergies/income? I swear they used to. The staff is rude and they basically look like they have just been let out of prison. There was one staff member that conducted a survey that couldnt even make it through the 45 minute survey wothout a ciggarette break so she left and came back making the tiny room reek of smoke...yeah that makes the food seem appetizing. Of all the research and focus groups, these guys are the cheapest! They will call with a very annoying recording. Then you have to call them back. They called me at least 100 times in a year and I only qualified for 2 groups. It's easy money but in my opinion, not worth the small amounts they offer. read more

I have done one focus group here, and it went ok. They have a parking lot, but I didn't know if I could use it since the woman who screened me didn't mention it. She actually started talking before I answered my phone, so she was mid-conversation when I answered and had to ask her to stop and repeat who she was and what she was talking about. She didn't mention the location address, and though she seemed out of it, she ended up being pleasant enough that I felt good about it. They do not pay well, relative to other companies, but it's still easy money if and when you can get in. I went in for a whiskey tasting, and they even gave a small bonus to my DD for going. The whole thing took about half an hour, and they aren't there to waste your time, they just want feedback. The workers weren't rude, but they did seem a bit distracted which I expect from any entry-level office job worker where you deal with strangers all day every day. It's a bit far of a drive, so I'll consider payment amount next time, but I'm glad I did it. Cherry whiskey...who knew? read more

Recorded call around 3:00pm today. The women I spoke to about a study was not paying attention to our conversation. She asked for my phone number, then my email. I gave her both. Then she asked for my email again. She didn't say I couldn't hear you or I didn't get your email, please repeat. It was like she wasn't paying attention. I said I just gave you my email, I was thinking maybe she needs another security question? We talked about going to Safety Harbor, 3:30 tomorrow. She said do I understand the procedure? Go to Safety Harbor at 3:30, this is my first time. I'm thinking is there more, I don't know. She hung up. I didn't even get a chance to say, I guess I don't know the procedure. I'm wondering if this is a scam because she was pretty unprofessional. read more

I went a couple weeks ago for a cookie-tasting. 3 days, an hour a day, $90.00 payout cash. Was doing 2 other surveys downtown during those days, so I figure why not? I had a good experience, met some cool people. It was all on laptop computers, the staff were nice to us... The first day we were there for the full hour, the next 2 days we were out of there in about 30 minutes. Would go back if they call again! read more

Worse visit ever there today. It was a Saturday and they were looking for adults and kids 8-12 years old for cereal. It was a huge crowd of people all waiting to check-in and also waiting to get paid. There was only one person working the desk with no other help. I felt bad for her. Stood in line for over 20 minutes for my daughter to get paid for her survey. Not worth it. Too many people in one room and very disorganized to make it a pleasant experience. read more

I don't get though some of these reviews that talk negatively about the testers they see in the waiting room. Who gives a F? Check-in, sit your ass down and wait, do the testing, get your cash, and go home. Real simple. Why are you concerned about the other people? Get some headphones. Read a book. Went for the first time to for a taste test on fries. The pay wasn't as great as others that I've tried before ($40) but they don't waste your time. The place isn't great looking but I can't complain. I don't understand the comments about the rude staff. The front desk receptionists were real welcoming and nice, the staff member conducting the test seemed a bit loud at times but I feel like it's because some volunteers can't follow simple instructions. At one point the conductor had to repeat the same thing aloud to 7 different people who apparently weren't paying attention, it was comical really. Everything was done on computers through questionaires and open-ended questions regarding you're feedback on the samples. Everything is simple to follow, I would come again in the future; just wish the location wasn't as far as it is. read more

This is in regards to the woman that checks you in I attended a taste test on Friday 6/17/2011 at 6:30 p.m . First of all when I walked in the woman at the desk abruptly told me to sit down she will call me. So I went to the ladies room. When I came back she was not busy and I went up to the desk again to sit down. Again "lady sit down I will call you" She was so rude to every one who came up to her to sign in it was the talk of the room. She kept slamming the phone and yelling out loud because It seemed to be the people who call you to screen you has brouhgt in more tasters than normal. Probably to upset her. I was out of work 90 weeks other people there were unemployed also. The talk was she is representing this company for Clients. Important clients. Anyone of us would be glad to sit behind that desk and check in testers. How dare she be so rude to many of us. How dare she work for a well known company who represents many clients. This truly could affect this business. In this economy who needs that. So next time you go to a taste test beware you might get screemed at. As I understand there has been many complaints. Really! This is what we teach our children and young people about working in society. Shame on her and the company for letting this constantly happen. read more

P&K is a great way to make some easy cash! I've been going there since I was a little kid. I have tried all kinds of good stuff like chips and alcohol. How cool is that? They call me a lot (but not to the point where it's annoying), so even if I don't qualify, I still have lots of chances to get on a study. The staff is friendly and helpful and I'm usually in and out of there in under an hour. All together good experience, I can't wait for them to call again! Going into this I was a little apprehensive because of all the reviews I read online. Now those reviews may have been true in the past but today in the present I gotta say I LOVED MY EXPERIENCE. From the moment I walked through their door to the moment I left I was shown nothing but respect. I even told the girl up front that those reviews were so false it was pathetic & she told me that might have been true in the past but not today. Here's how my day went: I took the number 76 Diversey bus to Logan Square transferred to the Blue line toward O'hare. Got off at Harlem where I transferred to the number 80 bus which dropped me off right in front of P&K Research. So my friends if your wondering if you should do this I'd say go for it only thing that could possibly go wrong is you get a nasty taste test like Pumpkin Cookies. LOL. My test were for Planters Peanuts Salt & Vinegar flavor which were delicious to the taste. Thanks P&K & call me I want to do this again. read more

P&K rep called and left a voice mail that she has a survey for me. Her message couldn't be understood till I listened it 7-8 times and then called them back. She didn't even left their full phone number. I went online and got the number. The male person who picked the phone had a clear voice and asked me to call on 1800-281-3155. I called and spoke with an Erin. Again I could listen her voice not very clearly. She said she has scheduled me for Thursday 1/2/2012 at 3.00pm and I will be paid $35.00 for a 75 minute survey. I said fine. She said I need to answer exactly in the way I filled the form. I said fine. Suddenly she said she wants to ask me some questions. I said okay. She asked me the same question and I gave her the same answer. She said sorry you are not qualified. We will call you again. I understood that their is something shady that they are into. I would not trust them or recommend them. Unprofessional and misinforming plus the excuse is that their phone line is not clear. Just imagine. I did surveys focus groups with other companies and they are awesome. This is not professional or sincere. P&K Research will take advantage of your time in ways you do not expect, and you will not get paid for it. When we heard of P&K research it seemed like a good opportunity for my then 14 year old daughter to earn some occasional money. Fairly soon after she signed up, she was invited to do a study that took a couple of hours and was paid $30. After that, they called quite a few times and asked her questions for about 10 to 15 minutes under the premise that they wanted to know if she qualified for a study. After many questions, they would say, " Sorry, that study just filled up". Actually, what they had done was use her for a study over the phone under the guise of it being a chance to make some money in a study. This happened many times before I realized what was happening. They are so phony! Four years later and they still call just to question. Now we just hang up. If you have time to waste and you like doing surveys, sign up with them. If you like getting random calls at all hours to be interrogated, you will love this place. It could be your favorite waste of time. read more

Wow... Let me start by saying me and five members of my family have been clients of p and k the past eight years... About two weeks ago I qualified for a alcohol study.. Spent about twenty minutes of my valuable time on the phone which ended up being a complete waste... First the study was cancelled the day it was scheduled.. Second the guy told me on the phone 70$ when it was really 40$... So canceling without 24 hours do they compensate me? Absolutely not! So I called quality assurance and spoke to a guy named Charles. ( extremely rude) I asked him about getting me into a study without me spending the 20 minutes time again or compensated me the money... He said it's not the company's fault it's the clients fault ( meaning the alcohol company) He didn't say sorry for the inconvenience or I will sign you up for another study immediately... I mean come on!! Is this customer service?? He's supposed to be the customer service expert! I then told him to take me off the list of p and k and I will no longer be a client nor my family.. I'm having all my family members call and cancel membership.. I'm tired of them calling me ten times a week anyways for some 30 dollar study.. Which costs me about 7 bucks gas to get there... I'm very upset how I was treated.. It's bad enough I spent ten to fifteen minutes on the phone and not qualify.. Then when I finally qualify. They tell me the incorrect amount of money and cancel and the day of !!! Doing rough math.. I didn't qualify for about three studies prior to this alchol test.. That's 1hour I spent on the phone listening to there procedures which I heard a million times, and I didn't receive one dollar!!... I will be telling my friends not to go there anymore... i do these things at many places. bottom of the totem poll. warning: if you do a morning tasting, know that i had to eat chips and salsa at 11 am and it was really gross. the staff is sub par. the facility is pure 80s and not in a good way. they are now calling w/ automation and your call back wait time is long. find it hard to sometimes resist the cash for short jobs, but really, this place is gross across the board. the waiting room is like a bus station. read more
