Put in an RFQ to Tinting Chicago for PPF/Tinting services for my 2025 Lexus RX500, and received a phone call a few minutes ago, despite clearly identifying email as my preferred method of contact. An unproductive conversation ensued. References made to current discounting adverts listed on the website were dismissed as 'former promotions' that were strangely lacking expiration dates. How could a promotion end without a website revision or an indication anywhere of an expiration date? I was then requested to send a photo of the website to the unsolicited caller to verify the advert I had and was currently seeing. I complied and was told that what was advertised wasn't currently on offer, yet no effort seemingly made to honor the promotion offered on the website that we both were, by then, seeing. Deciding to side with my lying eyes over the lying, duplicitous, prevaricating voice on the phone, I promptly ended the call mid-conversation and decided to phone another tinting installer. I found this place through Yelp and I will say it was so easy to schedule and get my windows tinted. They let me know the day I scheduled it could take up to 3hrs, but I was out in 1.5hrs. Brought in my BMW X5 to get two windows tinted. After a few days, I thought there were still some bubbles and they took it back in (no questions asked) and fixed it. Also got my reflectors wrapped and even though I didn't know which film to use, they wrapped my left reflector with one film and the right reflector with another film so I could decide which I liked more. I Contacted Tinting Chicago and received a quote of $315 for the premium ceramic tint on sale for my wagon. I arrived and was told my the gentleman at the counter that the price was actually $399 because the car was a wagon. I told him that I had communicated with the young lady with whom I spoke that I had a wagon. The gentleman proceeded to get his manager or higher up who again told me the same thing- that because I didn't tell them it was a wagon, the price was higher. I proceeded to pull up the appointment confirmation email from Alex that clearly shows the word "wagon" in the email and subject. I did not miscommunicate. As I had already take off work and driven 40 minutes to their location I still wanted the tint. I offered to split the difference with them: I would pay $37.50 more than I was quoted, and they would discount the price $37.50. Seemed fair; we both compromise. They proceeded to not only tell me no, but that now they couldn't do it today anyways because I had now missed my appointment window- to say nothing of the fact that I arrived 10 minutes early and we talked for no more than 10 minutes. So I needed to get my new car some tints, so best place to look was here on Yelp. So after seeing few places I was happy finding this place. They had a lot of pictures as great reviews. So I text the place three here and they responded rite away what they offer and everything. So I made my appointment early cuz I'm a early person. When I got there the place was still closed but in a few they open and I had two people infront of me regarding some other jobs they do. I was the first for tint and I lest it there like 2 hours almost on there relax seating area. But at least they should offer coffee or water and turn the tv on for the customers ‍. But something was making me knock out maybe the smell of car running or something around the air there. So my appointment was at 8am and the finished by 950am so it was fast. What I like is they call your name when your car is done and they parked it infront of there business. So I got the ceramic tint and charge me 370$ when I saw my car I said wow looks so beautiful has some bubbles but they said it's normal and I said do you guys have warranty on this the young men said yes. So I was happy on everything they did and the work they did putting my tints. I would successfully recommend this people for tints very professional and fast. They did a great job removing tinting from a car I purchased. Very difficult job because they had to remove it from the rear window heating element which is very touchy and hard to do. The reason for the 2-star review? Car was done in 45 minutes and I had to wait an extra 2 hours because they were working on other cars and mine was boxed into the garage. They have a zillion cameras of the garage and a monitor in the lobby so you could watch the work and see the problem. When I brought it to the attention of the guy working there he looked at me and didn't answer like I wasn't even a customer and went back to typing on his computer. I watched and the job itself only took 45 minutes yet I had to wait almost 2 hours after that. Combine it with crappy customer service and I won't be coming back for tires or anything else. There are simply better options in this part of town, a lot of the Hispanic run car places that provide similar services are far cheaper and won't make you wait and are friendlier. read more
