We should have gotten the ducts cleaned before installing an in-duct booster fan, but we didn't think of it, so we needed the cleaners to be extra careful with their rotating brushes in that area. They came out 3-2-26. [I deleted the rest of my review, but the photos can' be deleted - they show dirt that showed up on our filter 2 months later. I don't know how or when the brush ended up there -- but I do know that a thorough duct cleaning should have found and removed it, and Capitol's did not. When I called to raise this, they denied any responsibility and offered excuses for why their air-hose method wouldn't have caught it -- while refusing to remove it now except as a new, separately paid job. Whatever the brush's origin, their original service demonstrably failed to clear the duct. I agreed to pay again anyway, just to get it resolved. I was told a manager would call me first to discuss it. No one called. I waited for the scheduled technician instead; no one showed. When I followed up, I learned the office had canceled the appointment without telling me. I rescheduled a third time, and to avoid any confusion, I emailed a photo of the brush along with the access details (about 10 feet in, no crawlspace) and asked them to confirm they could do the job at the agreed price. The email went unanswered. When I called, I was assured the office had seen it, reviewed the photo, and confirmed the job and price. Two weeks later, the technicians arrived -- 90 minutes early, before I was ready -- with no idea they were there to remove a stuck brush. After using about 15 minutes of my time, they concluded they couldn't remove it after all. I told them to leave and hired someone else. Across three separate appointments and every point of contact -- the initial cleaning a year ago, the manager callback, the scheduled visit, the confirmed job -- Capitol Duct Cleaning did not follow through on a single commitment it made. Ken did a outstanding, professional installation and I was so pleased that I, as well as a neighbor who also had a heat pump installed after seeing mine, have been singing the praises on our local NextDoor ever since. So yesterday I discovered our rental house's gas furnace wasn't working. When DH tried tinkering with it and became cantankerous when it remained broken, I immediately thought to call the cavalry - Infinity Heating. Ken answered promptly and although he was tied up with another emergency, was able to fast track my appointment for the next day. Fortunately, DH hadn't effed things up too badly by the time Ken arrived. He quickly diagnosed the problem, replaced the thermostat, replaced the fuse, scolded us good-naturedly about the disgusting clogged air filter and THEN came over to OUR house to provide an impromptu diagnosis as to why the gas fireplace is malfunctioning. Well, he was here for about an hour and a half and I don't even want to tell you what he charged; it's way too little and he still needs to grow his business and support a family. Andres was very responsive to my questions and were open to handling the permit, which is often a challenge with other contractors. Adrian showed up promptly for install, arriving on time and got right to work. He was very thorough and the install looked great when he got done. You can tell he takes pride in his work. The issue I had with Greentop is the warranty registration, which was incorrectly registered with my name and contact info as the dealer. I traded a couple e-mails with Vera and was then ghosted. I ended up calling the manuf myself to have them at least correct the name of the dealer on my warranty registration to Greentop. They advised they couldn't change the contact info. I'm hoping I don't have any warranty issues down the line due to their error.
