I came P.S. Taco while visiting family. It is conveniently located and the inside is cute and vibrant. After looking at the menu I decided upon the burrito bowl with the Korean short rib. It did not disappoint. It was flavorful and saucy. My only ask would be for a slightly bigger portion. I do t typically finish my food but I easily finished this and would have liked a little more. They are priced well and definitely worth it. Very glad I stopped in. read more

This restaurant is conveniently located near Flowers Hospital. The location is great because The hospital cafeteria is only open for Lunch. After a long day at the hospital I needed food! I was pleasantly surprised to find that they also had a full bar! The margarita hit the spot and was only $5 on Taco Tuesday! They have vegetarian tacos. They also have loaded fries and nachos that can be prepared without the meat. I got the loaded fries. The portion was large and the taste was delicious! The bartender was great! When P.S. Taco was announced in Dothan, I knew it had to be a must try. Dothan had lots of Mexican joints that are quite good but not a craft taco sort of place. P.S. Taco fills that need. A lot of reviews have commented on the price but these are not your average tacos with meat, cheese, beans, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. These are more creative. I chose the plate which is a good buy so you can sample 2 or 3 tacos and a side. My tacos were the brisket, Backwoods Hawaiian, and Black Jack. I enjoyed all of them but the Hawaiian was my favorite. It comes with pork belly, pineapple BBQ sauce, slaw, Mango salsa, red onions, and jalepenos. The Black Jack was weird with the blue cheese on the first bite but then it fit nicely together. The beef was marinated in a Korean sauce but was a little tougher that I would have liked. The brisket is a BBQ style Taco and it was enjoyable. Brisket was not as tender as I liked but good. I chose Mexican corn and I was thinking it would not be on the cob but surprise. Still this was very good corn with spices and I think a Cilantro Lime aioli on it. If you are expecting free salsa, this is not the place. But my brother ordered salsa and it came with a tray full of chips and a vinegary type of salsa. Sweet tea was refreshingly sweet and fresh! Amazing little joint. Great drinks for the bar area, but the tacos are just swell. Something I appreciate these guys do that other taco places don't is they do 2 corn tortillas so that it doesn't fall apart or get soggy. Always my biggest problem when getting tacos. They also wrap it neatly in tinfoil so that not only do your hands not get dirty but also don't touch each other or get soggy. Thank you guys for doing that. My 2 favorite tacos are the fish taco, and the blackjack taco. The fish taco COULD sound nasty but it ain't. It's not fishy at all, just tastes amazing. Also, I got my orders to go and I wanted to wait for my food out in my car with my partner, so I asked if they would bring the food out to my car when it was ready and they always did. My first experience with this place was not very impressive. We went on a Monday at 11 expecting great things. We took a seat at the bar, because that is where we prefer to sit. Usually you get great interaction and great service at the bar, plus we don't like to hold up a table for just two people. There were two tables of others and no one else at the bar. It was a full 10 minutes until the bar tender came over, she gave us menus and walked away. She made some drinks for the people siting outside, she then came back to take our drink orders, we both got tea. She came back several minutes later with the tea and walked away. I called her back to order some chips and salsa. We waited several more minutes for her to come back to take our regular order. The place did start filling up, there were about 7 people working, but they seemed to all stay in a group, which I understand they weee probably in training since the place has y been open long. We finally got our chips and salsa- which for them to be fried in house, were cold. The bartender was overwhelmed, she was seating people, severing good answering the phone and taking to go orders at the bar. Meanwhile we have been here about an hour, without our food yet. When our food did arrive, I was underwhelmed. I got the beef brisket taco and the shrimp taco with the street corn. My partner got the Crunchwrap. Mine looked good, well plated, but the brisket taco, did not have shredded meat as I expected, but rather mini chick let size pieces and very few of those, it was mostly coleslaw. The shrimp taco was better. The Mexican corn was ok. The Crunchwrap did not even look appetizing, my friend said it would have been better at Taco Bell. I do love the bar seating and the outside dining area, the inside is very well decorated. We tried PS Tacos for the first time and I will be back. The ingredients were very fresh and the salsa and Mexican corn were awesome. Wednesday night 6/28 my son and I visited for the first time , soon as we walked in we saw dirty tables . The restaurant was not busy. My son ordered the 3 tacos pork belly , shrimp and chicken buffalo with 1/2 order of the taco fries. I got 2 tacos the chicken buffalo and we also got the chips and salsa. The tortillas were cold had not been heated up. It was ok . Our bill was $48.00 and some change and they charge a fee if you use your debit card. Not my favorite place for sure for tacos . I'm ashamed to say I live a couple miles from this place and haven't tried it yet! The food was excellent ! Great portion sizes and lots of lots of flavors. I came in mid afternoon so it wasn't too busy and the waitress was very helpful since it was my first time. I got 3 tacos, the shrimp , seasoned ground beef and a pork belly taco ( isn't on the menu and secret menu item, check out their instagram for some of those). The flavors were very much on point and very tasty, very fresh ingredients. Most places who have shrimp on the menu cook it from frozen but this tasted fresh.The pork belly was my favorite. I also got the Mexican corn which was very very tasty. It has a cilantro lime aïoli drizzled on it. It has a really hip kind of look on the inside. It is a little small so it may fill up fast during the lunch or dinner rush. They do have outside seating. All and all this may become one of my favorite places to eat close by. I honestly wouldn't pay attention to any of the negative comments. This is a new business so with all new businesses there is a learning aspect. We visited the Dothan store before they were on Yelp. We found a good time between waves of customers. This franchise has been packed since the opening. The store is small. It is easy to see them being very crowded all of the time. Turning tables might be an issue when it takes 30 minutes to get five tacos. The server asked if everything was okay, but simply apologized and walked away when we told him the chicken tacos were very dry. The chicken taco meat was chopped very finely. The meat was dry and the flavor was covered with some heat. The pork belly taco was very tasty. There was a nice portion of meat on this taco. The fish taco was tasty, if not a bit overpowered by so much sauce. The brisket taco had a couple bites of meat. The rest was tortilla and filling in each bite. All of the tacos were unnecessarily spicy when I don't recall the menu mentioning anything about the heat. The menu shows a selection of tortilla choices, but the server did not ask, and we neglected to specify. This resulted in the default flour tortillas. There was a very small bowl of beans with the three taco combo. Unnecessary heat in the beans as well. The chips and dip portion was ridiculous at a seven dollar price point. The Mexicali Cowboy was fantastic. The price was reasonable at ten dollars. This was the best part of the dining experience. There is a small sign at the door, visible upon exit, addressing the service charge for credit or debit payments. We didn't notice if there was a sign visible upon entry. We decided we would pay cash and when the check arrived, we were disappointed to see the service charge already added to the receipt. Rather than simply doing the math and taking the charge out of the tip, we asked for a corrected receipt. We had to ask twice as the second receipt we received still listed the service charge. We paid $54 with the tip and were not satiated. I travel for a living and have visited several taco places with similar models nationwide. I was a disappointed with this visit and will not likely return. There are several full service, full menu Mexican restaurants locally. They would be a much better value and experience. Yeah, first impression was signs printed on paper says they charge 7% fee for takeout orders and another stating a 3.5% fee for using a card. I never bothered even trying the food as a 10.5% fee for the privilege of taking out food from here I found ridiculous. I might have enjoyed the place had they not had these ridiculous policies. So now I'll never dine in here either and leave good tips. Another attempt at a money grab by a business. I liken it the self checkout asking for a tip.
