I had the fish tacos and they were incredible. As was my shrimp cocktail starter. The fried ice cream dessert was scrumptious and completed the meal perfectly. On my most recent visit, I noticed something that left me feeling singled out. When I arrived, the complimentary mint container was its normal size. After paying and eating, I walked out of the restaurant and noticed the mint container had been replaced with a much smaller one. There are no signs or posted policies stating that customers are limited in how many complimentary mints they can take. I went back inside, and by the time I did, the mint container had been switched back to its normal size. I grabbed a handful of mints and said, "Thank you." As I was leaving, one of the young women behind the counter immediately turned to the other employee and said, "It's him," and the other employee audibly gasped. Whether intentional or not, it made me feel embarrassed and as though I had been specifically targeted over something that had never been communicated as an issue. If there is a limit on the complimentary mints, that's completely the restaurant's right. I just believe it should be communicated with a simple sign or a polite conversation instead of making a regular customer feel singled out. After discussing the experience with my family, who also eat here every couple of weeks, we've decided we won't be returning. That's disappointing because we genuinely liked the food and wanted to continue supporting this business.
