The staff were very quick, helpful, and accommodating, getting me a chair to sit while I wrap things, loading large items into my vehicle, etc. A++ for service. When I learned that our landlord was ending our lease 2 months later, we scheduled a walk-through, KF's owner visited our store, and said probably 90% of our stuff or more would be fine for their auction. We had a closeout sale, and at the end of our lease they sent a 4-man crew and a box truck to load most of our store for auction. Took them about 2.5-3 hours. Our first batch of goods just went up for auction this week, and while we were certainly disappointed in how much a few of our lots brought, we were surprised at how well others did. Overall, we were VERY satisfied. More items were put up for the following week, and unfortunately the presentation for some lots seemed rushed (some valuable items were barely visible among a box of others, etc.) I emailed them and expressed my concerns and they promptly acted to remedy the situation, taking more photographs and updating descriptions. Great service from them as both a buyer and seller so far. If I rated them separately, I'd have given them five stars as a buyer, and 4 as a seller. When I reopen my vintage shop in a new location, I will definitely look to them again for goods -- they have a lot of great stuff every week.

I have a set of green-stemmed wine glasses that my husband brought back from Germany. They fit nicely in the dishwasher, but over the years several broke. While not looking to replenish -- I have other glasses -- when I saw these at $35 plus 35% off, I thought 'why not?' We live in a hundred year old building; I'd been eyeing old advertising thermometers for my tiny porch. Apparently, they've become a 'thing' but not willing to spend hundreds of dollars as many are priced, I wasn't optimistic. T spotted one from Yeager Supply, still in business in Reading, PA. While not campy, and not as old as I'd like -- this dates to the late 1960's -- at $18 (plus the store's 10% discount) it was a no-brainer. Jewelry, pottery, furniture, you name it. I do quite a bit of auction buying for a side business I run selling collectibles. Earlier today, I…read morewent to pick up an item from an estate auction I had won online that, and after some difficulty finding the home where the sale was located, I called the contact number given in the sale information, and I had the distinct displeasure of speaking to Bill Howze, the owner of Renaissance Auctions. This was the rudest treatment I have EVER received in a decade and a half of dealing with auctioneers. From the second he picked up the phone, Mr. Howze adopted an incredibly condescending and haughty attitude, acting like I was an idiot for not finding the house. Apparently, the Google Maps and Waze information for the location of the house, as well as the map provided by his own appointment signup service was inaccurate, leading to an address with as similar number in a different part of the development, about a block and a half away from where the pickup location was located. Mr. Howze admitted to KNOWING this fact and failed to mention it in either the original listing or ANY of the communications sent out after the auctions. What's more, he went on and lied to my face that he had previously provided both detailed directions and a notice that the GPS would be inaccurate. I have reviewed both the original listing and ALL communications received afterward, and the extent of the directions given were merely the street address and instructions to pull around into the common parking area in the back, with absolutely zero instructions of how to find the home upon entering the maze-like suburban development where the home was located. Incidentally, the incorrect location on GPS ALSO has such a common area with similar numbering, an easy and obvious source of confusion. I continued to drive around looking for the correct house, and when I indicated to Mr. Howze the names of the streets on the intersection, ONE block away from where the actual sale was, he told me he had "no idea where that was." Frustrated, I eventually hung up on him and managed to finally find the correct location myself. Upon arrival, I told him I did not appreciate his attitude, and he intimated that he was not going to release the item to me. I informed him we had a contract, and that I would be happy to pay for the item and never deal with him again, upon which he repeatedly called me a "jerk" while processing my payment. So much for customer service. Notably, I would like to point out that the other gentleman who was working with Mr. Howze was QUITE polite and professional, making sure the lot I was picking up was complete and wishing me a good day when I left. So it's not like he does not like he lacks a handy example of basic professionalism. The laugh's on him, though, as I am currently preparing an auction of items from the substantial estate of a relative who recently passed away, and his had been one of the houses I had been considering due to his proximity and potential convenience. He can now kiss any chance of the mid-five figures of commissions he would have been likely to have received. I've dealt with most of the auction houses in both Berks and Lancaster County, and in the future would prefer to deal with ANY of them rather than Renaissance.

It also includes claims that simply aren't true--at no point did we tell anyone to go to our uncle's shop or say he'd do a better job. That never happened. We 100% do NOT have an uncle or bloodline family that has a shop. Weird how he chose to go with that fabricated claim. The guy was Carly's coworkers brother.. I did get a laugh out of the part where he says he's reporting my reviews. Personally, I'd rather they stay up. Let people read both sides and decide for themselves what happened. If you're confident in your version of events, there shouldn't be any issue with people seeing both perspectives. Below is the series of events paraphrase.. My girlfriend and I were in the store while another couple was discussing selling a large reggae record collection. The owner was already talking about other stores and possible buyers for a collection of that size. Since the conversation was already centered around outside options, my girlfriend casually mentioned another local shop that might also be interested. The response was immediate and hostile. Instead of simply saying he preferred competitors not be mentioned in his store, he repeatedly raised his voice, saying it was "unethical" and asking, "How dare you come into my store and try to steal people?" His voice got louder each time. The interaction became so uncomfortable that another customer followed us outside afterward to make sure we were okay. Even the couple involved commented on how strange and over-the-top the reaction was. What makes this especially confusing is that the conversation was already about alternative stores and potential buyers. We're customers, not business owners. Most people wouldn't expect that mentioning another local shop in that context would lead to being publicly yelled at. Needless to say, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend a business that treats customers this way. If you take this review with a grain of salt, that's completely fair--but understand that, in our experience, simply mentioning another local business during a conversation that was already about other shops was enough to earn a public scolding. The photo below includes the owner's response. It conveniently leaves out the fact that we had already been talking with the couple and that multiple outside options had already been discussed before Carly made her suggestion. He's entitled to his version of events, but it doesn't reflect what happened that day. Regardless of the disagreement, I don't believe it's appropriate for a business owner to speak to customers--especially by repeatedly yelling at a young woman--in the way he did.
