When the time finally comes, I drive 45 minutes from home to Flemington MVC. I walk in and have all my documents, INCLUDING my "Motot Vehicle Commision issued driver's license renewal form." I finally reach the receptionist, and she denies me because "the system won't accept my renewal form." Why put something on a .gov website if the information isn't valid??? I speak to one of the managers and she says come back when your new license comes in the mail, we will accept you without an issue. She also gives me a specific date and time to come back. About two weeks pass, and I come back here at 8 AM after my new license arrives, and I get denied AGAIN! This time because "my license and passport are both too up-to-date, and real IDs are for people whose licenses are closer to expiring." This is coming from the supervisor by the way. Now after waiting 4 months and getting all my correct documents in order, I have to reschedule and wait ANOTHER 3-4 months. The level of unprofessionalism and disorganization is beyond insane to me. 1. Why post FALSE information on your website? 2. Why tell me to come back if you're just going to deny me and waste my time because my documents are "up-to-date?" An absolute waste of time, money, and energy. -100000/5 stars if I could

If you're only getting your picture for a drivers license (that you have renewed on-line), KOP is…read morepretty efficient. Once you get inside the building (the line often snakes outside into the parking area) ask the guard that is just inside the entrance door if there is a separate line for "pictures only" and they may let you bypass the line. You'll need a camera card (mailed to you after you renew your license) to get a number. With the number, you can proceed directly to the "A" station to get your picture taken. If you need other services or didn't renew on-line, the wait can be 2-4 hours. (KOP DMV, if you are reading this, it would be really helpful if you set up a separate 'pictures only' line right at the main entrance.)

Clearly I knew it would be a little longer than that with the room filled to occupancy. I was called in about 15 minutes. We took one photo, I was satisfied. However, I later saw another candidate pass his test with the same examiner despite performing the parallel parking maneuver in what appeared to be around 9 movements, when I understood the standard allows only 3. I had a 12pm appointment and arrived at 11:30 just in case there was a wait .... I'm writing this review at almost 1:30 (2 hours later) and I am STILL NOT FINISHED! I have no idea what takes them sooooooo long but it's honestly the worst and extremely disrespectful of people's time, specifically when an appointment was made. What's the purpose of an appointment if it isn't honored? The only saving grace which bumped this to 2 stars was that the staff is decently "friendly" and that they have a lot of parking spaces. When I arrived at the Delanco MVC with an appt to do a relatively easy transaction of getting a…read morereal ID, I could never have dreamed how frustrating it would be with Kristen... the person who verifies your documents. The passport program that checks the passports was down. Kristen informed me that I needed a birth certificate. When i mentioned that I was born overseas, she told me that I needed my naturalization document and provided me with a sheet that allowed me to return without an appt. As I walked away, a customer told me that I'd need my marriage certificate too. While this may seem like common sense, it was not on my radar, nor did Kristen bother to tell me so. Her mantra was... this info is all online. Yes, I agree, but also online are columns of what is needed but not mandatory to be brought together. What seems to be a better process is to inform the customer that if they are born overseas and are naturalized and married, the above-mentioned docs are required. Instead her mantra was this info is online. Hearing this repeatedly felt condescending. In my opinion, Kristen needs an adjustment on how to speak to customers. Be respectful. There are intelligent people who were born outside the USA. After a lengthy drive home and back, I returned with the docs. I was told that I could not be processed on the same day. She pointed out that the bottom right corner of the "return without an appt" document she provided earlier clearly stated that it was not for the same day. It would've been nice if she had pointed that out bc I am guilty of not reading the entire doc from the top to the bottom right corner. At that point, I asked for a supv. That was enough. This felt abusive. Theresa, the supv, was incredible! She asked what my needs were, and after a brief discussion, i was sent to Leslie, who completed the task. Theresa was like Saint Theresa... there for the people. She listened and communicated clearly how the process works. After further discussion, she recognized that my situation was a "perfect storm" and was not born from negligence on my part. I was incredibly impressed with her demeanor and professionalism. She shared that she had worked there for decades and yet was calm and very effective. Wow! She is a diamond in the rough and deserves big kudos. Thank you, Theresa... you excelled beyond 10. I also want to thank Leslie, who processed my renewal with the same level of professionalism. I was so impressed with her, and she had me out of the MVC in no time. While she may feel that she was just doing her job, I had not experienced that when I dealt with the first stop earlier. Thank you to Theresa, and thank you to Leslie. What a terrific team!!! 100
