It's nice to have a place just to stop and rest in the middle of this route. You can just step out…read moreof the car and look at the view. They have bathrooms here which are medium sized. They also have a vending machine area and picnic tables and a walkway if you need to just walk around. All nice amenities just to walk around. The bathrooms are a bit old, but cleaner than you would think. It is mainly one way so its only for going West. If you need to go back Eastward, then you need to drive another 2.8 miles to the exit to go back. Nice to have, but could be better.

I've always wanted to stop at Sideling Hill. We were traveling east, and the stop is not as…read morefabulous as traveling west. The amenities are small with 2/5 toilets out of order. The rest center needed attention. There is a paved walkway over the highway to the westbound Welcome Center, but it is a steep uphill climb. I took the walk, and was treated to breath taking views of the road cut rock formation. A walkway leading up into the road cut was closed. There are also views of the valley below. The walk to the center and back takes about 30 minutes. I recommend the walk if you have the time and are fit. Sideling Hill is part of the Appalachian Mountains and is a syncline mountain. The layers of Carboniferous rock are interesting. Of course, I wanted to climb around and get a closer look at the rocks, but that was forbidden. On the east side plaza there is also a marker describing the Civil War trail that tracks through the region. The area has a lot of history starting with the geological formation through the Civil War. There is limited parking eastbound and a couple picnic tables in the shade. The center is an easy on and off the highway.i would recommend stopping on the westbound side if you have an option. I'd give the east bound amenities a 2, but the views a 4.

Travel Road Welcome…read moreCenter and rest stop located off Hwy 70 West. The Good: *Clean restrooms *Vending machines *Picnic tables *Big grassy fields for the fur babies and human kids to stretch their legs. *Brochures and tons of info about visiting the Commonwealth of PA (it's not technically a state fyi #todayilearned) The Meh: *Restrooms aren't very big. The men's room consisted of two urinals and two stalls; you know it's bad when there's a line to drop a deuce in the men's room. The Ugly: *Allegedly there's employees to greet you inside the "Welcome" Center, but they were too busy chit-chatting in the back to be bothered. TLDR: Great place to stop, stretch, and ease one's burdens.

I measure this as being the halfway point for me and usually take that as an opportunity to take a break. But, alas, I wasn't able to make the stop...until recently. They finished their update to what is basically a rest stop and I have to say they did it justice. I hope that means they will be doing the same thing to the one on the outbound side of I-70. It is a no frills stop, but a good place to get out and stretch you legs. They offer vending machines, restrooms, informational materials (including state maps), pet area and outdoor seating if you wanted to eat your food you may have brought with you. Easy off and on to the Interstate. A good place to empty your head before you continue on with your travel.

Good location but definitely on the smaller side. It's packed full of food, coffee, snacks, and…read moredrinks. The young woman who checked us out was super sweet and friendly, the coffee was fresh, and the made to order food came fast and hot. We got egg, sausage, and cheese on bagels and the whole thing tasted microwaved instead of toasted, which was disappointing since their MTO breakfast is usually great. The hash browns were really good and hot!

What the Sheetz? No, really, what the Sheetz? I'm a bit surprised at this location. I know that…read moremostly this is a Sheetz here to serve the community that it is in, but when driving the highway and you see a sign that Sheetz is off the exit you know of a few things for sure. You will have facilities to use, parking aplenty, and a quick browse over the many items. This Sheetz, fell flat. I had been doing a lot of commuting back and forth from PA to DC. Along the way I have stopped at many highway stops to quickly continue in my trek. Honestly, I have been through this corridor many times and I had no idea there was a Sheetz located here. But I was more focused on the road and not necessarily the amenities offered off each exit. Getting here was not hard at all, but the lot was super confusing. See the lot is on what some would call an important corner in this town. It appears that this Sheetz has been here for some time and just updated the lot to make it look new along the way. The parking is atrocious, since this is not your usual lot they threw in parking where it would fit. The back side of the building is totally confusing as a majority of the parking spots are up against the building, and since the building is not totally square-ish, the parking is just all over the place. Add some parallel spot as well and you have just about total chaos. Talking about chaos, the facilities. There is only one facility to use. Bright side, you can say that they have gender neutral restrooms. Not so bright side, when you really have to go, you have to wait. I mean really wait. Don't worry, you may get confused as well, because does that line go to the restroom or is that the line for the register? As far as the items to opt from on the shelves. Think Sheetz and then divide by four. Space wise this is not a great store as they have all you would expect from a Sheetz, but not every item in each of those areas. It is a bit disorienting trying to find an item, if they even have that item. If you can, wait while on the highway to go a bit further to hit a Sheetz. Until this one is rebuilt or relocated let it be for the community.
