One of…read morethe nice things about seeing high school musicals is that you save a lot of money and usually get a good show. The performance was held at 10th St Elementary which is where they stage their musical theater. Street parking is available. I was fortunate to get our tickets ahead of time so we would have good seats. I didn't get to see much of the building itself except there is an outdoor playground and I was able to see the school office from a distance. The auditorium is a very nice size and the sound and tech crew sit high above the rear for the effects. I liked the fact that they used the same head mikes which made it a lot easier to catch the lyrics and parts I normally miss when seeing the show in a large theater like the Benedum. These high school students put on an amazing job and although due to space and cost could not use all the props associated with the production (in this case the funny curtain), still, they were able to make up for it in comedy and dance. I loved how they showed picture biographies of the cast in the lobby and and Tee Shirts hanging in the foyer of past productions. Spamalot is a ripoff of Monty Python and the Holy Grail movie set to music where it literally takes jabs at many Broadway musicals of the past. It's definitely a good comedy worth seeing. I want to thank everyone at Riverdale for all the hard work put into this production because a show of this quality is not as easy to replicate on stage. The 10th Street Elementary school sits on Pennsylvania Ave about a mile from Oakmont's main shopping district.
