From check in to the front desk employees to the concierge to the breakfast employees to house keeping. Everyone that works at this hotel acknowledges you asks how your day is going and makes sure you have everything you need. I've traveled all over and this by far has to be one of the best teams I've ever experienced. Beyond recommend this hotel.

(We walked after arriving at Central Station.) Room was cozy, super quiet and lovely. The only thing I'd change about the room (Room 8) is how external light from the night courtyard lights comes in over the top of the drapes. (The room was never completely dark at night.). Other than that, the room was perfect and very well serviced throughout our stay. Food and drink were awesome. Breakfast options were tasty and plentiful. We had dined at Vinkeles on a previous trip and it was amazing. We were sad it was closed this time. All staff were lovely especially Renee at the Front Desk. Then we each had the sampler-ish plates (I forget what it was called). Hers was the vegetarian version and mine was with sausage. There were 3 kinds of essentially mashed potatoes with veggies mixed in: 1 with spinach I think, 1 with carrots, and 1 with sauerkraut. Mine came with a delightfully rich gravy and my moms came with some kind of lighter yellow sauce (I think mustard based). We tried these same dishes at other Dutch restaurants during our stay, but nothing beat The Pantry. The service in this quaint and cozy spot was also excellent!

This time I was there with my daughter and her best friend (both 16) on their Spring Break trip, so my priorities looked a little less like nightlife and a little more like making sure everyone was fed, safe, and happy. My daughter's friend has a severe allergy to fish, nuts, and kiwi, so when we travel with her, we have to be really intentional about where we eat. De Dijk was the first place we stopped for food, and they were fantastic. The food was delicious, the staff was incredibly kind and friendly, and they were very attentive and accommodating when it came to her allergies, which I really appreciated. We were only in Volendam for two days, and we ended up eating here twice . . . partly because it was so good, and partly because they're one of the only places serving food on the Dijk after 9:00pm. This is a must-stop for me anytime I'm in Volendam, and I'll definitely be back soon.
