I have been remiss- in not writing my reviews of Pacific Auto earlier. When I moved to Monterey Peninsula nearly four years ago I was able to find an independent service shop ( C&C) for my Porsche --they recommended Matt at PAD with the observation that his appointment waiting time was long-- and for good reason: he's a magician and worth the wait. Over the years and 3 services on 3 different cars I can say unequivocally, he's one of the best on the Peninsula if not The Best. Fairly priced, fanatic attention to detail Matt is going to make sure car look showroom new. I've had him do ceramic coating on my 911, Cayenne etc to keep my beauties always looking great. I've even had him to "emergency" looks at little parking lot scratches --and amazing buffing to take out the offending lines in my paint. I was very hesitant on writing this review but I thought it was important to share my experience. When I called to set up a date for interior detailing, Matt was very professional and polite. I explained my needs and expectations and also emphasized that my main concern was to have the stains in my car removed. I stressed that there wasn't a need for a car wash (even though it definitely could've used one) because I really wanted the focus to be on really getting the inside of my car clean. Without being able to see the extent of what needed to be done, the cost was estimated at $200. That was completely fine. I took my car in and came back 5 hours later to see a job seemingly well done. I was charged $165 and gave a 20% tip because at a quick glance, I was happy and Matt really maintained his professionalism. When I got home, I made a more thorough check and discovered that the backseat console wasn't even touched. I pulled it down to see it in the same exact horrible condition it was originally in. Of course, I called Matt back and he agreed for me to return in order to remedy the situation. The next morning, he was very apologetic and insisted on giving me a free stain remover and some rags. It was an embarrassing situation and everything made me feel very awkward and slightly uncomfortable. I do wish I would've asked about pricing and the services included beforehand (such a basic thing) because I do not feel like the service I received was fair for that amount of money I paid. It could've been a simple mistake but I could also see that my car was quickly spot cleaned which gave me the impression that it wasn't an honest service and for me, that was truly disappointing. Had a fantastic experience taking my Jeep Grand Cherokee to Matt and his team. I had a moldy smell that had been progressively getting worse from a combination of children with their snacks and the cloudiness of the winter not allowing UV light to kill the smell. I brought it to Matt and he worked with me to alleviate the smell and did an interior detail. He was more than fair on price and even gave it a exterior wash before he was done. Matt took care of me twice, actually. I needed the headlights on my Aston Martin Vantage refinished. He did a great job but before I could get them clear bra'd I drove through a sand storm. AMAZING TRANSFORMATION! Matt was referred to me by a local auto painting company. I recently bought a 28 year old Mercedes with the original black paint. I knew the car did not need to be repainted but it needed someone with knowledge and skill to coax back out the original luster and depth of the original paint. I was a bit nervous putting the car into the hands of someone that I had no experience with. The car already had swirl marks in it and in the wrong hands, the paint finish could have been ruined. In addition, there was years of caked-on brake dust caked inside the rims. Matt took a Dremel to the inside of each rim, carefully removing all of the crud. Wow. I could not believe it when I saw my completed car...truly amazing. I could see that Matt takes pride in his work. He is careful and cautious with just the right combination of technique, products and knowledge to bring out the very best in ay auto. Matt has passion for his craft and he leaves a bit of that "sparkle" on each car he works on. He even taught me how to care for my car and assembled a "wash and care kit" so that I did not have future damage. Matt Balesteri did an AMAZING job on my BMW. Dings fixed, scratches gone- he even fixed a mark on my leather seat caused by red nail polish. You can't tell there was ever a mark there! The engine compartment is so clean you could eat dinner off of it. I've used a number of local detailing services and they're good, but Pacific Auto Detail is in a league of its own. I just recently had my Tanzanite Blue M4 Comp ceramic coated because it is a very finicky color. It's like black with even more visibility with imperfections. Gorgeous color, but what a PAIN! The dealership did a paint correction and within a few weeks or so and a couple of washes, bam, back to spider webs and swirls. Matt and his crew at Pacific Auto Detail made the car look show room ready in no time. It took about a day and a half and boom, the car was ready for the show room. He gave me some really high quality products to care for the car and now, even as a novice I can make the car look pristine in a few minutes. I highly recommend the guys at Pac Auto Detail, they are trustworthy, they do a great job and they care for your car is if it were your own. Matt and his crew are always giving you advice to care for the work they do as well, because they care about you and your car.
