Complete Scam of a business. Uses two different systems to charge. Will show you one price on a analog resister then swipe your card on a different machine for a much higher price. Example: register display showed 53.90, the man on the register verbally repeated that number while punching it in the card machine. Looked at my bank account and it was charged for 83.59. Regular beach stuff. My issue is that we charged it for $23.57 and when we got our CC statement, they billed us $24.39. Ripping us off $.82. It isn't the fact that it is $.82 and I should let it go. I reported it to my CC company. If they are taking just that little bit from every person who charges, they are making a killing. It wasn't there extra money to take! What a bunch of scam artists. So I asked him why my receipt total is $85.31 but my bank account says $88.30? He got super rude with me and raised his voice and said there's a $2.99 fee to use a credit card. Best bargains anywhere on the beach when it comes to beach and summer wear and items. They have everything you need from sunscreen to fabulous straw hats for shade, affordable and durable beach chairs, OBX logo wear, luxurious beach towels and wonderful fun jewelry. Not to mention...shhhh! They offer the best bargain prices on Billabong, DaKine and RipCurl. They beat surf shop prices hands down! I've read some of these other reviews and I'm going to disagree. If you act shady when you're shopping then the owner is going to keep an eye on you. Stealing is rampant on the beach during the high season and it costs the shop owners dearly in lost revenue. I don't blame her for doing exactly what every other shop owner on the beach will do. I walked into this store knowing exactly which bathing suit I was going to buy. The only size they had on the floor was an xl but they had the same one on a mannequin up high. I politely ask if there was anyway they could get it down because I am usually the size they put on mannequins. The person I asked did not understand what I was asking so she got the owner. She came up and in the rudest tone ever ask " do y'all need help this girl doesn't understand you" I asked if there was anyway she could take it down for me. Again in a rude tone said "no I won't take anything off the wall" The way she acted was so unprofessional especially towards people who are local and go there all the time. Hubby and I were enjoying an anniversary trip at the Outer Banks when we decided to purchase some gifts for a couple of our neighbors and other family members. When we walked in, there were other customers. I shopped around until I found several items I wanted. I was in line behind a family of four. They caught my attention because the children were loud and rowdy. The man behind the counter was very cordial to them. They paid for their merchandise and left. I stepped up the counter. The employee walked away to the far end of the sales counter, while I stood there waiting for him to return. After a couple of minutes, I jokingly said, "Are the items free?" His response was "I didn't know you were standing there." I replied "Oh, you didn't see me. I am pretty short." His reply, "What do you want?" Now, I had already laid the items on the counter so he had to know I was purchasing them. But it was the way he spoke to me. It was a very condescending and disrespectful tone. I then summoned my husband, who was still shopping and told him I didn't want the items. I left the items on the counter, told the employee how I felt with a SMILE and proceeded to leave. I am a senior citizen and should NEVER, EVER, be treated with disdain---especially if I did nothing to provoke the situation, which I didn't. read more

Never step foot into this place unless you are prepared to be attacked by a grumpy, lonely, old woman. The owners of this place are complete lunatics and raise their prices above and beyond reality just to put up a sign that says "50% off". Don't bother asking to try anything on either or you will most likely be kicked out if you do not place the item back on the correct hook. These owners are lazy heffers and complain about having to do their own jobs! You will also be accused of stealing when you make it up to the register to get your reciept and card thrown back in your face. I should have walked out when we entered due to the over abundance of rebel flags, attire, magnets...the list goes on. While they do have name brand clothing (the whole reason we stopped), do not attempt to try anything on...they are not going to let you. Upon checkout there was an additional fee of $5+ dollars for using a credit card. I asked what the fee was for and she pointed to a sign mixed in with all the clutter of the shop that an extra fee is added for using a credit card. One star is not even low enough to rate how terrible this place was. We stopped in the day we got to North Carolina after driving hours and the woman working had the worst attitude. I tried on some bathing suits and winded up buying one along with over 200 dollars worth of stuff. We went back two days later to buy another bathing suit but when we walked in the same woman had stopped us to scream about how I had not hung all the suits back up and that she had no respect for us so we awkwardly walked to swim suits where I threw one over top to make sure it'd fit when she just yelled at us that we weren't allowed to try anything on and then told us to leave. My friends and I went in to this store after being recommended by a friend that they had great suits for low prices. Everything was going great, until we were approached by a worker who asked us in a VERY pointed tone if we were buying the suits or trying them on, since they were her commission. We said that we were looking and trying stuff on maybe, and possibly buying the suits. I guess this answer wasnt correct, as she than just stared at us like we were animals in a cage. We were also looked down upon because I said we may not buy. Hand on her hip and vaping in our faces as we nervously browsed the racks for 2 nanoseconds, it was the most awkward experience ever. We were literally being HOUNDED for giving a simple answer. Left after being treated like trash. The three of us have been locals since birth and try and respect all the stores down here, but the treatment was trash and there was no need for a women to be in our faces vaping as we looked at bathing suits.
