Bottom Line: A large store with some nicer clothing and lots of typical beach souvenirs. Most of this store is beach souvenirs (screen printer tshirts, magnets of lighthouses, OBX coffee cups, and ornaments made in China) but they do have some nicer clothing brands like Lily Pulitzer and some local brands like fish Hippie. Also, they have a lot of Yeti products and Tervis cups. Another good find here is the Sun Bum sunscreen line which is the best sunscreen in the world according to my fair-skinned sister. Based on my experience with going to the other local gift/souvenir shops, I wouldn't have purchased anything here had I known what you could get at other places. I'm not sure why this place is rated so much better than the others in the area. Although everything was very neat and organized, the sizing was extremely limited. Every time I saw something I liked, they only had that item in one size. They sell a lot of gifts as far as clothing with cute phrasing or pictures, probably just as much as items that say Outer Banks/NC. I wanted to get something small like a key chain or magnet for my niece but they literally don't sell anything like that. I spent $38 for two adult shirts and a kids shirt. The other store I went in had three shirts for TEN dollars. Obviously I can't speak for the quality but I could've gotten a bunch of other stuff for less. read more

i was here today, they had a lot of nice sweaters. and foot wear for the beach. they got a lot of new merchendice, because employees were unloading boxes. this place sells some really nice things, so i would love to see what was in those boxes. i used to buy my pirate things here. i have quite a collection. unfortunately i didnt see any pirate things. but i did see some very nice things. they had some nice glasses and outer banks cups. the staff was vary nice and helpful. stores like this gives the outer banks a good name. read more

A classy shop, with a wide variety of gifts, OBX clothing, and other niche clothing. We spent a bit of time enjoying the wide selection and quality choices. Cashier was super friendly and helpful, engaging and witty. The rest of the staff was neither friendly or unfriendly based as each of the floor staff walked past us dozen times and did not care to ask if we needed help. Can we get a greeting? Prices were average. Displays were a bit cramped. We do recommend as a nice place to shop, especially if you can do it without any assistance. Big selection if T-shirts from companies like Simply Southern and Southern Fried Cotton as well as jewelry from 40 Ocean and Pura Vida. I ended up buying two shirts and a Bogg bag insert. First time coming in here. Stumbled upon it on the internet when I searched "where to buy simply southern shirts in obx" and it had pretty good reviews so I gave it a shot. First thing you see when you walk in is their simply southern collection & I was immediately in heaven. All of the designs were so cute it was hard to pick just one to buy (self control ftw) They also give a military discount of 10% so that was a good bonus! Parrot Bay is two steps above any store on Croatan Highway that sells OBX clothing. Shirts are higher quality than Sunsations, Pacific, Super Wings, etc. and (mostly) at a better price. My only criticism is PB doesn't sell glassware. I was searching for a shot glass and a mug but didn't have any luck here. read more

This is one of the better shops in the OBX (and their 'sister' store The Farmer's Daughter). Even though a lot of the clothes appear to be the run of the mill OBX T's they do have other shirts that are higher quality than other places. This year they had a huge variety of shirts that were super cute. Many of them were Southern themed but super cute. Simply Southern was one of the brands. They have lots of sizes available, including plus sizes. The woman at the register was super helpful. I had given my coupon to my daughter and when I checked out, she asked me if I had another one. When I told her no she took my book and got the Farmer's Daughter coupon out of it and said she could accept that one too. I thought that was above and beyond. read more

The best thing about this place is that it's open later than most stores in OBX. Other than that, you'll find the same stuff here that you'd find at other places like Wings or Sunsations. There were a bunch of clothes and home decor things here, but not much else. read more

We visited this store today while on vacation, they were offering a free sticker if you follow them on Facebook and instagram and the worker refused to let me see the sticker so I ended up not even being able to get it. She was extremely rude with how she spoke to me as well...My sister also had the same encounter and this employee wouldn't even acknowledge her and she waited a good 5-10 minutes before being helped! This is a pretty decent souvenir store. They have some cute clothing items, sandals, home decor items, etc. The space is a little cramped - it's chock full of stuff! There's some cheap, tacky stuff here too, but overall it's worth a visit! read more

They have a wide selection of a wide variety of clothing and I was able to find the t-shirt I wanted. While traveling annually to the outer banks with friends and family, we've always stopped at the usual (and most obvious) souvenir shops like Super Wings and Sunsations. Last year my husband and I decided to change it up a bit and try Parrot Bay. We hadn't heard much about it and weren't even sure of what they carried besides Yeti (which is advertised in the window). We were pleasantly surprised by this shop, and after visiting it twice again this year, it will certainly be an annual stopping place for our family. For starters, while the clothing in Wings and other shops feels cheap, Parrot Bay's clothing felt like better quality, and yet the prices weren't outrageous (like at Kitty Hawk Kites). They were just slightly higher than the cheapo souvenir stores, and the styles were cuter. They also carry some name brand stuff like Columbia and Salt Life, but not at prices that break the bank. Secondly, the employees were not foreign. I can hardly understand most of what the people who work in Wings and Sunsations are saying. I appreciated being able to ask questions and get answers instead of a confused stare. Thirdly, Wings, Sunsations, and Oceans all carry some trashy merchandise like topless mugs or vulgar shirts. Aside from a section of specialty socks, that type of stuff wasn't easily found at Parrot Bay, which, as a mother with children who can read, I really appreciate. Lastly, I used the restroom at Parrot Bay, and it was so pretty, clean, and well decorated, I felt like I was in someone's guest bathroom instead of a public restroom. The whole store/experience was wonderful. I highly recommend Parrot Bay! read more
