Trish was very accommodating during scheduling and spoke highly of the company's reputation, which gave me confidence going into the move. Unfortunately, the move itself was a frustrating experience. The three-person crew loaded the truck without properly accounting for all of my belongings. The truck was packed completely full before they realized that a significant amount of outdoor furniture and garage items had been left behind. Rather than reorganize the load, the crew had to make an additional round trip, adding roughly two unnecessary hours to the move. I had also previously discussed furniture placement at the origination location and added a small neighborhood stop to pick up a few pieces of furniture. While I expected that to add some time, the move ultimately took about 12 1/2 hours when it should have been much closer to eight. What concerned me most was the lack of supervision. Mark, who appeared to be the on-site supervisor, was rarely involved while these issues were unfolding. Better oversight could have prevented much of what went wrong. In addition to the excessive time, one of my nicer chairs was damaged during the move. The crew also failed to protect the stairs with plastic coverings, resulting in dirty carpeting at my new home. To her credit, Trish has agreed to arrange carpet cleaning, but I am still waiting for that to be completed. In hindsight, given the problems throughout the day, I probably should not have paid the full amount at the time of service. However, I did because I wanted to address my concerns professionally afterward. Others may have had a different experience, but based on mine, I cannot recommend this company and would not use them again.

The incident happened down the road where the truck was being loaded, so my son had no idea what was going on. My husband & I had headed out about 2 hrs. prior to all of this, so we were not there. Needless to say there was approximately a 2 hr delay while all of this was going on and by 8PM (after being there from 10AM), my son had a 2 hr drive to the new house, so he suggested they finish up without him being there. They kept the truck loaded overnight because they probably would have arrived by midnight!! The next morning I tried calling by 7:30 AM for 2 hrs. with no one answering the phone. Finally I got a hold of the manager around 9:30 and was told they would be arriving sometime in the afternoon and I asked that he call when they were on there way. They showed up around 3PM with no advance notice. They started unloading and I got a call from an accounts receivable person asking that we pay up before they unload. The estimate that I was given was $4800 and they ended up charging me a total of $6200 with some minor adjustments because of the incident. Basically we were held hostage as she told us she would tell them to stop unloading the truck. So we had to pay. All we asked was that they just charge us the original $4800 quoted. And on top of all that, they left a quite a lot of stuff behind in the house. This is a horrible company and I will be pursuing some sort of retribution through the state and most moving companies in the state of Oregon are controlled. DO NOT USE COASTLINE MOVERS!! I have not heard from anyone at the top for an apology.

Big Trash Panda Junk Removal - How things were left after he refused to complete the job

Back in 2024 I hired Joel's company to remove some trash. He did a good job and there were no…read moreissues. While talking with Joel at the time he informed me he was looking to expand his business to other types of projects. I had a parking area project I was looking to have completed and asked if it was something he wanted to take on. He said yes and provided me with a quote. The quote was accepted and we moved forward. In the beginning there were scheduling issues due to weather (Understandable). Once we started, he tore out a small tree we had specifically discussed needed to stay. Tore up my yard leaving piles of dirt and concrete all over the yard and leaving huge ruts from the equipment. It then became impossible to get him to show up to finish the job. For weeks he would schedule then send me a text right before he was scheduled to show up stating some sort of personal emergency. Come to find out via his social media that he was going to other jobs and posting pictures of him there doing the work. When I found out I gave him an ultimatum to finish the project within a week (More than enough time, the contractor I hired after tore up all of Joel's incorrect work installed the parking area and cleaned up all of Joel's mess in 3 days.) He opted to not continue the job. I told him I wanted an itemized invoice for work completed to recoup some of my deposit. He refused to do it so I built on based on my knowledge of the industry and the invoices left when deliveries were dropped off. After submitting it to him ir received the following email: Hello Adam, I have not handled this situation correctly. We are dealing with a lot right now. Please standby for further communication. In case you feel you need it: I am in the wrong here. This entire job and scenario has not sat well with me, how I was raised, and my morals/ethics. What I can tell you is there is no money if you decide to go to court. If you can wait, I will make it right. Thank you. I then offered him to be able to work most of it off with trash pickup and a small monthly payment and he ghosted me. I believe he had no money at the time so I didn't bother taking him to court. I was doing some spring cleaning today and came across all my documentation on this and thought I should let others know. In the end Joel stiffed me on $1900 and showed me he has very unethical business practices. Proceed with caution.

They're all over trying to grab a morsel from the trash. Decent prices. If you're a Recology garbage pick up customer, you get two free dumps per quarter, I believe. I can hardly believe what a terrific operation they have here. Waste pickup service is very good; you get 4 cans: Recycle, Glass, Yard Debris, and of course 'garbage'. I've noted their drivers are careful and good at their jobs. A great perk of being an Astoria customer is they send you a window sticker that lets you go in and drop off consumer volumes of yard debris at this collection facility. We've dropped off dead appliances here as well for a fee. I've noted there is a standalone hazardous waste building as well, not sure of its time/availability. Terriific service with a wave and a smile here. Believe it or not, their website does not provide the address nor a map of where this is! I'd say their IT dept needs some help.
