Hugo had serviced my pool for over 2 years. But he unprofessionally said he will not clean my pool from one day to another. He had accused me of not paying him the full amount of a pool filter change. Which I paid him all in cash. It's interesting how after being his customer for such a long time he wouldn't trust us. I have never in my life cheated a person out their hard work. Obviously, he must have not counted the hundred dollar bills I gave him correctly or maybe he thought I wasn't aware of what I paid him. He clearly told me I gave him less, not the day of the service, but until a month later when my maintenance bill was due. The day I paid him I told him I gave you $50 extra so discount it out of my next maintenance bill since I did not have the exact amount. He even recommended a small pool filter instead of a larger one for the actual size of my pool. Since I had to search for other pool services they told me that it required 60 sq.ft. NOT a 48 sq.ft. Filter. Why wouldn't he recommend this to me? I guess the cheaper route is best for his pocket. At end of it all he completely stopped servicing me this week for that reason. He doesn't care about his customers at the end of the day. I tolerated my pool being left dirty with algae all over the walls and always having to ask him about my chemicals. I hired Hugo about a year ago. He charged me more than he quoted me in a text and when I explained to him that I had the text he had sent he still insisted on charging me the extra amount. I had it in black and white! He chose to ignore it. He also put in some equipment without first asking me if we wanted him to go ahead with it. All, As most of you that own homes with pools recognize, it is difficult to find a dependable pool service company as they are few and far between. I have lived in the Lake Balboa area for over 20 years and we have had our share of pool service companies. One day my wife took charge and started looking for a pool service company. She called Pacific Coast Pool Service and spoke to Hugo, the following week Hugo started cleaning our pool. It has been over 2 years without incidents. We love that the pool is always clean when we are ready to use it (was an issue before). We recently had our filter, pump and the skimmer replaced. Naturally, we asked Hugo for his input, he recommended the system to use and discussed the effectiveness of each system. He recommended we go with Pentair equipment. We proceeded to contract Hugo and his team to replace the system, he walked us through incentives and rebates, and one thing I appreciated was that Hugo took the initiative to print the forms, walked us through the forms, took pictures, and collected all that was required for the mail-in rebate. He provided us with an envelope containing all the original paperwork with copies, and the address to submit the rebates. This made the entire process go smooth. The rebates were 1/3 of the cost of the repairs so that helped considerably! The replacement equipment has been working great and efficiently.
