We purchased a home a couple months ago and hired PCI to come out and do our home inspection. They were in and out in less than 3 hours. They did not go on the roof. We hey used a drone and attached some blurry images to our report. They missed a TON of things (we ended up hiring a second inspection company to come out and they are the ones who found what PCI missed). They never communicated in regards to going over what was in the inspection report. They sent me an email to view the report and before I could do so, I had to sign something stating they weren't liable for anything they missed as well as other stuff. Never have I ever had to sign so for so many disclaimers before buying my other three homes. Their report said they requested my presence at the inspection but that was NEVER communicated with me. I have a hard time leaving negative reviews of businesses. Truly, I do. But I am just so shocked by the negligence from this company that I really had to pause and think about creating this review. read more

Pacific Crest missed some larger items, their owner Matt was rude, condescending, very defensive and my overall experience with this company was not good. Admittedly we bought this house remotely and relied too much on our inspection, and for the most part our inspection was alright but some medium/large issues with the house were left out. The two big things that were missed is the large unscreened gable vent that could be letting in wildlife and the fact that our the gable wall is only the exterior siding, which is unfortunate since there are large gaps and holes in the siding. I called and Pacific Crest put me in touch with the inspector Rick. He was a nice guy, he talked about solutions and reasons that he may have missed these items. He seemed moderately apologetic and generally surprised that he missed these items. I called Pacific Crest back to let them know I spoke with Rick and to let them know I just generally unhappy with the situation. I at this point was still being very friendly and nice, and did not really expect that they would do much to fix the situation; I did not ask for money, repair or restitution. The owner Matt was immediately put on the phone, who in a very corporate 'cover my butt' way wanted to make it clear that they were well outside their warranty and that this construction was something they did in the 70's and that he didn't think any of the issues were a big deal or even in need of fixing (has not seen any pictures). He was not apologetic, his general tone was condescending, he didn't come at it in any sort of customer service or compassionate way. Instead of acknowledging the error he was very defensive, he kept reciting that they weren't liable, that I should have noticed this sooner, that I didn't even know if I had bats or rodent activity and asking what I wanted and why I was even calling. He came off as someone that doesn't know how to run a business and someone that I wouldn't want to work with in the future. I am by far more unhappy with Matt the owner than I am with Rick the inspector who missed the stuff. I understand mistakes happen, but Matt's attitude is what's wrong with the world today. read more

I am in the middle of buying a house for the first time and was looking for inspection companies. Pacific Crest was the cheapest and they offered military discount! I had Rick come out to my house, he was right on time. He allowed me to walk with him and he explained everything he was looking at and his concerns. Any questions I asked, he answered. During the walk around he was very thorough on making sure he looks at everything within his capabilities. Now on to the paper side of things.. His write up was awesome! He wrote up everything with detail on what he saw, condition, concerns, etc. Along with his comments he provided pictures of what he was talking about, and in some pictures he used arrows to point to whatever he was talking about! During a follow up inspection there was a communication mix up, and he missed something during what was supposed to be a re-inspection. It happens, we are all human. But since it was found after closing he didn't take care of it and sent us to his warranty company who ultimately didn't pay (21 hours of wasted time). When asked to take care of the less than $350 bill for repairs. He said he couldn't do that but did finally agree to pay almost half towards it. Buyer beware and be careful. read more
