He hired Mr. Bunzel to do the required inspection for purchasing a house in Coupeville, Washington. Because we were living in Texas, our Washington realtor attended the inspection for us. Before doing the inspection Mr. Bunzel called me and talked to me about his role and what he would be doing. He asked me if there was anything specific that I wanted him to check. I asked Mr. Bunzel to make sure there wasn't anything that would prevent me from installing an updraft range vent. He agreed to do so. After he completed the inspection he called me and gave me a verbal summary of what he found. Mr. Bunzel did make sure there was nothing to prevent the updraft. In addition, he offered a recommendation on how we could do it without disrupting the integrity of the roof. At first I didn't understand but he hung in there with me until I got it. (We will be taking his advice.) Mr. Bunzel completed his report quickly. His inspection of our new home was thorough. I have relabeled his report "Home Maintenance" because he included so much information about what things were, where things were, and how to maintain the house. Given that I have never lived in the northwest, there are so many things about the house and property that I've never encounter before. The additional information Mr. Bunzel included in the report is invaluable to me. Furthermore, his report included videos in which he pointed things out, explained things, and once again provided information about maintaining my new home. Matt of Pacific Crest Inspections was extremely professional, thorough and thoughtful while completing the inspection of a house we are purchasing. He very clearly explained his findings for each area of the house, including the roof, attic, plumbing, crawlspace , appliances, and drainage. When something required repair he told us what we could expect. He made us aware of items that would not require a repair but should be monitored over time. He used a thermal imager to investigate a small leak which could lead to significant problems in the future. I spent a few hours looking for an inspector and by the time I got to Rick I was tired of talking to people. He made me feel at ease and was very polite. The best home inspection we have ever had! A very thorough inspection of an older house in Lynden. The home looked very well cared for on the surface yet Matt's inspection showed some complex problems with the way the home had been remodeled. Most of the things he found were potentially big ticket items.
