I found Jessica via Groupon, and I'm so glad I did! I've tried laser hair removal, as an ideal candidate with dark hair and light skin. However, although I don't regret the decision, I've noticed some hairs growing back, and learned from Jessica that it's not technically a permanent service and can't legally be called that. On the other hand, electrolysis is, and after just several short treatments I'm finally seeing permanent removal of some of those pesky upper lip and chinnegans (as I call them)! Jessica is incredibly sweet, fair, and professional. I have run late to more than one appointment (unfortunately!), as well as had her apologize for a mix-up, and in both instances she was incredibly gracious, did not charge me extra for my error and discounted for her own. She also honors the time we have with each and every appointment, squeezing in as much removal time as possible in a thorough and methodical approach. I'm not going to lie, electrolysis does sting! I was a plucker beforehand so it's not too bad in my opinion, and sometimes even cathartic when I'm thinking "yeah! Get those pesky suckers!", but from the way she prefaced the initial evaluation it can be more painful for other people, although she is very sweet and careful to give you a sample treatment for free demonstrating the different intensity levels. 100% worth it and recommend her service! read more

Booked my first appointment, wasn't sure what to expect but Jessica was thorough when explaining how electrolysis works and what I could expect. She was gentle and asked how I was doing throughout. Facility was clean, slight wait when I arrived but I took that as a sign that she would not rush an appointment. Jessica listened to my input and removed exactly what I requested. My particular skin did not react beyond an hour of redness. Facility was clean and Jessica was professional; I over-booked the amount of time needed, and Jessica refused to charge the higher rate. I've been going to pacific electrolysis for months and followed Jessica from her old office to her new office in Pacific Beach. It is clean, cute and very private. She is a doll to work with and has a winning personality. Electrolysis is a very long process, and takes multiple appointments before you start seeing results. Don't expect one appointment to remove all your hair.. Electrolysis slowly kills the hair follicle and depending on the state of growth, may take several times before it dies. New hair growth is much thinner and eventually dies off. This is not an easy procedure to sit through - she has to kill each follicle one by one and that takes time! Depending on where you want hair removed, it can be a bit painful and numbing cream is recommended. Even though it seems to take forever, I know it will be worth it since the hair will never grow back. You get what you pay for! Highly recommend this place!! read more
