From the moment we took a tour of the school we were greeted by very friendly staff members. They were always available to answer all of my questions and walk me through the enrollment process. Coming from a public school the difference in academics is night and day. The classroom size are small making it easier for students to get the attention and support they need from their teachers. From the beginning it was stressed by every teacher and obvious that they were always available for parents and students. I was always made to feel like my child's success was important and always received the answers I needed in a timely matter. The sense of community is also very strong with parents always making themselves available to help me navigate through my first year. The school has monthly meetings that are held by the principal and vice principal for parents to attend and not only plan the upcoming school events, but to also get updates and most importantly serves as a forum where parents can openly ask questions. The principal and vice principal are constantly working hard to improve the school and are always very transparent with what they are working on. Meetings are held in person or via zoom to allow for parents who can't attend in person to participate: As a new parent it was important to me that my child and I be involved as much as possible to be able to get the full experience and I am grateful that I did because I have seen enormous growth in my child both academically and in her relationship with God. As Catholics it is refreshing to have a nun on campus teaching religion and to see how involved the church is with the school. The only negative thing I can say is that I am sad I did not enroll my child sooner. I highly recommend anyone that is thinking of enrolling their child at Holy rosary Academy to do so.

To be fair, we gave the new principal a full year to adjust and even re-enrolled the following year, hoping things would improve. Two months later, we realized they hadn't. There were several concerns with both academics and values that no longer aligned with what we were looking for. We also experienced a lack of professionalism from some staff members. There were multiple opportunities to address these issues, but our concerns were consistently met with excuses rather than accountability or solutions. Ultimately, we chose to withdraw our children and accept the loss of our enrollment fees because we felt it was the best decision for our family. We have since enrolled them in another Catholic school.

This is when they had an a good principal. All are boys had a great time here learning and playing sport's. One of them was part of the boys water polo championship team! The brought home the win for San Bernardino! I still have our twins here and I know they'll graduate with high honors. The only complaint is that the new principal isn't good and it trickles down due to her incompetence. San Bernardino high gets a bad rap and im here to say don't judge a book by its cover. On my very first day, a male student called me a "fat bitch." The overall culture felt entitled and hypocritical--many people here call themselves "Christians," but their behavior doesn't reflect those values. As someone who values faith deeply, I expected more respect and compassion. Instead, I found students who lacked kindness and basic decency. I believe school should be a place where students can freely share their identity and personal beliefs without fear of ridicule. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at Aquinas. I ultimately left and returned to my home public school, and I would never recommend Aquinas to anyone. In my heart, I do believe that sometimes God places people in difficult environments to remind them to lean on Him. Maybe this school is meant for those who don't know Him and need to seek Him out. But for students who already have faith, Aquinas does not provide anything more. A public school or a different private school would be a much better option. Also, I couldn't help but notice they don't have reviews up on Google, which is concerning.

I saw a vast difference in my child once he started at soar - he became a much more outgoing child and his grades skyrocketed. My youngest has been at soar since kindergarten and is now in 8th grade, his grades are awesome and he never wants to miss school (he's really hoping for perfect attendance this year). I have referred friends, coworkers and family to soar. My co-worker moved her daughter to soar for her 7th grade year this year and said that she has also seen such a dramatic difference in her daughter's grades as well as her attitude. Regarding a school security guard putting his hands on a teenage girl. He manhandled her leaving red marks from handcuffing her and buried her arms from manhandling her. The person's i contacted seemed concerned but unfortunately just kept saying file a school police report. Which i had already done. The school police work with these security guards and are bias. They said they'd do an intensive investigation but they didn't. They just brushed it under the rug and said he was justified to use force on a small teenage girl. Im absolutely appalled by their actions. Poor girl has to have this as an experience at school where she supposed to feel safe. She's actually a good student and I feel awful that this type of incident happened. Unfortunately I was told by more students that this isn't the 1st time these guards have done this! Shame on SBSD for not following through and getting rid of these horrible security guards but then they would have to admit they were in the wrong and that never happens.
