I sent my handyman into get a chandler rewired and it came back with a really short ground wire. I called and Thomas said he told my handyman he had to go to Ace Hardware or somewhere else to get the wire. This would be ok IF he had actually told my handyman. Then he back peddled and said he was really busy. I understand mistakes happen but DON'T belittle a customer, lie and then try to talk your way out of it. A simple I am sorry I made a mistake and this is how it can be fixed is always the correct answer. Customer blaming is how you get a 1 star and negative review. read more

This is a contractor supply house specializing in light bulbs. It sells to anyone, but prices are high for consumer/low volume customers and customer service is poor. This is the place you'll be referred to if you go to the Home Depot and they do not have the bulb you need. I've been quoted a lucrative prices on the phone twice only to have the items ring up at higher prices. It happened last time a few years ago, and it happened again. I call and asked: Do you have (specific type of light bulb) and if so how much are they? They ask: Do you have an account with us? I say: No, I'm a consumer. They say: $x.xx I say: Can I still get that price even if I'm just buying one or two? They say: yes So I go in. I ask for the items I checked on over the phone the same day. I'm told "oh we don't have it in the color you specified". I told the counter guy I was told they do have them just a few hours ago. He goes to the back and they had them. So, he rings me up. Comes up to something like 35% higher prices than I was quoted over the phone. I tell them what I was quoted and guy asks me "who did you talk to? Do you have a name?" like I was making it up. No, I didn't bother to ask and document who took the call, because I wasn't expecting to have to haggle at the counter to get them to honor the quote. Counter guy goes to the back, talks to someone else and brings back the answer "I thought you were buying more". They knocked down some, but I still ended up paying close to 20% more than I was told on the phone. Last time, they quoted pricing on the wrong item with a similar part #. Of course, prices rung up higher than I was quoted... Call first. Get the name, date and time of call. State that you want a non-account cash price with no quantity discount. This company generally don't carry brand name specialty bulbs. They have Havells-SLI, Maxlite, Satco or some other no name outsourced bulbs. You can usually find brand name specialty bulbs (GE, Osram-Sylvania or Philips) on the internet for less, so there's no reason you shouldn't just go on the internet and order them unless they're too long to be shipped economically. While I appreciate the ability to get something right away, I don't really care for having to haggle prices I've already been quoted and for same or lower prices, I prefer brand name bulbs. So, if you don't need it that day, I would order those special bulbs online. read more

This company did a terrible job installing some new lights, which looked really hokey afterwards because they reused some parts from the old lights. They said they could fix it and make it look nice only if I paid an extra charge amounting to hundreds of dollars. The only other option they offered is to remove the equipment and cancel the order. They should have disclosed the total cost to do a good job when they submitted their initial bid. This is one of the very few times in my life when I've felt jerked around by a contractor. Next time I will go to Home Depot, pick out new energy-efficient fixtures that look decent from the get go, and hire an electrician to install them. read more

Thank goodness for this company! They almost always have the light bulbs that all the other places around town do not. And on the rare occasion that the lamp I am looking for is not in stock, they order it in for me. They have an entire huge warehouse full of just light bulbs. Low Voltage, Regular bulbs, Appliance bulbs, Rare Industrial bulbs, you name it. There isn't a store like this anywhere in town. As for prices, I'm honestly shocked to read that another reader felt their prices were expensive. I buy from here several times a year (and no, I don't have an "account" either. I'm not a wholesale buyer.) And I have always found their prices to be WAY more affordable than the big box stores or any other place for that matter. Their bulbs are usually so cheap that if I need one, I'll just buy 6 or 12 of them, because I know I'll need more later and the price is so good. I'd encourage other consumers looking for hard to find light bulbs to check out this store. They are not really wholesale and not really retail. Somewhere in between. Their customer service is decent. Maybe not exactly as nice as the salesmen you'd run into at a place like Lamps Plus or something. But they are nice and professional and they almost always have what you want. When I go in, I need a specific hard-to-find light, they go find it, ring me up and I'm out of there. I don't necessarily need someone to be super friendly or be a great sales person. I just needed to grab a light bulb (or 6) and get on with my day. They're great for that! read more

The "go to" place for bulbs. With everything changing over to LED, they are able to accommodate you very nicely. They take the time and almost always have what you are looking for. I used to order online for LED bulbs or consider one of the big box stores but online has horrible service and the big box only has common sizes and no choices. Use Pacific Wholesale for any light bulb needs. They won't let you down and the prices are fine. I don't understand the comments of high prices. read more

This is a great shop. They have super high quality bulbs. Their brands are better than the junk you that's at Home Depot. We recently just remodeled our kitchen (just moved to the area) and the GE bulbs we bought had a humming noise--and were slightly different colors. A conversation with an OR Energy Trust representative determined that our Church and the school in the lower level, would greatly benefit from a lighting upgrade, and directed us to Mr. Tom Fowler, of Pacific Lamp. Tom responded quickly to our inquiry, completed our needs analysis within days, and expedited the application process to ensure it would meet the fast approaching deadline. Within six weeks, the lighting upgrade was put into motion. The work crew was fast, efficient and personable. Equally important, the men worked carefully around the church and school furnishings, and took the time to vacuum and sweep the floors as a final step. Circumstances required that the work be done outside of regular work hours, and Pacific Lamp was more than flexible with this request, starting late in the day and working well into the evening. There were a few details that required follow-up, which were attended to promptly. The energy analysis predicted the Church would recoup its investment dollars in this project within a year and a half, and it is with great anticipation and excitement, that we receive our monthly bill to see that prediction bear its truth. read more
