I first saw Dr. Yang after a car accident but told him that I also had a decade long shoulder injury. I could barely use my right arm. After two weeks of treatment the pain from the car injury was gone but the shoulder persisted. I was ready to give up and live with pain but Dr. Yang said the problem was that it wasn't my shoulder. I had seen every specialist in Houston and LA. Some wanted to perform surgery to shorten the length of my ulna. Other suggestions were equally as severe. Two weeks of Dr. Yang treating tendons associated with my bicep and 10 years of pain were gone - NEVER TO RETURN. You won't get help here. Mike Yang said that I needed to have a history of stress/anxiety for him to fill out FMLA paperwork. You don't need pre-existing documents or history a history of that medical condition. I never had a history of seizures before, but was just diagnosed with a seizure disorder a few years ago. A person can develop symptoms for a medical condition at any time in their life. I don't know how this doctor doesn't understand this. He's just simply a bad doctor. read more

Dr. Michael Yang was referred to me by Stephanie Prendergast so I came with high expectations. During our second session he convinced me to do cupping on my abdominal area. He said "I'll be back in 2 minutes" He was gone for about 25 minutes. I wanted to move the cups because the pain felt unusual but I decided to trust him. When he came back and removed the cups, there was bleeding in my ab area (see attached photo) Dr Yang didn't apologize, he just said, "it's just a cosmetic wound you'll be fine" When he continued to treat me, I told him I was in pain, he just said, "oh relax... it's not a big deal" "you're a adult, right?" No apologies, or admitting he made a mistake. That picture is taken months later. It was worse at the time. It hasn't gone away. I hesitated to post this review. I enjoy his sense of humor and he seemed like a nice guy. I felt like it was important for others to know. I was in a lot of pelvic pain during that time, and this incident didn't help the situation. read more

I have major autoimmune issues that cause significant amounts of pain. Dr. Michael is the best pain management money can buy. His location is newly renovated and I always appreciate the garden. I live in the Valley and several clients of mine referred me to Michael Yang for acupuncture because of a back injury that I sustained while working out. The facility is located on the corner of Willoughby & Fairfax so there is plenty of residential parking which is always a concern of mine when traveling over the hill. The facility is appealing, welcoming, and clean. I had a horrible day when I arrived for my treatment; I was emotional and tardy. Michael was extremely patient, very accommodating, and had such a great sense of humor, that I was instantly put at ease. Prior to my treatment, we discussed my health issues. For the last decade, I have battled food allergies and have seen numerous doctors including Allergists and Gastroenterologists. Nothing worked. When I explained my situation - food choices and how they effected me, he instantly had the remedy. It was so obvious that I couldn't believe a solution actually existed. So, you want to know if acupuncture works? Yes. It. Does. I came to Dr. Yang about 5 years ago, as a last-ditch effort to cure my restless legs (go ahead, laugh). Weird problem, no real cure, because "they" don't know exactly what causes it. Iron deficiency--maybe. Stress--probably. I think my case was particularly bad. Mostly in the early evening the "shocks" would start. Every few minutes I'd get "shocked" through my legs. It felt like a power chord getting shoved into the back of my calves, and it'd send a jolt through my entire leg. This would go on for hours- every day, any time I was in "wind-down" mode. (Airplanes, movie theaters, Netflix...). Even after I would *eventually* fall asleep, the restless dance party would go on. ANYWAY, I came to Dr. Yang for the restless leg issue, and couldn't have supposed the many other health benefit's I've enjoyed as a result of that decision. He's smart. Like, *actual doctor* smart. (PS, he is a "real" doctor). He keeps my back and neck healthy (I'm a cubicle worker with an ample bosom), he's a nutritionist, so I eat better, I sleep like a rock, and I don't feel the "existential panic" quite so much after our weekly appointments. It is funny how you forget sometimes who is really great at what they do, until someone asks you for help and you are thinking of who to refer them to see, that is the case this early morning. She has recently had a child and does not feel comfortable with the idea of taking medication or even alcohol to help her sleep. I have been to several other doctors for treatment and this is THE BEST place in town for acupuncture. I've been going here for about 4 years now and I can say, hands down, Dr. Yang is the most professional, courteous, and knowledgeable doc I've seen. He's great at what he does and always makes time for his patients when they need him (he's even made Saturday hours when necessary). I've been in for anything from a terrible back to a severe cold and his treatments have worked wonders. I recently broke my ankle and had a plate and 6 screws put in and as soon as I was out of my cast and able to get to see the him, I went.
