Dr. Mahtaban changed my life. Two years ago, when I was 15, I had a debilitating lifting accident in my school's gym. I had it checked out by my school's athletic trainers, in which they told me to take pain medications and rest as they didn't flag it as "any big deal." The next day, I had a competitive golf-match which I tried to play through and later found out that I definitively couldn't. I was in so much pain I couldn't sleep and I could barely walk (something a 15 y/o should never have to experience). Turns out, I had a disc herniation (L4-L5) that went undiagnosed by my school's athletic trainers. That's when my dad had booked me an appointment here, at Elite Chiropractic with Dr. Mahtaban. I have spent countless hours with Dr. Mahtaban and the rest of the staff here at Elite, and they are truly the best people. The combination of decompression therapy, traditional adjustments, and cupping therapy allowed me to make a full recovery. I am back feeling better and healthier than I ever have and that is all thanks to Jamie and his team. I was back to lifting within a few months and back to golf within six. Even today I still utilize the stretches and exercises that Dr. had assigned me when I was hurt. Aside from the treatment, Dr. Mahtaban and his team are amazing people. I started coming to Jamie at Elite chiropractic after I herniated my disc and was in severe discomfort. Every movement caused unbearable pain. My husband told me to start going to Jamie because he had the same issue as I did, and Jamie ultimately healed him. Jamie started me out on the decompression table and I felt immediate relief. I injured my back during a required training event for work (bulged disk). I needed to re-take the training to move up in my career, however I could not prepare for it let alone do the training due to pain. After six months of PT and two cortisone injections, the latter of which only provided temporary relief I found Elite Chiropractic. With one adjustment from Dr. Mahtaban I felt 80% better. Thanks to his treatment plan over the following months I was able to prepare for and pass the critical training for my career. I lived with pain and leg weakness from a l5-s1 annular tear (torn disc) in my back for almost a year. I had been referred to a spine surgeon because the symptoms were beginning to heavily affect my daily life, especially by the end of the day. I've been seeing Dr. Jamie for a little over a year now. He's the most kind, accommodating, honest, and effective chiropractor you could ask for. Every session he is measuring progress, tracking new symptoms/issues, and assigning exercises to do at home. He consistently takes his time to get to the root of the problem and thinking of ways to relieve pain and tension. If Dr. Jamie feels that you're presenting an issue that is beyond his scope, he is honest and will refer you to a doctor. Elite Chiro is the best. I've been dealing with chronic nerve pain and muscle pain resulting from disc degeneration, disc herniation, torn ligaments, etc. for years after a highly athletic lifestyle. I was only 25 when the pain started and wanted to avoid surgery as much as possible. Dr Mahtaban and his team have been attentive and gone the extra mile to truly understand my issues and find remediations, therapies and solutions to help me rebuild my body. I have had terrible back issues for the past 17 years. I have multiple herniated discs, spinal stenosis, and have been dealing with pain for nearly two decades. When I moved to Los Angeles nearly 3 years ago, I was looking for chiropractor who would do more than just adjust my back. I found Dr. Jamie Mahtaban and Elite Chiropractic after researching local chiropractors and reading reviews, and boy did I make the right decision. From the start, Dr Mahtaban has treated me with patience, kindness, and thoughtful plans to reduce my daily pain. Everyone at the practice from Dr Mahtaban, Dr Fantasia, and the office staff are truly wonderful and care about their patients as people and not numbers on a file. I have been seeing Dr Mahtaban and Dr Fantasia at Elite Chiropractic for more than 2.5 years and can honestly say that I have not had this much mobility or minimal back pain since about 2006. We have gone through numerous treatment modalities, focusing heavily on soft tissue work and developing functional stretching and low impact exercises to strengthen my core. I have been lifting weights for 30 years and was already strong and flexible, but the rehab exercises that Dr Mahtaban offered me have dramatically improved my stability and reduced my day-to-day back pain. Dr Mahtaban - you should've also practiced honesty, delivering excellent customer service and being a professional during that 8 years. You are far away from being a professional doctor and I can assure that from the text messages you sent me after I posted this review. You should've taken responsibility to sort this issue before I took it to my insurance legal department. Your receptionist is the most disrespectful person I have ever come across at a doctor's office. When I called to ask for my refund, she refused to give me one and when I said I would take it to my insurance legal department and will have them handle it legally, she said "do whatever you want". In those exact words. The attached screenshots prove that Dr Mahtaban is not an honest person. (I only showed the last four digits of his phone number because unlike him, I still respect people's privacy). They were contacted by my insurance legal department and were reminded that they can't overcharge any patient based on the agreement they have with them. Pay attention to the time and dates in the pictures. I called their office at 310-880-1696 on 6/4/21 at 9:21am to ask for my refund which the receptionist refused to do so. The conversation lasted 4 minutes. Then right after I called my insurance at 888-802-8776 which transferred me to the legal department at 9:26am on 6/4/21. The conversation took 51 minutes because it was a three-way call with Andrew from customer service and the representative from the legal department to go over my claim. Then I was put on hold for almost 30 minutes so they could contact the Dr's office to investigate the issue. I received a call from Dr Mahtaban at 10:45am right after his office talked to the insurance legal department, which I missed Then he sent me a text message at 10:45am that he is willing to issue me a refund and he asked me to call him back. I called him back at 10:46am and we discussed the form of refund. This conversation took 6 minutes. He asked me to call the office and I refused to as I didn't want to talk to his disrespectful receptionist anymore. Therefore, we agreed on him issuing me a check as a form of the refund. I texted him my address and the amount of refund that I needed to receive. Here is the reference number for the claim I opened with my insurance company regarding this issue: #XX7576 ( I put only the last four digits. If Dr Mahtaban insists to be dishonest, then I can provide the entire Claim#) Dr Mahtaban also texted me on 6/17/21 at 7:07pm, saying "it was so messed up man" after I put my review on here. It was so unprofessional of him to text a patient to comment about their review in this manner. This shows that he clearly has no idea what being a professional means. Based on Dr Mahtaban's previous negative experiences, he cares about the money before he even cares about the patient's pain. Now his perspective about his patients is that they are all thieves who don't want to pay their bill after their visit, and that's why he overcharges them and also bills their insurance to get paid even more. This is an awful mentality that someone who claims to care about their patient's pain to have. Dr mahtaban - with all due respect, you should first practice professionalism to avoid any bad reviews in the future instead of spending time trying to justify your mistake and prove that your patients are wrong. read more

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Mahtaban. I've had it all -- back pain, neck pain, broken leg, bad knees, bad ankles, bad shoulders and he never fails to take the pain away AND help with my mobility. He listens to my concerns and tackles each issue as it comes. I've limped in and walked out normally and I swear he's made me taller and helped my posture. His focus on muscle work has really done wonders for me. He's sensitive to my medical history as I had a stroke due to a torn artery in my neck and never twists or turns my head or neck or does any adjustments there as to not cause further injury, but rather works on the muscles around that area to provide relief in ways no other specialist has been able to do. I am a very satisfied patient. I went to Dr. Mahtaban because I was having a lot of pain in my left knee. Walking was manageable but difficult. During the very first session as he was working on my knee and massaging and stretching my leg, we heard a "pop." I got off the table and there was already improvement in my walking ability. A few more sessions and the pain was dramatically lessened even more. If someone has arthritis like I do, he can't make that go away. Not only was Elite Chiropractic able to take me in as a walk-in client. I left feeling immeasurably better. Dr Mahtaban and Steven are experts at their job. I've had some past injuries from car accidents where the pain naturally subsided, but these pains re-occurred after rock climbing for the first time. I had woken up a few days ago with a very stiff neck. Over the following few days, it was impossible to sleep. I thought over time it would get better but it wasnt, so I had to call for help. I contact Dr. Mahtaban and made an appointment for 4:30 PM. I arrived at 4:10 and they were able to see me right away. I was placed in a room, but then Dr. said I would be better suited for another room due to my height (made me fee he really wanted to give me the best help he could). I was placed on a larger bed (compared to the one I saw originally) and he went to work on my neck. 30 min later, I walked out that place feeling MUCH better. I have been going to Dr. Mataban regularly for three months. I have had two back injuries in the past (2000 and 2016) and for the most part thought I had healed from them. Which is huge for me as to be honest I feel that says something about a doctor and their propensity to help as many people as possible 3. I've been a gym rat and triathlete most of my life. I've been blessed after 43 years to have never suffered any serious injury... just typical aches and pains, until recently.
