    Wonderful Docent taking us

My 3 yr old son has lately expressed interest in fighter jets. Took him here from Mukilteo. Museum is interesting he can move around a turret gun and look old propellers engines rifles swords propeller hooks, old uniforms ect. He was asking what everything was on display. You have to go across the street to the old bomber plane where 2 of its bombs on display, a few vehicles ect. FYI You cannot go into the plane until summer when they're done restoring it. Flight simulator is for children 10+. Very welcoming friendly staff and interesting stop for any age.

Teenager gets to work a turret gun.

Does anyone know the approx date, time and route for the relocation of the PBY to Ault Field Rd as I missed seeing any of this the last 2 times it was moved?

As of today, weather depending, tentative Aug 20. Update: airlift was cancelled, looking into other options to move the plane.

We lots of discipline, we got our tickets and entered the incredible children's museum. You walk into a woodland wonderland and it only gets better from there. We are pretty partial to our home museum in Cincinnati and haven't found a better one but this comes very close. Theres so many interactive areas. There is a treehouse down toward the right when you walk in along with a small town. A walk on airplane that allows kids to work with parcels, a train engine you can walk into with model train set behind. A water station as well as stairs to the outdoor portion with an extensive jungle gym, musical instruments, mini golf, and an excavation site with dinosaurs! They had science exhibits for older kids and younger kids alike. A toddler area as well. You could keep any kid toddler to about 10 years of age entertained for hours. Parking isn't free unless you can snag a coveted spot in front but it's not too pricey. Admission is $22 a person. They have last half hour free during summer which is nice. Staff are dressed in purple and nothing but kind and friendly. There is a cafe at the top (well, a "food truck" theme) and tables and benches to eat. Looked like you could pack your own food. Also looked like you could host birthday parties and field trips. All in all, impressive children's museum. We can't wait to come back!

In general, I'm not sure if I would go out of my way to come back but with kids who like small things, trains, dioramas, it was worth doing! I think we were in and out in about an hour. I bet some kids could zoom through in less time (then maybe not worth the price?) and some kids might take 1.5-2 hours, so maybe try to gauge if you think its something you/your family would enjoy. Some displays had buttons that didn't work but for the most part if you looked or read the placard you could figure out what was going on.

It was clear that a lot of time and talent went into many of the exhibits. That said, the experience felt a bit inconsistent. Some areas were much more engaging than others, and a few of the displays didn't have the same level of detail. At times, multiple audio narrations were playing at once, which made it difficult to focus and became a little overwhelming. We also noticed that several of the interactive buttons and TV displays weren't working during our visit. For $19, I don't regret stopping by, but it just wasn't quite what I was expecting. For me, it's more of a one-time attraction than somewhere I'd visit again. If you enjoy miniature art and displays, it may be worth checking out, but it ultimately wasn't the right fit for my interests.
