We went to visit the Pacific Precious Metals store in Sausalito, CA on the recent Saurday (2-14-2026) and were humiliated by the Chinese salesman speaking Mandarin, who was working alone at that time and had treated us really as like we were so stupid, not knowing anything about a fake or a real Chinese silver bar. I called multiple shops around the area in regards to buying and selling silver just to get a feel of what premiums shops are buying and selling from spot. The first thing that caught my attention was that the Pacific Precious Metals team was very kind and courteous while answering all my questions on the phone. Second, they quoted me very competitive rates that are both very fair and close to spot compared to many of the local shops are asking. At the time, I wasn't able to visit the store until just last week when Silver prices went up a little. There, I met with Preston, the shop manager, who was very welcoming and knowledgeable. We chatted a bit and offered me a great price for my tube of silver rounds and a handful of 90 and 40 percenters. I also had a piece of silverware that I wanted to check, and he helped by checking the percentage of silver with the laser gun. What's also great is that the storefront is about 20 feet away from the Broadway Plaza garage that offers free parking for the first hour. Overall, I had a great experience. The store manager, Preston, was very kind, patient and easy-going with me as he evaluated my items and calculated their scrap value. I'm pretty ignorant about collectible coins but Preston gave me the straight scoop about which mint marks and years made certain coins more valuable. I have been purchasing at PPM for the past 5 years. I found their price is reasonable, somewhere about $94 - $100 over spot price. Before that, I always went to San Jose jewelry stores and paid at least $200 over spot price. Moreover, PPM is great and provides good customer service.
