I reached out to Fidelity Investment in March 2022 to discuss options for moving my 401k, 401k Roth, & my pension from financial company I worked for 33 years, plus few dollars from a prior company of 15 years. I had talked with four financial advisors including Fidelity Investments over 3 month period while retired. I was impressed with David Woodworth and opinions he had suggested. Basically, I purchased an annuity through 'USSA' through Fidelity Investments, so I would receive monthly checks for rest of my life. Plus, my other monthly income includes: social security, rental properties and mineral rights. In addition, I left some 401k $$$ in my Fidelity Investment Accounts, giving Fidelity Investment the 'Okay' to manages these dollars. I have been asked repeatedly by friends / family how much do I pay Fidelity Investment, my response have been minimum. This pertains only to the poor telephone service. I waited on hold for 23 minutes before giving up in high frustration. The robo recording kept saying how sorry it was that they were experienced a high call volume, blah blah blah. . However, 6 times during my wait I was connected to a ringing phone line-- that nobody answered, then the cycle of the robo voice began again. I made 2 more calls for a total of 3 in 2 hours, with the combined wait time almost 1 hour ! I understand everything is not instant but really, nobody to answer a waiting call for 20+ minutes ?? I went into this branch because for months I was having issue with ComputerShare, trying to receive my money from an account that my past employer setup. Finally I went into this branch after months and hours of over the phone "customer service". Lexis was beyond helpful. I was amazed that she turned my months of bouncing around customer service to a 20 minute conversation. Outstanding. Save yourself time and money and go to the branch. read more

I am a fan of fidelity investments - online - so many tools and financial options plus great research and I had one meeting with Garrett and he was awesome but the others (Bobby and AJ) not so much. Bobby was assigned to me when I first moved my accounts, at first he was good but then just stopped following up and I am super low maintenance, maybe one email every 2-3 years- it might be because I have worked in Financial Services for 20 years and don't want to pay for advice. Then Fidelity hounded me (called me about 5 times) to set up time to 'review my account' and I finally agreed and then AJ did not even bother to show up - never called or tried to reschedule. I love the online capabilities and as I mentioned they have some strong employees but there are also those who hound you about setting up an appointment and then are a no show. I have accounts at Chase and BofA and don't love their brokerage but might move to vanguard - not fidelity- and see how they compare on servicing. read more

I have recently been trying to consolidate some of my accounts. In particular, I have a QDRO-related pension and one from a relatively brief stint with my first employer out of school. The calculations give me a choice of a per month stipend after retirement or a lump sum. I've decided on the later, and with an IRA rollover that allows me to be responsible for growing my money. I already have accounts through Fidelity, both through my employer and on my own. So it make sense to use them for some of my investment choices. Over the years, Fidelity's recommendations have been well considered and I have always felt that their representatives have been helpful and low pressure. The resulting ROI is my responsibility, but I certainly appreciate the help and the research behind their recommendations. read more

About two years I went to Fidelity in Walnut Creek to buy a deferred annuity using my Roth IRA. I thought it would give me peace of mind to have a guaranteed stream of tax free income for the rest of my life. The first Fidelity adviser I met wasn't familiar with investing a Roth IRA into an annuity. So, I left and came back another day to talk to another Fidelity adviser, That adviser wouldn't allow me to buy the annuity because he said that I should invest my money in the stock market. Now, I regret so much that I didn't get the annuity. I could have been on my way to retirement had I bought deferred annuity. Now, I am down so much in the stock market that it will take years to recover if I am lucky, and I am 67. I will have to work much longer now. read more

Professional service provided by the male representative at the counter got me in and out quickly. I had a few questions I asked him during the transaction and he answered those accurately. I verified the information later (regarding different account types) and it was all true. Contrary to my experiences dealing with the Fidelity call centers, which are ineffective at resolutions and take forever (wait times and such) this branch seems to be adequately run. Bear in mind this was my one trip there ever but it was a professional and efficient experience. Parking is validated by Fidelity if you park in the garage, so it doesn't cost anything to park if you're doing business there. read more

The rep gave me several recommendations, all of which seemed rational and a couple of which I acted on right away. The office is close to BART. We recently began our retirement planning and found an excellent, smart advisor to help us with all aspects of the plan. He recently moved to this office (the office is very nice). I've been very satisfied with the service and knowledgeable staff at the Walnut Creek location. In December '07, I was very busy planning my wedding and studying for my Series 7 (securities license). I was also trying to take care of some financial business. Vanguard was completely useless- I was literally frustrated to tears with their staff telling me something different every time I called. Finally fed up, I called Fidelity at Walnut Creek. They were able to help me in one quick visit. I've been happy with the service ever since. I definitely recommend this branch! read more

I have been a Fidelity customer for a couple of decades now and the service has always been really great. I am fairly sophisticated and buy and sell options and own preferred stocks and ETFs. I have always gotten my questions answered no matter how esoteric. I have always worked with them over the phone or have gone to the Campbell office near my home. I called the Walnut Creek branch to see if I could get some help opening an account for my elderly parents. I spoke to Adam who assured me that if I came in they would have someone to help me and I didn't need and appointment. I brought my parents over and it turns out Adam was available to help us. HE SPENT AN HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES with my parents not only setting up the account but going over every little detail and answering every question. My parents do not have a large amount of money and I was worried they might not even open and account for them. Here's my five stars for Fidelity as a company: NO FEES, no minimum to open an account. Adam actually set up the accounts with NO MONEY in them and told them when they were ready to move money from their current bank they could move it over. No charge for checks. No fees for the debit card. All ATM charges (in their network, which is Star and something else, so it covers most ATMS) are rebated. Just incredible. read more

I have entrusted my 401k to Fidelity Managed Account for more than a year and performance is miserable. On top of that, commissions are of course paid no matter. If you want to be treated rudely, then go to this branch. I've been a customer of Fidelity for 10 years now, and very happy with the internet service. However, I needed to go to a branch to deposit some checks. Several employees were behind the desk and I was their only customer. After being kept waiting, finally I told them I wanted to deposit my checks. They told me to use the machine. I didn't drive all the way down there and pay for parking just to use their machine! They were not busy, they can easily deposit cheques! Finally they did, and took forever to do it. When I asked why it was taking so long (since remember I was the only customer), I got some surly remark that "this is not a bank". From the minute I walked in, I felt as if they did not want to see, hear from or speak to any customers at all. Their customer service skills are non-existent! When I complained to Fidelity via their 800 number, I was told that Fidelity does not have anything to do with their branches...it's all up to the branch manager. Which is really odd. You would think that Fidelity would care about its face to face reputation. So, if the branch manager has no customer service skills whatsoever, then he's not going to care that his staff have none either. If you want an unpleasant experience, then come here. I will be moving my account to Wells Fargo who greet you with a smile the minute you walk in! read more
