In fact when I was driving to my appointment I realized I didn't have my previous vets paperwork for my pet and 15 mins prior to my appointment she was calling them herself to have them sent over without me even having to run home to get the copies or anything. Even though it was totally my fault I forgot. Then in the exam room Dr Drake was sooo good with my cat. It was a thorough exam and while she was doing it the whole time the other vet helping her was giving my cat a treat and it made it so easy on everyone involved. I've never seen my cat so calm at a vet visit before! They offer great insurance programs too for pets to get routine care as necessary.

Despite this, we were kept waiting past our appointment time as the front desk staff seemed preoccupied chatting. My dog ended up peeing on the floor, and I had to leave her for a few hours to allow her bladder to fill again. While the vet was great with Penny, I felt that the front desk's communication was poor. One person confirmed my dog's health records had been received from her previous doctor, but when I arrived, I was told her immunization records were missing. I was also told she would look into this and follow up with me via phone, but I received no call. I have no idea where that netted out. Overall, I think my dog had a good visit and there is plenty of parking in this shopping center.

I gave to him an hour before as directed and I explained Charlie's history and my concerns to both the groomer and front desk personnel upon his check-in. A few hours later I picked him and was surprised to see an additional $50 added to his $70 grooming fee for "special handling". There is absolutely no info posted in the office, on the website nor in the multiple pages of paperwork required for first timers. I feel this fee is excessive and the website/paperwork should be updated to reflect that clients may incur additional charges. I more than likely won't be returning but that may be what they wanted anyway as my sweet pup can certainly be a pain.

Pemberley got really sick though. We tried everything obvious, the vets fought hard to figure out her mystery illness and gave her first rate care. I was floored that the vets discussed her symptoms and treatment even when we weren't there. We even received a phone call that our vet had been thinking/researching during her weekend and came up with what was ultimately the cause. They are not equipped for large dogs and need to redo their protocols. They definitely do not meet their mission statement!

I'm a newer cockatiel owner. I have done a lot of research and reading about the care of these birds before rescuing a pair. I have also previously had a large breed dog for 14 years, and although we lived elsewhere in NOVA and went to a different vet, that gave me an idea of prices to expect, also considering that birds are an exotic pet, which I expect to be more pricey as it requires specialized care. I found the prices to be extremely reasonable. I was offered basic meds for the issues they were having, like us taking an Aleve, and the general care to be thorough, attentive, and very loving. We spent about 45 min on each bird during our initial visit, and about 30 each on the follow-up. Every member of the staff was beyond lovely and loving. They truly care about pets and educating owners in order to empower us to give our pets the best quality of life possible. Highly recommend using this vet.

The setting is very homey, and i think the dogs believe they are in someone's home vs a cold barren clinic. It is delightful to see how they decorate for every holiday and event. Just wonderful people. Of note we needed to put to rest our dear little boy of 17 years. The doctor and staff were so supportive and loving. The process was patient and unrushed. Cremation service items were lovely, and we will cherish the memorial items, including the card the staff sent a few days later. We cannot recommend them highly enough. They really understand how to care for a member of your family through their whole lifecycle.

We are a family on the move every 1-3 years, so we have lots of records from multiple states and countries for two different dogs. They spent a great deal of time reviewing each and making sure they only received the vaccinations they needed. Both my dogs have health issues, they took the time to get to know both my pups, and we discussed a treatment plan for my older dog. I left feeling confident that I made a good choice for my pups.

We can't get appointments when our dog needs care and/or emergency visits. We don't get calls or emails back when they are expected and now, the office does not have Saturday openings at all. There was no notice about this but just no more weekend office hours. I understand that the staff and Dr. Learman may be tired and overworked but there are other ways. Everyone knows that in NOVA, you need weekend hours as people are busy with children, home life, PETS, and need more time to make things work not push it into a work week. I called the office about this and they didn't even care :( Update-I called over to my new vet 3x's and MapleShade has still not sent over the records to them. This is a perfect example of why I am leaving.
