The absolute best place for mailing/shipping anything! They're the only place I know in New Orleans that accepts packages for UPS, USPS, and FedEx without making you pay for dropping off for any of them. If you need to print a shipping label, just email it to them, and they'll print it and put it on your package for you for less than a quarter per page. They email you your tracking number after you mail anything that comes with one which makes tracking your package so much easier than having to type 20 digits from a paper receipt. They also have mailboxes, printing, notary services, gift wrapping, take passport photos, and sell boxes, packing supplies, and great cards among other things. Everyone who works here is great. Even when it's busy they're nice and helpful, and you're never rushed. They're really well organized so even if there is a line, it usually moves quick. read more

Thanks to this amazing woman-owned business, my days waiting in line at the post office are pretty much over. I found them when I needed a notary public, but discovered that they have a lot more to offer with a lot less hassle. They ship by USPS and Fed Ex, have post office boxes, all kinds of packing materials, and do copying, faxing, etc. And while you're waiting (usually not long), there are racks of greeting and post cards to look at. Everyone in the store is friendly and knowledgeable, and they keep the line moving. You have to pay to park on Magazine, but I always find free parking on the side streets, and the neighborhood is cute. I love this place! read more

Love this place! First off, it was only women working in there, protecting each other and so helpful and kind! We had some print outs to do, and the lady who took care of us was super nice! The rates also were very cheap compared to other places that offered print outs. Highly, highly recommend. Just be prepared to wait a while as they take good care of each customer, so the line moves a little slowly and there are Covid protocols in place, so we try to keep it 3 customers in the room at a time, but the ones that came behind us didn't observe that protocol, so we were kinda packed in, and customers kept coming in after us, while we queued for at least 20 minutes outside to preserve the 3 customer rule. If that was a little confusing to read, let me expound. We saw a 2 person line waiting outside the glass door, read the sign on the window that said 3 customers in the room at a time. Somehow... these people didn't pack the most important and expensive object in the box. I know this because, I was there to not only drop it off at Pack Rat, but to also receive the box in California 4 days later. The box came unharmed and everything was present that I dropped off.. except $4,500.00 worth of hair cutting shears. I am never going to a regular post office again. When I lived in Texas, I had several locally-owned shipping centers where I mailed my packages from. I had yet to find that in New Orleans and was subjected to the ineptitude that is the US Postal Service. The straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak, was when I sent an antique glass jadeite cake plate to my grandmother for her birthday and she received glass confetti. I was just sending a padded envelope of t-shirts to my family for Mardi Gras, and the ladies behind the counter were attentive and helpful. WORTH THE SURCHARGE and although only a half mile from the US Post Office branch on Louisiana where you can wait 15, 20, 30 minutes for an attendant, I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes to mail a package at Pack Rat.
