I've had the pleasure of taking part in both outdoor competitions and indoor training here and literally look forward to it every time! The basin is easily accessible by public transport, and offers a nice open space with ample seating for spectators. The views are also great here, be it that it's located off island in an open space, allowing to get great shot of the sunrise especially during those really early morning competitions. There are always staff onsite to keep the venue clean and safe, and every event hosted here has been a great success. The only downside is the price of parking which will set you back 25$, unless you're a member of the club where you can pay for a more affordable parking pass.

There is a pretty good selection of climbing shoes for sale, with prices roughly comparable to those at MEC. Overall I can't think of anything to complain about at this gym and recommend it to climbers of any skill level.

You hang your outerwear by the door and take off your footwear. You can choose to be barefoot or wear socks. As a first timer, I was introduced to proper form, positions, and movement. The last thing anyone wants is an injury. I felt accommodated and thoroughly enjoyed my workout. You start off with stretching and stability to get warmed up and then you move on to specific exercises and sequences. Many had their own programs and designated weight expectations. It's not a large space but it allows for more personalized instruction. The instructors move around to check in on each individual. What I did notice and appreciate was the range of clientele. They welcome all ages and body types, and it felt inclusive. A nice community of like-minded people looking to gain muscle, improve strength, and increase mobility. While the rapids were pretty intense, there were enough breaks in-between for beginners. The activity was a work-out, but not overly rigorous. You had the chance to paddle together and work together as a team, were directed by experienced staff, and had several moments where you went right into the rapids. There was also some down time for relaxing and jumping into the water. The staff was fantastic! They were friendly, provided the background and history, gave great instructions, and all had a wonderful sense of humor. They were able to explain in both French and English and really made the experience memorable. We'd highly recommend as this was the highlight of our visit.

Payments are contactless. One side , you will find all the clean equipments (paddle, life jackets), and when you are done with your activity, your bring you dirty equipments on the other side. At H2O adventures, you can Kayak, Pedaling, ride the canoes and go on electric boats. We enjoyed Kayaking for 1 hour. The staff helped us to us loaded into the boat, and then we go into the canal. The scenery of the canal Lachine was serene. Plus, Excellent exercise for the arms. I know I don't have upper arms muscles yet, but I do feel slight strong... lol. Definitely recommended, hop on your adventure before the summer ends.

The equipment is in great shape and my boat is in the water waiting for me at my rental time. NOTES: they DO have lockers, but you need to bring a lock.

Le Crux has started a great activity that I just love. Climbing and bouldering! It's an amazing…read moreexercise. A great activity for cardio, strength training and endurance for many muscle groups. Being new to this sport they offer for you to rent climbing shoes and a harness very easily at Le crux for inexpensive. Bring socks. They have many options for day pass, a set # of visits and 1/2 year or annual passes. I started this challenging new sport in the summer time and noticed on a few visits this summer that they do many day camps for young kids. Beware as on the camp days over by the ninja warrior gym those walls can get fairly busy. On the first visit you must sign their waiver and have an intro by a staff member. The process does take a bit of time and thus if there is a big group upon arrival the entrance can get backed up a bit when you arrive. Stay patient. The fun is about to begin. I usually do a bit of top roping at different degrees of difficulty and then go for some bouldering. Bouldering is more difficult and harder on the hands. Working on building up endurance and strength. My average visit is usually around three hours. After that my hands feel sore and chafed. For some of these guys/ girls who are more advanced it's pretty amazing to watch them climb. They make climbing up the walls look so easy! It's like a monkey chasing after a stash of bananas at the top. Oh how I wish this sport was around when I was a scrawny skinny teenager! It would have been easier when I was pounds lighter. :) The complex is quite large with lots of different options from beginner to quite difficult! There is bouldering on the main floor and second floor. Also on the second floor is a gym for strength training. The do sell climbing shoes and chalk in powder and block format. Also there is a cafe with quick healthy prepared food options. Also the have areas where you can sit at a picnic bench, eat a lunch and take in some of the bouldering action. Le crux has announced a new location coming soon in a laval . So I can't wait to see see how it's planned out different. Also hopefully they allow you have access to visit both locations with a membership. It's a great sport and great activity to take young kids along with to burn off some steam. I really enjoy coming here with friends. The staff is very friendly and if it's your first time they explain the rules and guide you on the different areas of the gym. You can rent shoes and a chalk bag, they have a nice shop area as well if you want to buy any of your own gear. Their entryway could use a bit of a change since in the winter I find it gets really wet with all the boots and they run out of hangers because of the heavy winter coats, but other than that it's good!

A good, small climbing gym that's on the outskirts of Montréal. They have two indoor bouldering…read morewalls and one outside, but we weren't able to check out the latter as it was raining pretty hard. We were only able to climb the top out bouldering wall on the lower floor as they were changing the routes on the bouldering wall upstairs (not top out). There're more top-roping options than bouldering, and lead routes have the least available (understandable). I find it more worth it top-rope, so if you're new to the gym or visiting I would go with someone who can belay. As for the boulders themselves, they are graded based on circuits (V0, V0-V2, V2-V4, etc.; the grading scale is accurate). There were no V0s when we went, and there were 2 V0-V2s and 2 V2-4s, so if you're looking for a place more beginner-friendly, I would look elsewhere. Most of the climbs were advanced, so I would recommend being around V4 and above to make your visit(s) here worth it.
