Love love love the bike trails in Sioux Falls! What a lovely oasis in the middle of the city and…read morenext to the interstate. The trails are clearly marked with mile markers and signage. They have dog bags and trash cans along the way which makes it easier to take your dog along with you for an nice walk or run. There are parking lots to access the trails about every mile. The trails run along the Sioux River, so there are a lot of trees and nature to observe and it's quiet from the nearby city traffic. It's my favorite place to walk in the mornings (when it's not freezing out in the winter months) with my dog : )

The legend of Jesse James's leap across the chasm to evade a posse! You can now walk across a bridge that spans the gap which brings this jump into perspective. The steep, quartzite walls, and rushing water make it easy to understand the legend's persistence. The feat's impossibility adds intrigue to the natural landscape! The park also features hiking trails with views of the river, wildflowers, and prairie grasses. A narrow path has been etched into the landscape by Split Rock Creek! A two-tiered waterfall creates a symphony of rushing water amidst the terrain. The path offers various viewing points of the rock formations and stream. The park offers discoveries, including the historical marker about Jesse James, the waterfall, and multiple rock formations. Devil's Gulch offers an adventure for those who appreciate local lore and natural beauty!

There are really no bells or whistles at this campground, however they have a very nice park with a…read morenice shaded walking path. This campground had WiFi which was pretty good. They have a nice play area for kids (see pictures), and a walking path way. We actually stayed here 2 different dates. They have beautiful and huge widow maker trees which offered a lot of shade. Pull through sites with full hook up or just electric and water. They do have a dump station that is on the wrong side of the campground. You have exit out of the campground then make this sharp turn in order to use it. Both times we stayed here were very peaceful and quiet. You must go to the park when the sun is setting. You will get beautiful pictures (please see photos). The first time we stayed at site 8 and then site 9 on the second time. This campground is very reasonably priced at $30 a night. It is a perfect place to pull in and get some sleep then to leave the next day back on the road. The town is really cute and small. For a fast dinner or meal, try Pizza Ranch out. At the campground you are just a bike ride or a short driver over to the old quarry! Fortunately the whole herd of buffalo was right outside the observation deck!!! Luverne, MN is the town nearby and it is just a 10 min drive. Close enough to grab some food but far enough to not ruin the nature atmosphere! The park is a great getaway from normal life and I will definitely be returning soon!
