Ryan took my family of 5 on an amazing private kayak tour of Blackstone Bay. his equipment- kayaks, rain gear, boots, spray skirts, hand mitts- were all very high quality. He was incredibly patient and accommodating with all my questions and concerns in the weeks leading up to it. he coordinated with Lazy Otter tours for "taxi service" to the boat launch, as well as extended touring time on their heated boat. Ryan and Adam were extremely organized and exceptional guides. They answered our MANY questions before we booked and then help alleviate fears of cold and water before we got in the boats. We had a beautiful day out on the water, saw otters, seals, and many different waterfowl. The Kittiwake rookery was one of my wife's favorite things. The glaciers we're amazing with many books and a few impressive calvings. Lunch was provided and delicious. Ryan took myself, my aunt, and my uncle for the most incredible day on the water. It was raining and I was visiting from Oregon so I did not have the proper rain gear. He made sure that all of us were outfitted correctly and that in the end ensured that we all stayed dry! And it WAS raining. But it made for an incredible day because it felt like we were kayaking on a lake almost. He also was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the surrounding glaciers. It was great to have some facts behind what we were seeing to give it more perspective. I would HIGHLY recommend booking a trip with his company. We rented a fiberglass tandem boat and associated gear from Paddlers' Realm for a 10 day trip in Prince William Sound and all of it was in excellent condition. Ryan shared information freely with regard to a realistic float plan, good places to camp, and great destinations. He was also very friendly, easy-going, and super accommodating with us using his shop to pack and unpack our gear.
