Today, when I pulled up, I saw way more people than usual on the trail. I thought to myself, "I'm here early. I got time. Let's check it out." Glad I did! It was about 1.25 miles down to West Chester Pike, so roughly a 2.5 mile loop from the YMCA. Great little paved path to get a warm-up walk/jog in. It is flat and paved the whole way, so it is handicapped accessible. Lots of doggo walking and bike riding. I recommend it!

And THAT means if you are walking a doggo, as I am wont to do, then your doggo will have ample smells to snoof. It's made worse by having a beagle, as the beagle is notorious for smelling all the smells. Makes for a very slow walk! But the trail is well kept and paved. There are trash cans and recycling cans here and there. Dog poop bags at the beginning of the trail, so no excuse to not pick-up after your pupper. Trail is about 1 mile long. So down & back = 2 miles. There are markers every 1/4 mile if you don't want to go the whole way. Solid trail. Perfect for walking the puppers and letting them snoof. Within a few minutes you are surrounded by trees and walking along Naylors Run stream. Similar to the trails in Fairmount Park in all but size, this trail is great for a short (apx a mile) head clearing walk in the midst of Upper Darby. Don't miss the amazing tutor house on the right as you walk in, the house and natural landscaping are worthy of a look!

There is a paved path that leads from Hathaway lane down to the park, onto the man bridge that crosses the creek. Often ducks can be spotted hanging out there which is another fun bonus. There is plenty to do here and everyone we've met here has been super friendly and accommodating. When the nice weather months are happening, there are two bathrooms with running water, a significant improvement over most parks with only port-a-potties.

Like 10 feet high in the air, these horrible things that kids can climb on and rock across a big gap. No safety precautions again. No nets, no barriers, and no attendants. What happens when a kid sticks a finger in the hinge at the bottom? What happens when a kid falls off, 10 feet up, onto another? Bottom line is this park is made of high quality material, looks new, smells new, yeah, very new and shiney. But everyone involved in designing and approving this park should be fired. It's filled with deathtraps and should be torn down.

I arrived at the park a few minutes before the event started and was able to experience it's beauty. First, there is no playground or basketball courts, but it is rather more of a community park where people can get together. For example, they had a Little Free Library, benches where people were taking and a large open area where you can have catch! Many kids were having a catch or climbing their large trees. Around the entire park is a long, well-maintained cement trail! It is great to just walk on it and see the beautiful park, which has tons of flowers and statues! You can even use the trail at night as it has lights in it! One statue showed a boy and girl sitting on a bench together. That pretty much represents what the park is! There is also a reflexology walk. Though, you have to take your shoes off to properly use it. The rally itself was very nice and showed hope for America. U.S. Congressman Dwight Evans as well as State Representatives Daylin Leach and Mary Jo Daley spoke! This park is also run by a group called Friend's of Linwood Park who keeps it clean and up to date. They also host tons of events including Movie Nights and a day where exotic animals came! Altogether, this is an amazing park to have fun at!

While it certainly isn't anywhere near the size of Rittenhouse, Linwood Park has been the one to deliver that type of atmosphere the best. Inside you'll find plenty of cozy spots to relax and read a book in, interesting statues hidden in gardens, and spots for kids to play in. But you'll also find a newspaper box re-purposed as a take a book leave a book station, a bike station with a built in tire pump, ramp style walls that make it skater friendly, and a pathway that illuminates at night. Toos in local activities like a farmers market and movies night, and you have a tiny spot that brings plenty to the Ardmore community.
