It's a beautiful, bright shop with a huge selection of fibers, embellishments, and of course, canvases. I came with some projects in progress and canvases I haven't started yet, and the gals were patient and helpful with everything. I'm not an experienced needlepointer, and they helped me choose exactly what I needed based on my preferences. I have a hard time making decisions about needlepoint because I don't know enough to know what I don't know, so it took some serious customer service on their part. In the end, I found exactly what I needed and left with many great recommendations and ideas, not to mention a bag full of needlepoint goodies. I loved all their finished samples and was inspired by the gorgeous decorative stitching on some of them. I also love seeing finished projects because I rarely know how I want my completed canvases to be finished. I'll definitely be back!

Like any used book store, you never know what you will find. Most of the books are obtained through donations, and some are from discarded library books. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. I have asked them to be on the lookout for a couple of authors or books. Some they have found, while some have been shelved by other staff. All in all, they do a great job. They are very friendly. There are a massive amount of 50 cent paperback novels. It's located in the basement of the Main Street Public Library.

Their shirts are super soft and comfortable (usually $20-25 each). Currently, they're also offering famous Kentucky derby winners horse poop for sale which I find hilarious. Just $200 and you can have your very own jar of horse turd made by a famous race horse. They had Silver Charms available today.

What I like about the store is both the display and the quality of the goods. No mass-produced, made in China disposable crap here. The emphas is on quality linens, writing paper, gifts, and china, and artwork M-L has a wedding registry, carries antiques, and there is a great selection of local art. This is a great place to get a gift for a female friend, a wife, a mother, a daughter, but there is cool stuff for men here, too. The owner is preservation-minded which makes me like her all the more, and the gift wrap is unique. You'll have no problem finding the store next to the Sayre School. There are always textiles hanging from the line in front to signal that M-L is open. This is the kind of store Lexington deserves. If only M-L had a small place to eat or have a drink, I think more people would come to this Lexington gem. I like the Moe's bowtie selections, and now there is some great art from Lexington artist Tuska. The giftwarap is always great. Hats off to this locally owned business.
