After hearing consistently wonderful things from my friends in Knoxvillle (a/k/a needlepoint…read moredesert) about M's, I made the three hour trek to see it myself. It's a beautiful, bright shop with a huge selection of fibers, embellishments, and of course, canvases. I came with some projects in progress and canvases I haven't started yet, and the gals were patient and helpful with everything. I'm not an experienced needlepointer, and they helped me choose exactly what I needed based on my preferences. I have a hard time making decisions about needlepoint because I don't know enough to know what I don't know, so it took some serious customer service on their part. In the end, I found exactly what I needed and left with many great recommendations and ideas, not to mention a bag full of needlepoint goodies. I loved all their finished samples and was inspired by the gorgeous decorative stitching on some of them. I also love seeing finished projects because I rarely know how I want my completed canvases to be finished. I'll definitely be back!

I've been twice and both times was helped by the same woman, who spent her time talking poorly of the other quilt shops in town, responding harshly to basic customer service questions, and being generally too abrasive. This hobby is expensive and hard enough without having to deal with ugly personalities and inflated prices. If you need specialty yardage it'll be here, but I'd rather drive to Versailles or Cynthiana to find it instead. Lots of tools if you need to find a specific template or ruler it'll probably be here, just be prepared to pay above MSRP. I'd be excited to come back again and spend too much money, if it felt more welcoming.

This shop offers art, home decor, clothing, jewelry, bath salts, crystals, accessories, wine, and so so so much more! We ended up purchasing several items, and we were both so happy with our purchases that we can't wait to go back! Plus, they offer classes and hands on art experiences, and you can purchase wine by the bottle or glass and enjoy it while in a class or while shopping! And, on top of all of that, the shop owners and employees are awesome! You can read about their story on their website, and in person they are so friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed meeting them and talking with them during our visit. This is the perfect shop to check out for yourself, or for gifts. I ordered clay online as well and the website was clear about relevant delays and the reasons why- including certain ingredients being harder to access or changes to formulations. There are similar delays to much larger websites, and this local business feels like a better use of money. The person who helped me was friendly and available for my questions without making me feel pressured to buy anything. I will keep coming back for KY Mudworks brand clays (especially Iceman and Sheltowee) and glazes (their clear glaze is flawless, and Sequoia is another favorite).
