Further, only today, at the last minute, does he send me the return he prepared with several errors, such as a wrong address, an address no prior accountant has ever used for the return. He keeps making excuses for all his errors and even tries blaming a prior accountant for his incompetence, such as the necessity of including a balance sheet. A balance sheet is not required by the IRS. He pays no attention to details and only skims the information you send him. It got to the point where I had to terminate him, and I will need to hire a different (competent) accountant to do the returns. Avoid like the plague. Reply: With the number of errors you made, you have no basis to charge for anything. First, many statements you made are factually incorrect. The LLC does not and has never had over 250k in assets. As noted, with over 40 years of tax returns filed, not one prior accountant ever used an incorrect address, not one, only you. Second, it was clear you constantly made errors, never reviewed the entire information, as I had to keep sending you emails to correct and supplement the information you entered. It was very apparent I would never use your services again or recommend you, and you saw that coming and cut bait. It is clear you have had this problem with previous clients, and it is not new to you. Just look at the 2018 review.

I don't own property, have no investments or tax writeoffs. I went in and met with Ken, who was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable enough. We sat there for about 40 minutes or so while he entered my info in the computer. Since my hubby wasn't with me, I had to take paper work home for him to sign. Well once my hubs saw the fee and pretty much spit his entire coke out on my brand new couch, we decided that maybe the $175 bucks could have been better spent. Since there is "no obligation" to use their service, even after they work up your whole tax return, I called and advised them I'd be using good 'ole Turbo Tax, and thanks for the time. Well, the next day I had someone from the office call back to check the status of my paperwork because they filed my taxes for me and they needed it for their records. Ex-squeeze me?! I about had a nervous breakdown since I submitted my taxes the night before. Was the conversation I had with Ken the day before a figment of my imagination? Well, after a few rounds of phone tag, we finally connected, he told me they were never submitted and not to worry. I'm giving three stars because I felt like that was a form of manipulation for me to use their service. And trust me, if you don't have any fancy tax issues then I'd seriously recommend just doing them yourself. $175 is just too much money for entering a few tidbits of info into a computer.

I emailed and called Barbara, she did not reply/return calls. I had to physically go to the office to get a response, which was her sitting behind a desk in a separate room and attempting to yell to me she did the taxes right, the IRS must be wrong. She said the First Time Homebuyer Credit from 2008 was waived by the government and I don't need to pay it at all - WRONG! I have finally gotten through to the IRS by phone now on June 4 and have confirmed Barbara Glanz did my taxes incorrectly. Why did I pay $225 to have my taxes done by a professional, if she does not know the correct tax laws? If it weren't for my own research after the letter arrived, I'd be doing something illegal thanks to Barbara Glanz. She refuses to refund the money we paid her and refuses to research the laws she claims to know. This should stand as a huge warning to anyone looking into a new tax accountant. Glanz & Associates is NOT the business for you if you want your taxes handled correctly. I am filing a BBB claim once a new IRS letter confirming the taxes were done wrong is sent to me shortly, so that I have paper evidence for the claim.

I used Harold for 2 years successfully for my wife and I tax returns. For our third third year with him, our experience was dramatically different from the previous years. In our third year, Harold was completely unprofessional. For the third year, we provided all documentation for our taxes to Harold via his secure link. We followed up with Harold via email to confirm he received it and his response was thanks. Then when we got client copies of returns, Harold was questioned about the numbers not being accurate. Harold then blamed us for him not having correct information even though he confirmed via email he got it. On top of it, he then tried to charge us an additional $300 on top of his filing fee due to an accounting error he made. When we told Harold we had no problem paying his initial invoice if he corrected his mistake on our taxes Harold refused to correct his mistake. It was brought to Harold's attention that legally we could not sign our tax returns knowing that they're inaccurate. Ultimately, Harold decided to "terminate" us as clients rather than correcting his mistakes. All the information mentioned in this review, I have in emails proving my version of events.
