I wound up filing an extension for myself. Further, only today, at the last minute, does he send me the return he prepared with several errors, such as a wrong address, an address no prior accountant has ever used for the return. He keeps making excuses for all his errors and even tries blaming a prior accountant for his incompetence, such as the necessity of including a balance sheet. A balance sheet is not required by the IRS. He pays no attention to details and only skims the information you send him. It got to the point where I had to terminate him, and I will need to hire a different (competent) accountant to do the returns. Avoid like the plague. Reply: With the number of errors you made, you have no basis to charge for anything. First, many statements you made are factually incorrect. The LLC does not and has never had over 250k in assets. As noted, with over 40 years of tax returns filed, not one prior accountant ever used an incorrect address, not one, only you. Second, it was clear you constantly made errors, never reviewed the entire information, as I had to keep sending you emails to correct and supplement the information you entered. It was very apparent I would never use your services again or recommend you, and you saw that coming and cut bait. It is clear you have had this problem with previous clients, and it is not new to you. Just look at the 2018 review.

She went on to say I was not acting in good faith and then accused me of 'attacking' her because I said I didn't agree with her assessment. I spent the money on the Tax insurance and simply asked if HR Block filed my taxes incorrectly, I will pay the government what I owe and HR Block should re-imburse me the cost of the insurance, if only because they messed up. That seems reasonable. Barbara took that as an attack on her. It was the strangest experience I have ever had. Barbara Ridder's conduct was nothing short of cruel and irresponsible. I won't say you shouldn't work with HR Block. In the past they've been really great to me. However, I would strongly suggest you select another location, at the very least, in order to avoid being treated so poorly by this particular employee.

I thought they had a way of checking instead they just said I did not receive it so then they could say they saved another person $600 and take the credit and charge me for the form. Three days later after googling United Equitable, I discovered it has an "F' rating with the BBB so I cancelled it. I was told I would get a refund from U.E. After 35 days, still no refund. I contacted U.E. they told me Carranza Ins. never sent them my payment so technically, I never had insurance. After 2 phone calls, 1 email providing proof of payment and cancellation, and 1 office visit from a very angry lady, Pedro rudely refunded my $389 which he still insisted I wasn't owed. In addition, he wanted to charge me $48 processing fee for the work I did in emailing him my proof of payment and cancellation. If you value your money and your life, do not do business with this company. Pedro strongly acknowledged that he knows Carranza Ins, works with 'F' rated insurance agencies.
