I tried to rent from them on Airbnb. I wasn't aware that ALL guests had to be 25+ to rent which is ridiculous to me. If you're under that (which in this case we are) you have to have an adult. With this absurd age gap, I'm surprised they're even still getting business renting. Too many rules, and boundaries. I'm 19, I live on my own, & was staying with people 21+ yet still couldn't stay & wasn't notified until the day of check-in & couldn't get my $800 refund. I'm very very disappointed & upset. I would NOT recommend. After countless messages, I have not received a response. Thankfully, I was able to find an even better Airbnb that was easy, less stressful, & didn't care about our age group. We had an absolute blast & if anything did me the favor of having a less stressful trip overall. read more

Upon arrival, no internet or TV. Texted the " emergency" line. A nice guy named Joe finally called and came over. The HDMI cable was missing. We asked about how to operate the air hockey game downstairs, " oh, ya, that doesn't work". Oh Ok, just pay top cost for a rental yet don't expect anything to work - gotcha. The pool/ yard guy shows up. I try and ask when they are scheduled, no English. OK, I call the office and ask. Well, he comes over when he has time, no schedule - OK, an at will maintenance person, except we have a dog, we need to know. The lady at the office, Susan called to scold me on dog poop pick up, which we did every 2 days or so, always before the garbage picked up. I asked her, " did you get my message that I left 6 days ago asking specifically, when does the gardener, pool guy and garbage come? " Crickets - except for the nasty call. Garbage- Monday and Thursday NO- it's Tuesday and Friday, hum. The kicker- a phone call from Joe: 'We have to come over and adjust the cameras" WHAT? What cameras? "Oh didn't Jasmine tell you? There are cameras on you at the property!" By law camera 's must be disclosed on the advertising flyer. But no, they tell you afterwards that it's for YOUR benefit. Property is OK, Casa Azul. Minimal kitchen accessories, no peeler, no grater, one 9x13 pan. Lots of dishes and unnecessary glasses and shot glasses. The pots and pans are a $39.00 box from Walmart, most scratched so badly that you'd be having Teflon meals, ( see pics). We brought a lot of our own things since we were staying so long, and honestly, have come to EXPECT nothing. We are never disappointed. We stayed two months, we wonder if the owner actually is kept apprised of what really goes on. read more

My husband and I rented Casa de las Palmas from Padre Getaways for the month of Feb. 2023. The unit was in cool setting on the canal and had been well cleaned. It was uniquely decorated in a fun way and we were excited to be there. We found there were no hangers in the closets. No problem, they delivered some right away. After unpacking we went watch some TV and relax. It was then we learned. THERE WAS NOT ONE COMFORTABLE PLACE TO SIT IN THE ENTIRE UNIT. EVERY PIECE OF FURNITURE WAS BROKEN DOWN AND AWFUL TO SIT ON. We paid $5,000 to rent this place for one month. There is no way we should have had to live like this for that money. The chairs at the table had been cut back so that you needed a booster seat to sit at the table. They brought out some other kitchen chair (old, stained and uncomfortable but at least the right height for the table). They refused to do anything further, including refunding part of the rent. I invited them to come out and look at the furniture and was told they were familiar with the furniture and it is designed for "sink-in comfort". Then they offered to bring out additional pillows that we could put under the cushions. We had already stuffed every decorator pillow we could find under those cushions. It was awful. It's been two weeks since we left and my back is still messed up from sitting on broken down furniture. About 10 days before we left, the p-trap came loose under the kitchen sink. We cleaned up the stinky water mess and lined the p-trap back up to the sink drain but the plumbing was old and it didn't securely attach. We used items under the sink to balance it in place. We notified Padre Getaways but they did not send anyone out. I would NEVER use Padre Getaways again. I feel very ripped off by this company charging us luxury rental prices and delivering very substandard furnishings. read more

The only reason this company is getting a single star is because I cannot give it less than one. To begin with, the company has the wrong location listed with Booking.com and we had to call to get the right location of the rental agency. The rental agent, " Jasmine," stated that the wrong location was due to Booking.com. Once we were done with the check in process, we went to the condo. No sooner did we get settled, the TV, microwave and the toaster oven were not working. We called and they sent someone to fix everything. After around 30 minutes, the problem with the TV was still not fixed and I was informed that it was a bad HDMI cable. A few hours later, I had to call again about the HDMI cable that the guy was supposed to replace. He finally came and plugged it in and then reset the TV. That still did not resolve the issue and proceeded to be told that it was a service provider problem and nothing to do with Padre Getaways. If all this was not bad enough, the shower was either ice cold or boiling hot, but we were still trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. However, the last straw was when we returned back to the condo after being out and it was a ripe 88 degrees inside. We tried everything to fix the issue ourselves, to no avail. So, we called the emergency line and were told that they would have someone there to fix it by 9am. After a horrible night with the front door and windows open, we were forced to make contact again because it was almost 10am and they still hadn't managed to get someone to come and take a look at the issue. Finally, at close to 11am someone came and had to replace the Nest a/c thermostat control panel. We proceeded to ask to be compensated, given ALL of the issues we had contended with throughout our stay. Their response was that it is weather related and is to be expected, therefore, there was no compensation to be given. The a/c issue was not weather related due to it being an interior fix and was more of a lack of maintenance on their part but they said they were not responsible for compensating us because it is all in the contract. So, ANYONE that plans to use this company.....don't sign anything because it is a way for them to avoid taking care of the customer. They want their money and don't have the customer in mind at all....buyer beware....for sure in this case!!! read more

Padre Getaways are good. The unit we rented was o.k. The issues that keep me from rating this place 5 stars are the hole in the living room wall, the only shear curtains in the living room/kitchen and dining area and the very thin walls and/or noisy neighbors. The location cannot be beat. But we also had a petty theft of part of one of our fishing kayaks while here, so while it is a neat and tidy small condo complex right on the bay, replete with boat slips for use, it is not secure - as the neighbors to the north with the locked gait are, relatively speaking that is. The appliances in the condo are dated but all work. The kitchen was well appointed. We ate all but one meal (6 day stay) here. All in all, we would consider coming back to a Padre Getaways property. read more

They like to say things "have been resolved" when literally nothing is resolved. Their contract does not match property's rules, so when confusion happens it's both pointing fingers saying it's the others issues leaving guests frustrated. Staff are not knowledgable and say they will ask a manager and call back, but not call back. It's your typical rental agency that makes promises they can't keep. read more

I spoke with the office and told them, per your instructions, you state not to wash the linen or clean up, then we as the customers, follow your instructions, and don't clean up, then you charge for houseskeeping fees, I told them its entrapment, and your statement is conflicting and misleading...DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT RENT FROM THEM...I recorded my room upon checkout, and what they found is not in my video.....STAY AWAY...... read more

Padre Getaways has beautiful properties on SPI. The staff is extremely polite and HAPPY!!! We were able to check in quickly and the kids were a huge fan of the Heated Pool at the unit. A short walk to the beach and comfortable beds made this a 5 star vacation. Thanks guys, will defiantly be back soon!!! read more

Great rental in the Bay side during spring break. The villa was nicely decorated villa, roomy and clean, laundry facilities worked well, and the kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans/dishes, etc. The booking process was easy, great customer service from Padre Getways owner and staff. We will definitely book with them when we come back to South Padre. read more
