Geez Louise! We called in advance earlier that day letting them know that we would be arriving after 6pm. They assured us that this would not be a problem. Once we arrived the place was closed, no lights, no anything; there was a buzzer out front which I'm not sure even worked and a couple of phone numbers to call...one was disconnected and the other rang and rang. After about 20 minutes of calling this phone number someone finally picked up and agreed to meet us at the office in 2 hours!! Are you serious 2 hours?!? The entire Island is only about 3 miles long and 200 yards wide! And you need 2 hours!?! This is supposed to be property leasing company that caters to the customer, right?? Obviously NOT! TOWEL & LINENS Services: If you want new towels and linens you have to drive to the office within the hours allotted for pickup. Almost every other condominium on South Padre Island that we've ever stayed at, has onsite the towels and linens turn-in, but not with this leasing company. With them you have to drive to their office in order to replace your towels and linens. RIDICULOUSNESS! But they were Clean. In addition, the address to the office is incorrect. Your GPS will take you to another condominium a few blocks over. So be sure to get exact instructions over the phone on how to get to the office if you choose to use this leasing company. I WILL NOT EVER BOOK A CONDO USING THIS COMPANY! NEVER AGAIN!! And I DO NOT recommend it to anyone else.

One of the cars was in covered parking which was a wonderful convenience. Upon arriving we also quickly located some carts to help with loading and unloading our baggage. Our condo was well kept, comfortable, and clean. In fact, we were most impressed with the cleanliness of the entire condo resort. We noticed the pool getting a cleaning each morning, and the walkways were always free of debris and sand. The wash station from the beach was a joy with warmish water and a good power spray that was easy to use and thus everyone took lots of care. Finally, the balcony overlooking the pool (which was shaded most of the day) and beach was the most enjoyable place. We will definitely come back to this wonderful condo in the future.

I asked for partial credit but was refused.

There is a deck by the beach for guests that has chairs, tables, umbrellas, and a shower/wash-off spot. They did have 2 containers of soap to get the tar/oil off your feet, but both were completely empty, so that was a bit of a nuisance, and some shoes got ruined. The pool and BBQ area were nice and clean. I saw workers cleaning the pool each morning that I was there. All three nights, there was a fireworks show around 9ish. I don't know if that's a nightly thing, but it was lovely. Okay.. $80 for additional cars, I understand there isn't a lot of parking space but only being able to have 2 cars, even if they aren't staying is wild, it was a hassle to be able to get my whole group together in one place to meet up to discuss plans/hang (some of my party stayed at a hotel next door). We ended up getting a golf cart for a few hrs because you can park that without having to pay (if it's not overnight). The body wash/shampoo/conditioner was out in ALL 3 bathrooms. The faucet in the shower was so loose I was scared if I touched it too hard it would come right off, same with shower curtain rod. The towel holder in the bathroom I was in popped right off when I was drying my hands. Overall I feel like the bathrooms could have been cleaner and could definitely benefit from some upgrades. Covers on the bed are thin so if you are cold-natured I would definitely bring a cover from home. Baseboards in the master bedroom were all messed up, not a problem just an eyesore. WiFi was trash but it usually is in public places like that so didn't bother me much. Overall for the price, some things need upgrades, and staff can be more mindful of making sure things are filled and clean for the next guest. All that being said, I would probably stay here again.

Rude staff (Bella the alleged manager) was horrible and argued with several guests including my guests. Unprofessional and condescending. The parking lot attendants are ridiculous and test people as if they are beneath them. The staff needs to go! The place is less than clean, hallways smell. Luggage carts are old and dirty. Cleaning staff standing around gossiping about Bella the "manager". Can't get a hold of anyone on the weekends of there is a building problem. BBQ pits were dirty and they charge a fee to use them! Whoever maintains the pool and lawn does a fantastic job! This place is worn and dated but even that can be overlooked if they treated their guests right.

Think about it, she lives exactly where she wants to, does exactly what she wants to - teaches, shares, gives and provides the shell of unique for immersion into an unforgettable experience full of whatever you choose. I do believe this is the first time I have felt totally and completely at home, away from home. Lucinda could not be more laid back yet she is an author and a sandcastle master by day and night. She is a musician (yes Lucinda - we heard you guys' rendition of "Happy Christmas (War is Over)" ... still lingering in that beauty) by day and night. She is an exponentially versatile artist by day and night. She loves animals - hers and yours. She is unyielding-ly kind, accommodating and helpful. While she is unobtrusive she manages to hook you up with surprise things like a funky Christmas tree and a Christmas parade right down the street. She could not be more welcoming of you into your home (away from home) above her home. You can see both sides of the ocean around you from this guest house. You can walk to the ocean in about 2.5 minutes, literally. You can sit on your front deck and take in all that ocean. You can sit on your back deck and take in the back yard, gorgeous trees, the seagulls, an owl, and if you're lucky - this really funny bird that sounds like a monkeycat who will make you laugh one way or another. You can walk one house over to Blackbeard's and get yourself some fried seafood and drinky. You can walk one parking lot over from there and get some gelato. You can walk across that street and get yourself some shorts because the weather is even nicer than you could have imagined in December. Though superbly clean there is nothing sterile or fru fru about Sanbox Inn - it's all character. Character complete with: several comfy bars inside, mood lighting to include candles, a pool table, a piano, a plethora of games and books, an abundance of natural light and openness, a loft bedroom and just all around good juju karma that is pretty much guaranteed to make your delicious morning coffee an all day and all night savory event.
