My 4 appointment experience with PRS July 14: I called to schedule an in-office appointment for August 3. The receptionist who answered was notably rude. July 15: I called back and switched to a telehealth appointment scheduled for July 23. July 20: Having received no text or phone reminders, I called to ask what to expect and was informed it would be a FaceTime call. July 23 (1st Telehealth Appt): Just 15 minutes before my appointment, staff left a voicemail stating that if I didn't call back by 10:30 AM with my husband's date of birth for insurance verification, I would be billed as self-pay for $360. I called back immediately, and staff claimed they had called and left a voicemail the day before. My Verizon phone logs prove no such call was made. Dr. Aldea ordered blood work and set a follow-up for July 31. July 31 (2nd Telehealth Appt): Dr. Aldea prescribed a two-week supply of nerve-calming medication and said she would follow up in two weeks. Prescription Refill Dispute & Staff Hostility (August 2026) August 13: Having not heard from the office, I called to check in and ensure I was on the schedule for my refill. Lauren told me the earliest available appointment was Monday, August 17, and refused to assist with a refill to bridge the 3-day gap in my nerve medication. Lauren claimed she had called and left a voicemail, which my phone records contradict. When I asked how to avoid schedule gaps in the future, Lauren placed me on hold, squeezed me in for August 14, and then scolded me not to expect last-minute accommodations in the future. Office Manager Kelly took over the call and defended Lauren, saying: "I'm not saying you're lying, but I don't think Lauren is lying about calling you and leaving a voicemail." Kelly then added me to the automated reminder system. August 14 (3rd Telehealth Appt): My appointment with Dr. Aldea went smoothly. Afterwards, Barbara called to collect my copay. To avoid their credit card fee, I opted to mail a check. I never received a receipt. Account Block & Disconnection (September 2026) September 11 (4th Appt & Subsequent Calls): After my appointment, the office called and texted for me to schedule my next visit. When I called back, Lauren stonewalled me from scheduling any future appointments until my $15 mailed check was received. Remaining polite, I requested a receipt for my prior $45 in payments and asked if Dr. Aldea had addressed a medical question I had submitted. Lauren said she would mail the receipt, had no update on my question, after thanking her she straight hung up on me. Follow-up Attempts: I called back immediately to speak with management, but Kelly was unavailable, Barbara took my name and number. I'm calling to get my medical records so I can leave the practice. Horrible bedside manner. No one has ever returned my phone calls. Poor communication.

If you are ever referred to this place for pain management do not trust that referral. Question it and be sure do your homework first. I wish I would've done an about face and promptly marched the other way. Hindsight is always 20/20. If you need help for addiction then this place is probably fine for you. However if you suffer from serious and complicated health issues and are in severe pain that needs managing this is not where you belong. read more

I also wonder where these people with such bad reviews are coming from. I have been seeing someone (usually Liz) for close to 20 years. Other doctors wanted me off bupreneprine (sp? )and she was perfectly fine with that. Went off for about a year and then asked to go back but taking half as much. My problem was that I did not see Malinoff sooner. Other doctors had me on hydrocodone for years although I told them my symptoms. Constipation mostly. surgery (bowel obstruction) and (adhesions) caused by too much, too long, hydrocodone would probably not have happened had I seen M sooner. My only complaint is that they don't send bills so I don't pay them. Guess they were having some office problems. I am behind 3 visit payments which I am paying today. Less than one star. These people are incapable of thinking out of the box. If you have a bad reaction to a drug they put you on, they are incapable of finding another solution for you. I have been going to Pain Recovery Solutions for about 15 years. The reason why I am doing this review is because I read the reviews that others have posted. I wonder if they are talking about the same place that I go to. I have never been treated other than excellent in all of the years I have been going there. I wonder also what part these people played in their experiences with PRS. I have always had great experiences with all of the Doctors and staff. I owe them. I appreciate them. If I could give less than 1 star I would too. The office staff is not helpful when asked for explanantions of their office policies. In fact, they were downright rude. Today I was yelled at, was treated rudely, and when I asked about being taken off the drug (buprenorphine) so that I could focus on muscle relaxers, Liz said "NO." What?????? She is rude. When I asked to talk with her about our interaction, and whether we could be nice, she told me she didn't want to lose her license. WHAT????? find another place. I went to Dr. Malinoff after being on a pain medication for over 20 years after being diagnosed with Lupus and Scleroderma. While I never abused my medication, I was tired of being tied to it and wanted to stop taking it. Dr. Malinoff is great and one of the kindest and most thoughtful doctors I have ever met. I wish there were more doctors out there like him. I no longer see Dr. Malinoff as a patient, only because I have weaned myself off of the medication he started me on and no longer need it. I highly recommend him to anyone who may need his services. He's at the top of his profession and knows what he's talking about!! AAAA+++++ read more

Omg the office manager "Annette" has got to be the most incredibly rude obnoxious person ever! Zero business dealing with the patients!!! The docs I have dealt with are great but having to deal with that woman it just isn't worth it!!! Go somewhere else! Rude! Rude! Rude! No other way to explain her! Her customer service skills suck! I told the doc about the way she treats customers and she said I need to work it out with her! Yah right! This lady has no customer service skills what so ever! I don't have to work out nothing! Plenty of docs out there!!! I'm not the only one either! I have witnessed on many occasions her being incredibly rude to others. She talks down to people! Just unbelievable!
